I figure we probably have decent money from our tomb raiding and whatever we inherited from Schulman. We did manage to take charge of an expedition by killing its leader and assume control of an entire fiefdom, hopefully that means people actually like us. Then considering we grew up in such awful circumstances, perhaps we wish to raise kids that will never have to suffer the same.

No matter how dark or hopeless the situation may seem, being able to remain optimistic inspires the people around us to keep moving forward.

In a land famed for betrayal, being able to build a following one can trust to have their backs is more precious than gold.

We're not some crusader trying to force their morals on others who don't share them, we're not control freaks looking to grind others into the ground. We're a human living life who welcomes others to share in the joys of life.
