Recon only, we don't want her to know we know she is coming for us. If we start raiding we risk giving the game away.

EDIT: Switched from Corvus to raiding: while we the players know what Cinder is, but our character doesn't, and we can't afford to look away from the fact that a huge fleet is coming to kill us.

SO IT BEGINS.

The realization among all Imperials that the true enemy is not the Rebels or any mythical "Yuuzhan Vong."

It is That Bastard Over There who looks 90% like you...but does not agree with you. Particularly on important issues like "this planet should belong to me."
Correction, they've always known, but now that palpatine's dead and the ISB's fucking around they finally have the opportunity to do something about it :p

I Love The Navy.

The rest of the options are in support of the offensive plan which is the only good plan. We only have one fleet and we can't afford to get into a slugging match. Raids and spoiling attacks, that's the way to a non-pyrrhic victory!

The thing is Operation Black Fire is not a bunch of raids to is using to the raids by our Strike Wing to goad our enemies in to walking in to a ambush which has a good chance of succeeding if we pick options that have synergies with that plan.

Guys considering we are getting in to a fleet battle that will decided whether we will continue having a fleet I have to ask what the point of capturing the Corvus is? We are not in any position to really stop Gallus from starting the operation because we have a major fleet battle coming up and all the information we would get would tell us that in the end Rax is really just anther warlord whose actions only do more damage to his "allies" and the Empire then they hurt the enemy. If we take the ship we may cause Rax a few problems but he would not let that stop him from initiating Operation Cinder so we would be getting involved in events we can do little about, make a real enemy out of someone who does not really care about us specifically and by dividing the Strike Wing that we need to play a pivotal role in the upcoming fight we will lose more people in the actual fight. If the Strike Wing is doing Recon then they can hit targets of opportunity and if they are raiding then they are also gaining data so one makes the other more efficient and effective while not dividing the fighter group attention by sending some them out towards Vardos.

It would probably make project Cinder worse, because miss Special Ops won't defect.

The option to go after Inferno Squad is probably a chance to reveal what Cinder actually is, thus getting Iden to defect to our own warlord state.

I mean, she had no issues jumping to the people literally shooting at them. We'd be far easier to swallow.

While I would agree with that assessment and her unit would be use useful to have, I really think we should concentrate our resources on the battle ahead because while I don't like saying it ships are going to be harder for us to come by then people and a full on fleet battle means a good chance of losing ships even if We stack the deck in our favor.

This is why I went for Operation Black Fire and based all my votes around it.

Fleet exercise and personal tours make absolutely sure our forces are up to the task.

Recon of the Hydian Oversector forces to make sure we know how to counter them, and spoiling raids to goad them into running into our ambush.

Blue Sky is an easier victory, but a more costly one. Sure, we'll win easily with Blue Sky, but we'll lose ships. And what happens when the next warlord decides we look like easy prey?

I agree that we set it up well Operation Black Fire would mean the lest amount of casualties on our side in terms of ships and man power which is why I am arguing for it and concentrating the Strike Wing on putting the battle in our favor.
