Also, killing an actual, grown Linnorn is nearly impossible for us.

This is the weakest type of Linnorn. It can kill our entire party in one breath, its SR is beyond any of our mages, it is impossible to restrain or hinder with area-control spells or mundane options (tanglefoot, etc.), it can't be decieved by illusions, it can't be weakened by curses.

It's a gods-damned murdermachine that can kill an army and be back to full health a minute after the last guy with a Cold Iron weapon is down.

@DragonParadox, just checking, if we'll seek the remedy in the Temple of Ikomi and/or with Anisi, we'll still first try to accomplish what we actually want to do (questioning the skulls, telling about daemon plots), and only then look about remedying the curse, right?

@DragonParadox, mechanics question, the power providing the curse states:
If the character is knocked unconscious or killed by an attack or spell, the attacker suffers the curse of drowning (Will negates).
Given that Isele was knocked unconscious by Inge's Snowball and killed by Roland, how did other people (Tom and 3 men-at-arms) get the curse? Did other pirates have this power? Or was the curse not because of the power, but through some other way, like Isele directly cursing everyone he could?

@DragonParadox Can there be a musk option from the Dream Creature Forest Dragon that gives a boost to sleep spells?

Hmm, that does make sense yeah

He was a Skald which means he had the option to hand out his Rage powers to those under the power of his song, so anyone who killed or knocked unconscious any of his men near him while he was singing could fall under the curse.

Yeah, that's just not happening. Completely impossible in this setting without a literal army specially prepared just for it, and even then the army might be the ones who die while the Linnorm gets a battlefield of tasty snacks.

These Olweje people are fucking insane. Hopefully we can just pay to have the curse removed at a temple not staffed by head cases. If DP is using the DM guide's spellcasting service guidelines, it should cost 180 gold per man to have a Remove Curse spell cast on them by a 6th level Cleric. That's going to hurt a lot after wasting 800 gold here, but at least it might be a possible solution rather than suicide like Olweje's Cleric proposed.

@DragonParadox, can you clarify how the curse functions?
Curse of Drowning: save Will DC 10 + 1/2 character's level + character's Charisma bonus; effect target is unable to breathe water (even with magic), can hold its breath only half as long as normal, and is sickened whenever it holds its breath.
Is the effect currently in place and always active or is it something they have to save against each time they try to hold their breath? I'm assuming it's always active.

What was the saving throw DC of the curse and caster level?

  1. Always active
  2. CL was 6 and DC was 16. Like I said your men at arms were lucky on the saves

Olweje can suck it. What an insane god. Fortunately the Death Goddess who blessed a girl when she was but a child and blessed her by showing her the last moments of her dying family is way more sensible than this guy.

I have a suspicion that there will be lower-CR Linnorms somewhere in this setting.

Quite possible, but lower CR doesn't mean they still wouldn't be a deadly threat, and the curse really isn't that bad.

Seeking out a killable Linnorm could be the effort of years. If we can't have the curse removed through magic, our men will just have to deal with the effects unless we stumble upon a really juvenile Linnorm to murder.

I don't care of the universe wants it, we are not actively going to find and fight more dragons! Tom is happy with the one kill to his name thank you.

Now that we know the Zentragt Horn is safe to continue using, that's a fairly powerful tool to have in our bag of tricks. Not only is the transformation a really good combat enhancement for many situations, it also comes with a few really nice SLAs.

Zentragt – d20PFSRD

If we used the horn on someone, they could then turn around and cast Bear's Endurance on themselves and a couple other people. +4 Constitution equals +2 HP per level or HD and a +2 bonus to Fortitude saves.

They could use CLW to help with healing, too, allowing Inge to conserve her spell slots.

The Rage SLA isn't as powerful as the Barbarian ability, but it's not bad at all. At 6th caster level, the Zentragt person could affect two willing targets with Rage for at least 6 rounds. If those same two targets also got the Bear's Endurance buffs, they would be fighting with a +6 CON and +2 STR bonus.

So it was the curse of the dragon being petty in death?
No, it was a Rage power Isele the pirate douchebag had, which he could share with his minions because of his Skald class. It is mechanically a shitty power, IMO, but now it's really screwing us over long after Isele became fishbait.

Linnorms just happen to be a type of primitive, though still quite powerful, Dragon. It's a coincidence that we've tangled with a true Dragon so recently.

My dream team for killing Korman daemons:

1. Anwa warrior turned into Zentragt
2. Anwa drum player running Drums of Haste
3. Roland
4. Tom
5. Wanderer
6. Silver

Maybe substitute Tom or Silver with Ziku.

3 +1 weapons, Rage, Zentragt abilities, Haste effect.

Also Esha's staff with CL 8 Magic Missile can give out up to 70 average HP of force damage in 5 rounds, 14 average damage per round.

With her staff to give her a solid offensive punch, Esha could afford to use her 1st level spell slots for buffing. A couple Magic Weapon spells cast on Silver's horseshoes would sidestep the spell's normal inability to affect Natural Weapons. Silver already hits pretty hard and has a good attack bonus, but the more the merrier.

Esha's Blindness/Deafness spells will be really helpful, too. No attack roll needed, no chance of friendly fire, just a save-or-suck that will ruin a Daemon's day. Hopefully she will have leveled by the time of that fight, so her INT bonus will have increased to make the save DC even higher. If we can get her an INT boosting effect from somewhere, even something temporary like a Fox's Cunning spell scroll or Zaia's Human Potential Extract (if he's leveled up by then), that would be the time to use it.

Also, I want to see the Zentragt do a Charging Power Attack, while Hasted and benefiting from it's True Strike SLA, maybe with a Raging Wanderer riding on it's back. That would be pretty fucking metal.
