Suffer Not the Witch (Warhammer 40k Psyker Quest)

[X] Write in (QM reserves veto) Disgust: I will not not work for any who would do to people what he and his ilk did to me.

[x] Distrust. Crane hates you and all your kind, you learned that much. You do not trust him to set that hatred aside and give you any reward he promises.

[X] Loyalty. Ciro has been kinder to you than any since your powers manifested, and you would not spit on that bond for such a paltry prize.

Funni

This might be naive, but I like what it says about our protagonist.

Well, this is why I'd make that decision. Dunno about you.

You simply can't trust people that hate you.

Won't loyalty put us firmly into the Astartes' orbit as a side character to his story? I really don't want that.

Not really? Just off the top of my head, Inquisitor Eisenhorn has allied with and fought alongside Space Marines (of the Daemonhunters Chapter and the uh, Alpha Legion, it's complicated) but he's still very much the protagonist of his own story.

[X] Hatred. After all Crane and his master have done to you, you would sooner spit on his corpse than accept even the sweetest of deals.

It is not your true reason, of course, and from his momentary start you suspect that Ciro knows it, but your home and its ways stay with you even here. To admit your true motive is to give your enemies an insight into what you value and a lever with which to move you, and those who survive to adulthood on Malfi know better than to be so trusting.

[K] Boyfriend. Spehss mehreen boyfrien go brrrr

Given that this is a Maugun Ra quest, this would most likely end up meaning that Vince is thirsty for superhuman thiccness on a subconscious level.

Not to stereotype, but it is a notable trend in Maugun's works for the protagonists to have a very wide range of desires, and there's already been hints of that sort of thing in the earlier updates.
of course Ciro apparently being from a chapter modeled after Ancient Greece doesn't help things

And the problem here is? :V

[X] (write-in) Solidarity. You think back to your decision to free all of your fellow prisoners, despite the differences, the risks, and it going against everything you had ever been taught. Like it or not, they are the only ones who will ever understand the meaning of that decision, and it's something you can't go back on.

Blegh. Not happy with the wording, but trying to be a less-starstruck / daddy-issues and more defiant / viva la revolution spin on Loyalty. In particular, it's not about how we like Ciro or anyone else, it's that we're bonded by virtue of being in the same boat.

Ciro's larger than life charisma is subtly creepy, for one thing, but with Vicenzo starved for any positive social bonds it becomes a genuine vulnerability. And more importantly I don't trust Ciro; he seems nice but he also assumes he has a natural superiority over everyone else. Superhuman or not, that's a well established fallacy what with the Emperor's dead corpse tied to his throne and all.

This is true, the guy really doesn't give any room for his viewpoint to be rescinded. Speaks of poor consequences if we ever have to go against him.

Honestly something about this situation feels off. First we manage to get lost despite the fact that we're in a group, then we find a servo skull of not just someone with a personal history with us, but the skull had enough of the memory of the person to actually hold a conversation with us. That's not something servo skulls do. They're made from loyal servants sure, but servo skulls are ultimately simple servants. They don't do this kind of stuff.

Then there is Ciciro's convenient timing, right after we kill this thing he shows up to press us on important details about our thought process.

This situation feels artificial.
