Major difference is this time you are not on the side of the dragons... also you are not the merchant, but the knight who has to deal with all the weirdness while also finding his feet in a world bereft of the cultural and social touchstones he has known all his life.
But I hope I've cosplayed a fey answer at least a little! 😉

Pretty sure Richard went full "you get used to it" ala Goblin Slayer after we accidentally nearly died for the nth time.

Unless the MC here had also just become completely jaded to danger.

It's basicly the same story as in ASWAH: a silver-tongued merchant travels around the world accompanied with sir knight, small wild girl with magic, dhampir and friendly aberration. Global plot tells about rising of dragons in a low-magic world. :V

[X] Goldfish

I am also not very interested in Lirman plot besides fulfilling allied obligations. But, @Goldfish , we have to retrieve the spear!
Oh, I don't want to leave immediately. We still need to get Lina to the hall and presumably help kill whoever the traitors are. If the creature who still it was in the structure when it collapsed, we'll just need to pay enough commoners to dig through the rubble.

[X] It is a noble one and you shall do what you can to help her fulfill it.

Oh no we should definitely help her. We owe her this much.

It's a terrible hand to play from, but it's certainly more noble than I expected.

The current vote basically amounts to us abandoning Lina during one of the most important confrontation of her life.

She's planning on going against he mother who we found out she's presumably holding the king of this island hostage for some nebulous reason.

We have to help her not just because we are indebted to her but because we will secure our and by extension Lina reputation in the eyes of the people as the saviours of the king's thus smooth out Lina's rise to the queen of this island.

Also another reason we really need to make sure Lina survive the confrontation with her mother is because if Lina is killed during her confrontation with her she'll might still blames us for "poisoning" her daughter's mind and seas will become a major hazrd for the foreseeable future.

I disagree with Goldfish and actually do want to help Lina if only because 'Fey gonna Fey' isnt the Anwari's fault for once :V but the default voting option for it is too sycophant for my liking.

Roland's a knight this means we're honerbound to answer a lady's Beck and call, especially if said lady is a possible future queen.

I just don't know what we can do against Lina's mother. She is so far beyond us that it's not even funny.

Oceanid – d20PFSRD

Her main attack hits for 7d6 damage, which will one shot pretty much anyone we have except for Roland or Silver, and even they couldn't take more than two hits. She can Summon multiple CR 5 Large Water Elementals, each of which would be a serious threat to our group on their own, let alone if she sends more than one against us at the same time.

She is a crazy bitch, but she's not stupid. Her only vulnerability is if she is out of water, and even when she isn't in or on the ocean, she's absolutely deadly if there is any water nearby. She isn't going to conveniently present herself far away from water, not in a way that would let us fight her.

And if she does want to leave the safety of the ocean, she can use her Control Weather SLA to stir up some windy weather over Apuku then boost it to tornado force winds (175+ mph) with her Control Winds SLA. She could make those winds blow around her in a 360 foot radius for 90 minutes, then do it twice more, for a total of 270 minutes. She could literally take a leisurely stroll through Apuku and erase the city from the map and we would be completely unable to oppose her in any way.

What do y'all want to do against something like that?

The problem with continuing to help is that it never seems to end, and it digs us deeper and deeper into crap that that could get multiple people killed.

If you don't like my plan, though, you should write an alternative option. I agree that the default 'help' option is too sycophantic. I've added a bit to my plan.

[X] Lina's oath and intentions are noble. She appears to be sincerely willing to set aside her own ambitions for the good of her people, to prevent greater bloodshed in a needless fight against the island's Fey population.
-[X] You wish her the best of luck on that path, for it won't be an easy one to walk. Perhaps she and Ohun will be able to recover her brother safely, or even convince her mother to part with him without a fight, but you want no part in that struggle. You have other obligations and responsibilities, to yourself, to your men, and to those who have placed their trust in you as a leader, an ally, or a friend.
--[X] We will help her settle matters here on the island with the traitors and secure her position of leadership before we depart.

All the more reason we should deal with her right there and now, not only will she make seas nigh uncrossable if she gets in her head that we're to blame for Lina's death but she'll send a typhoon to sink the Marcella.

Well, we could talk to her. It worked once and it should work again. With Roland's 19 points in CHA, it has a pretty good chance might just work especially with Lina on hand to guilt-trip her mother.

While on the contrary running away from problems and leaving them to fester is Worse. Like I said again if we helped the king with demons problem we won't be in this mess in the first place, and while yes while I would admit we did a great good for the otter folk and freed them from demonic machinations. It left the demons on the island to run rampant forcing the boy king to seek out the service of the formless ones and pissing the local Fey. Kick-starting the chain reaction leading up to this current predicament.

@silvanknight if you feel the current option is a bit too sycophant how about this.

[X] We will assist Lina and Ohun to recover Ansefu from the Oceanid. Not just because we're indebted to Lina but because we need to ensure her success and safety of her task least the Oceanid blame us for her death and makes the seas totally uncrossable.
-[X] Also we need to watch over Ohun in chase the presence of his son might prompt him to do something ... rash.

I… don't think we have the ability to 'deal' with that.

The problem with continuing to help is that it never seems to end, and it digs us deeper and deeper into crap that that could get multiple people killed.

However, if we run away and the situation goes rotten, I expect it's only a matter of time before we're dealt with- we can't hide from open water forever. If nothing else, Lina's mother loves her- better to try and negotiate with her now, with Lina's backing, than try to slip away in the night and pray the minor ocean deity can't track us down.

If we wanted out, we screwed up as soon as we caught the attention of a terrifying water spirit and also sided with the ward of the deep ones beneath the sea. Half measures may spare us now, but given how much we sail, the consequences will catch us, sooner or later, so I'd rather catch them first on our terns.

Arc 14 Post 30: In a Place that Isn't There
In a Place that Isn't There

Thirty Sixth Day of Elnu-Hamba (Elnu Descendent), 1349 A. L. (After Landfall)

A noble vow, a nobler heart than most of the lords you have served, but nobility alone cannot sway you, not when the wide sea waits and in it perils you can scarce fight with a blade. "On, on to the hall of the king!" you call and you feel yourself a charlatan for knowing you will walk no step farther than that. Perhaps if fate is kind and Ohun still among the living there will come a time when they can recover Ansefu from the depths, but you will not be here that day, another vow calls you... a tower of stone far to the west and north.

Thus it is with sure steps and uncertain will that you make your way beyond the burning corridor, deeper into the city, where other darker things lurk. You do not feet the darkling fey, the snatchers and the bloody handed, you do not even fear those among your company who until a few breaths ago were traitors to Lina's cause, for you have been such a man before, no what you fear the most is a task left undone and to the vagaries of fate unwound. Perhaps it is pride speaking, you think as blade in hand you run our eyes across the broken stones in search of foes and skulkers. You have faced by the scores spirits that were once the stuff of ancient parable and each time you have come out the victor, parting ways with allies if not yet on their feet than at least with them rising from their knees.

It hurts to see the city aflame and its people milling about in fear and rage, knowing not who to turn to... this is the place you have first found safe harbor, perhaps that girl trying to hastily pack up a market stall to the sound of clanking pots and jangling beads was one of those who first watched the coming of the strangers from 'far Normandy' all those months ago, perhaps that smith dazed ad bearing a bloody hammer had been one of those who helped to shoe the horses of the company despite never having known their like...

When you come at last to the king's hall and find... it is no more, as though the hand of some giant had plucked it up and devoured it, from foundations to its roof.

"I'Sakar," you hear Esha murmur in a tongue you know not and you feel a cold wind at the back of your neck as though someone had stepped on your grave the old men would say and the priest would scoff, but there are no priests here, none save Inge who translates, her voice grave beyond her years: "Unmaking, it's like the place fell into the Otherlands, look at the ground, no mark of men's hands and those rocks weren't there before, but they look like they've been there a long time..."

"So I hear that I'm not getting my spear back," Tom's words come into the dead silence almost shocking you into a most ill timed laugh.

"We will rebuild, we will make a better city, a fairer city... and we will being back the rightful king," Lina vows again, but before the hollow at the heart of the city, it rings more of ambition than truth. There is no one to fight, not here, no scion of the Iranea, no fey thief... just the chaos of a broken city

What do you do next?

[] Investigate the strange fey who stole Tom's spear, you do have contacts among the local fey

[] Try to hire on tradesmen for Wayfarer's Rest, if ever there was a time for even a solid craftsman to pull up stakes and move across the wise seas this is it
-[] Write in what you are looking for

[] Seek out bargains at the market

[] Lina wants your help in finding Ohun, perhaps you can do her one last favor

[] Write in

OOC: Each one of these will take three days to attempt, you can take as many as you like.
