Won't loyalty put us firmly into the Astartes' orbit as a side character to his story? I really don't want that.
It is not your true reason, of course, and from his momentary start you suspect that Ciro knows it, but your home and its ways stay with you even here. To admit your true motive is to give your enemies an insight into what you value and a lever with which to move you, and those who survive to adulthood on Malfi know better than to be so trusting.
Given that this is a Maugun Ra quest, this would most likely end up meaning that Vince is thirsty for superhuman thiccness on a subconscious level.[X] Loyalty. Ciro has been kinder to you than any since your powers manifested, and you would not spit on that bond for such a paltry prize.
This might be naive, but I like what it says about our protagonist.

Not to stereotype, but it is a notable trend in Maugun's works for the protagonists to have a very wide range of desires, and there's already been hints of that sort of thing in the earlier updates.
of course Ciro apparently being from a chapter modeled after Ancient Greece doesn't help things
This is true, the guy really doesn't give any room for his viewpoint to be rescinded. Speaks of poor consequences if we ever have to go against him.Ciro's larger than life charisma is subtly creepy, for one thing, but with Vicenzo starved for any positive social bonds it becomes a genuine vulnerability. And more importantly I don't trust Ciro; he seems nice but he also assumes he has a natural superiority over everyone else. Superhuman or not, that's a well established fallacy what with the Emperor's dead corpse tied to his throne and all.
