Situation Foxtrot (SAO/Foxhole) [COMPLETE]

ISG versus HMG.
The ISGs I believe, there going to get called a lot of stuff except what they are cause Infantry Support Guns don't really exist as a term for most people.

Well, they gonna learn then.

This is an ISG. It is a 30mm gun, firing a high explosive shell, to ranges of end-of-system-assist at 35m. It is a mousehole gun- it removes isolated bunkers, enemy strong points in a trench line, and fends off light vehicles.

This is an HMG. It fires 12.7mm kinetic ammunition, to end-of-system-assist ranges of 30m. It is a suppression gun: it makes the enemy get their head down, it deactivates bunkers so infantry can execute a storm, and it effectively destroys unarmored vehicles and can, with some luck, cause subsystem damage on larger vehicles.

THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE.

Ah, I see. So, very very technically speaking those are artillery pieces right?

How do we get our hands on the War Bureau's existing stock of them?

By voulenteering for the job of being the bunker removal team; which is a job tasking that'll be a vote item when the invasion starts.

Right now, Hooker and Martel (col. 11 inf) are thinking this is going to be a two stage assault: step one being de-fanging the manned defense line, step two being taking out the AI bunker defenses. If I wasn't doing map changes already the center avenue wouldn't really be a threat axis: you can't get trucks up it reliably enough. As it stands, both Hooker and Martel have nasty advances to make: one through a tight coast road and the other through a tight hill chokepoint.

I have no particular objections to the plan currently dominating the field, but it seems like there should at least be something in contention, so here's a hopefully-viable plan focusing on treating this as an opportunity for growth.

[X] Plan Human Capital
-[X] Warden Angel Device in field
-[X] Warden Colors (Argent and Azule, changing field to azule and bend sinister to argent)
-[X] Change font of all lettering and numbering to Fraktur font
-[X] Operate on the North Front: Your people are new, mostly untested, and mostly wanting to stay untested. A little gentle dunk in the war should be enough to get them hardened up; not like most will be doing more than engineering anyway.
-[X] Try and drill your greener recruits up a little so they don't fall to pieces in the inevitable fighting. You might loose a few, but you need guns, not cowards.

With NCOs about to become relevant to things and not one, but two options which claim troop quality improvements, we have a good opportunity here to improve on the quality of the rank-and-file personnel we have available to us. Also, to be frank, all options point out that our troops have performance issues. When our performance determines not only our own survival, but that of others, it seems wise to pick the choice that should be easier for the troops, freeing up better units for tougher assignments.

I have little opinion on the unit crest vote, so I've just kept the one from The Center Must Hold.

I was gonna close the vote, but in light of the fact there's now actually a contender I'll leave it open another day. Remember guys, I really like y'all having multiple plans.

[X]Plan: The Center Must Hold

Is not that I think the contender isn't viable (as I think it is), it's more that I believe that the center hostile force needs to at least be occupied so that they can't pivot to do horrible things to North or South's flanks. Giving 1 Inf extra builders and logi guards should help ensure that they can manage at least that.

I've no objections to the other plan as well, though I want to point out that they have different primary goals. My one focuses on being where we are most helpful for the wider war effort, while Poptarts plan builds up the quality of our regiment more, increasing our effectiveness faster.

Votes called, time to roll dice for catastrophy.

Note: Any dice labeled "Clock" is a roll-down. Whenever the dice rolls a natural 1, the event kicks off.

-[X] Take some time to build up coordination with your front leader. Good planning saves lives and material- and in this game, the two are the same thing.

Someone did the crest!
On blank field, bend sinister in argent with sheathed saber dexter in escutcheon. In compartment, "15" in standard serif script+
-Warden Angel Device in field
-Warden Colors (Argent and Azule, changing field to azule and bend sinister to argent)
So how is this supposed to look? Cause this looks kind of weird.

Okay not the colour scheme tough, right? Because that is just pfui.

No, the color scheme is correct. Fact is, unless you do or are part of something big, you're stuck with blue/white/black for your colors as a Warden, and green/brown/black as a Colonial.

Yes, this is important. If you ever see a Colonial command pennant with other colors on it, that is a hint.

Technically the unit name and number should go below the shield, so that way you can break it into the shield livery, and then the unit number on a separate patch for uniforms or a different blazon for trucks. It's always the silly little details that make this annoying, and we haven't even gotten to the arguments that'll happen when Melanie wears her unit crest as a shield and not a lozenge for some formal thing.
