@DragonParadox, is it possible for other two ships to continue ahead to not lose time while we are investigating, as Marcella is faster due to her aberration abilities and can catch up to them later?
You can do that, yeah

I can easily see how various hostile sea creatures might view the ships splitting up as an opportunity to attack, either the Marcella because she's now alone, or maybe the Penitenza because she's the smallest of our little fleet. With a perfectly predictable route to meet on later, I think it would be ok unless there are threats along the route that can meaningfully target the ships and yet which Marcella with her crew would increase the chances against, and I can't think of such threats.
Don't think there are pirates this up north at that time of the year, no regular trade, and any sea creatures or flying creatures from the coast which are powerful enough to harm the ships means the ships are finished regardless of whether Marcella is there with them or not.
Sorry, but I don't have any interest in splitting the fleet. I would happily vote to leave and not investigate at all rather than doing that.@Goldfish, in case my arguments for permissibility of fleet splitting are convincing enough for you, maybe add something like this?
-[] Pride and Penitenza go ahead while we are investigate.
-[] Invite Moru and Ziku from the Pride for the investigation, maybe there are some southern people along with southern spice.
Ships finding each other at sea was a problem right up until WWII. Not sure how much even Locate Ship would be able to do about that…With a perfectly predictable route to meet on later, I think it would be ok unless there are threats along the route that can meaningfully target the ships and yet which Marcella with her crew would increase the chances against, and I can't think of such threats.
What does the terrain look like, @DragonParadox? Does the beach transition easily into forest, and how thickly wooded is the forest?
That's what I'm thinking. If the clearing is only 200 feet or so from the beach, we should be able to call out to them to attract their attention to the beach.Best case we can get them to negotiate on the beach, where we could bring all our assets to bear in case negotiations break down.

@DragonParadox, do we know anything about how well Human tribes in this region get along with the Knikut? We might want to refrain from bringing any of them, or at least keeping them out of view, in case their presence provokes the locals.
I doubt we're all that flush with food. The Otter-kin needed to prepare their own food stores for Winter, after all.If all goes well, we can even have Antonio try to turn this into an ad-hoc Market Day experience.
The fleet is somewhat flush with food from the Otter-kin, and while I doubt they need tin the way the Southern folk do; I would be surprised if they couldnt find some things to help them through the winter.
While its a hilariously unlikely positive outcome, having pacts from the tribe, whatever high muckey-muck they captured, and our group to show up and trade in the spot regularly would do the area some good. It would give a somewhat regular route for ships in the fleet, and for a sub-captain to prove their trustworthiness to Antonio. Plus, if the tribe does tend towards ransom as a method of gaining tools/resources/luxury giving them another way to do so could only be helpful for their stability against the Spooky Unborn Ghosties.
