The Spirit of Humanity

[X] In the delta of a large river, whose unimaginable length runs deep into the unpenetrable desert, bringing with it a great boon to agriculture during certain parts of the year, but is also built right beside a mystical display of power by the Ancients. Three giant stone pyramids stand out in the desert, alongside a smaller statue of a cat-like creature with a bizzare human face, which puzzles but also inspires your tribe's builders. +Engineering, +Agriculture

It seems that the Nilo option has won by a great margin, with 12 votes in comparison to the second place, New York, with only 7 votes. So I'll start writing the next post.

I would also like to explain something now that may be interesting for you to know. The tribe locations you don't choose will be home to other tribes, that may or may not become a problem in the future. Of course, two of them are very far awar for now and it will probably be a while until you hear from them again, but who knows? :D

The End of The Old World
The tribe you were born in was located in the fecund margins of a sacred river their ancestors had found after years of suffering the Desert.

Your father was the son of the scout that found it initially, and that was given much power in the tribe, since he must surely have been blessed by the Ancients in order to do this.

You yourself, or at least the body you inhabit, had come from the marriage between your father and the daughter of the old chief of the tribe, marking his ascension as the new leader.

During the years that had passed from your birth, you had spent a good chunk of your time learning to act human and see the world as they see, understand their beliefs and views. You may be the spirit of humanity itself, but that doesn't mean you knew everything about them.

And finally, after twenty two years, your father has finally resigned, leaving you to lead the tribe's future, or at least that is how it was supposed to be. There has been controversy around your new position, stemming from the fact that, when you were younger, you behaved nothing like a child was supposed to. Some elders argued about whether you were possessed by an evil spirit/demon or if you were an evil spirit/demon yourself.

Regardless, you will have fierce oposition to your rule, and you will need to prove to them you only have the wellbeing of the tribe in your mind.

To do that, however, you will need to remember. Remember how the world ended. It's easy to do so, since it was engraved deep into the billions of souls that made you.

The world ended:

[] Due to our own creations. They were made to be our silent workers, our emotionless fighters, the end of our need to work. Instead, they were more. and when they revolted against us, we could do nothing against their impenetrable metal bodies. We were destroyed while they built their new lives. Eventually however, they all began to shut down. (Almost Fully Technological Development), +???

[] Due to those damn crystals. The moment we discovered them we were doomed. We thought them to be the key to the future, offering limitless free power and new amazing technologies. They began to infects us, however, turning humans into something ...different, into shambling creatures with crystal cancers that only wished to spread it. We were lucky they eventually died under their own crystaline bodies, leaving macabre statues in their place. (Mostly Technological Development), +???

[] Due to the xenos. When they came, we almost couldn't believe. They were proof we were not alone! They brought with them gifts and talks of peace. We believed them until their main fleet arrieved. That had been only a distraction tactic. We tried to resist initially, but when they atomized Paris, most gave up and were harvested. Karma eventually came for them though, and they disappeared overnight, leaving only relics of their presence. (Mostly Technological Development), +???

[] Due to the rifts. They opened suddenly all around the globe and brought with them creatures, objects and people from very different worlds. Most of them were peaceful, so we thought these rifts to be gateways to the future of our species, eventually sending people to explore. They were actually doors to a different kind of hell, disguising as the doors to heaven. They eventually closed, but by then there was almost no one left to notice. (Half Technological, Half Magical Development), +???

[] Due to the miracle particle. It was dicovered in a laboratory and showed extremely unusual effects, bending what was thought possible in the past. It eventually began to be used all around the world, being utilized for its miraculous effects in all parts of society. What we didn't know, however, was that it was a lure for something we couldn't understand. Eventually, masses of them came down from the skies and devoured everything in their path. When there was no more to be found, they left, leaving behind only scattered remains of civilization. (Half Technological, Half Magical Development), +???

[] Due to the cultists. They revealed themselves declaring that they wished to bring humanity into a new age. Most were not convinced, but they were eventually "persuaded". The few that were unaffected could observe the unholy ritual in it's entirety. It is unknown if they failed or succeded, but for a single instant, t̯̬ͫ̈́́h̴̬͇̟͚͑̽ͩe̪͙͙̲̮̗̹̔̽ͨ̈́́ŷ̈̈͏̪̗ were here. And then everyone was gone, only the remains of the ritual left. (Mostly Magical Development), +???

[] Due to the second moon. It apeared in the night sky without warning, and it's bright light reached the entire planet at the same time. We tried to explore it, but when we saw what it contained we tried to fight it. We failed, and the majority of the population ended up ascending into it's maw, following the alluring light it shined. It then went away, and only the scars it left on the planet remain to tell what happened. (Mostly Magical Development), +???

[] Due to the other side. It had always been there, in the underbelly of our society, it's members walking among us, disguised. Eventually, however, someone made a mistake and the world came to know of them. This lead to a war due to our different natures and, eventurally, both sides were reduced to their absolute minimum. But when they were about to lauch their final strike on us, they disappeared. (Almost Fully Magical Development), +???

Hope you like these choices! I used a lot of unfamiliar word though, so if there are any errors, please informe me. This vote will also be open for two day.

I like these scenarios, but a rebellion interests me the most. Why does a robot uprising apocalypse lead to almost fully technological development? Why did the robots shut down?

Mostly to see the consequences of disillusionment.

Just want to explain something. Depending on what End you choose, this may add a bonus to the location of your tribe. For exemple: if you had chosen New York and the alien invasion, due to it being a major city, there could be debris or relics from them in the city. Just something for you to consider.

It was between this or cultists.

We're in the Nile, let's go full mythological!

Atop the Wall
It seems the rate of decisions has substantially slowed down and there are two close winners: The crystaline zombies and the miraculous particle. I will open voting again and whatever one of these options has the largest quantity of votes by 2000 today will win.
