I am going to take the correct spelling of crucible as a combined vote :D

you are situated in the outer reaches
this is more cinematic than you are assuming
what you aim for will be the closest body for your journey beyond the three zones being nested

I don't necessarily object to silent running, just wonder if active, long-range scans would render it useless.
@chris257 are active scans going to mess up silent running?

You make out no more details of the planet.

The station consist of three stripped down hulls of some sort
No indications of power are revealed and you are still to far away to determine many more details.

Your Rogue trader is not the best at scans.

Maybe just establish a general "crew" I believe standard crew in RT has +30 to all test, perhaps we can have 3 or 4 positions that are "expert" crew which have +40 in certain skills related to their roles. Saves you having to create a whole bunch of characters but still fills out our crew roster nicely.

A few suggestions...
First Officer - Command, Interrogation, Intimidation, Scrutiny.
Enginseer Prime - Common Law (Machine Cult), Forbidden Law (AdMech), Security, Tech Use, Trade (Technomat)
Senschal - Barter, Charm, Commerce, Common Law (Administratum, Imperium, Rogue Traders), Evaluate, Inquiry, Scrutiny
Master-At-Arms - Ballistic Skill, Command, Demolition, Weapon Skill
Voidmaster - Awareness, Navigation (Stellar) Pilot (Flyer, Spacecraft)
Master of Etherics - Awareness, Ciphers, Scrutiny, Tech Use, Tracking
Chief Chirurgeon - Chem-Use, Medicae, Scholastic Lore (Chymistry), Tech-Use, Trade (Technomat)

Why not? It wolud give the quest more life, if reders try to make some themself it wolud even better!
