    You hop off the bug to scoop up the strange crystals off the ground. As you pick them up in the increasingly normal flash of light, Flora finally notices exactly what's been dropped on the ground.

    Wow. Seems like you got lucky! Well, you're not going to complain about a good luck streak. As she finishes talking, you attempt to put the Bladeybug corpse in your inventory.



    You just hear a small buzzer from your Status, and you can actually grab the bug with your hands. Huh. Seems like it's too big? You could probably pick it up manually, though.

    You heal and take damage at the same time. It seems like Flora's ability is really saving your butt here. You've barely lost any HP, even with the fight! Plus, it relieves a bit of the pain when it comes in.

    We may want to mosy back towards the pedestal. We're not in immediate danger but I'd rather not die because we left things for the last minute and a random monster was in the way or something.
     
    Should we sell it and split the money between Besty and Flora? They both defeated the Bladebug so that would seem fair to me. Thing is we don't even know how much a single unit is worth. I also want us to increase our bond with Flora, so maybe leveling her up might be a good idea. We kinda need healing or a way to negate our constant damage if we want to travel farther away. So giving Flora a reason to stick with us and powering up her healing might be good for us. Also I wonder if the Growth Crystal could be related to the fact that it raided the garden in the day instead of night.

    Edit: Forget the last part. I checked the picture of our sickle again and the blade looks like a darker version of the Bladebug's antenne. It might've been revenge.

    Unfortunately, our mouth isn't big enough to vore the insect, so we'll have to settle for the gem instead.
     
    If we're gonna level up, I hope we'll be able to gain a skill despite the fact we don't have a class. Maybe we can gain a class upon leveling up.

    Does a dog get offended about being called a dog? Last time I checked, no, although the amount they bark at me leaves the results inconclusive.

    Yeah, might as well eat it. You're not sure how you're really supposed to use this thing otherwise.



    You shove the crystal into your mouth. It's a nightmare to get in there, and you kinda have to bite at it a few times, but you manage to cram it in there. Flora looks at you blankly as you do this.


    You wait a few moments.

    Isn't something supposed to hap-



    Power. It flows through your body. Your empty form fills with light and energy, forcing your body up into the air. Your eyes open, and they glow a pearly white.

    It feels foreign, but also not. Like something warm and familiar. Why does it feel familiar?



    The light starts bleeding off your skin- your bronze shiny arms beginning to glow brighter than the sun itself. Flora watches on in confused horror, completely blindsided by this turn of events.


    The light grows brighter and brighter, until...

    ______________________________All at once...

    You see nothing at all.







    The class is two words. Choose wisely. ​

    But... what if there are other sentient bronze statues out there? Would their class be Betsy Bronzewall as well? Can classes be copyrighted?

    Decided forum-ing on my phone was a good idea (it was not), so I can't quite quote the image in question, but Flora mentioning that she's only seen two growth crystals when she's leveled up twice is...notable. They might primarily be used as currency by others, but Flora's never used them that way.

    Also interesting that people don't really level up any more. Leveling up must not do much on its own—if it did, I'd expect at least the wealthy to level up quite a lot, if only so billionaires could boast that their level is over nine thousand or whatever.

    My intuition is that it isn't, except perhaps in a "shared cause" way. Possibly also shared with the third weird thing that happened in this park this afternoon.

    It's not even a subplot, it's somewhere between a meta-motif and a fandom obsession/running "joke".

    Seriously, it's getting on some of our nerves. If you insist on continuing, please be more subtle and clever. This is just name-dropping a fetish and laughing about it.
