Operation Cinder was about destroying things on a set group of worlds not about attacking Fleets of the Imperial Navy and I would say people trying to assassinate the PC are much more of a threat to her and thus to the Fleet she leads. We are completely uninvolved in the Rax's foolishness and we gave him none of our ships so I really don't see what the point was of finding exactly what the basics of Operation Cinder are. I also really don't see any point in capturing one ship when we are preparing for a do or die fleet battle were we are going to need all our strength concentrated on the enemy and all the knowledge we can get on them. Going after the Corvus is very much a distraction in my mind from the battle fast approaching.

While I agree with most of your plan I really think that if we want to go with the ambush plan they we should secure Ganthel as that will give as control of the target they want as well as giving us more intelligence on the area and the enemy's true strength in the area. If we know the Star system and the forces our enemy can bring to bare the better we can plan our ambush.

I could go for either Blue or Black but I don't think we could do Black and Corvus safely. I also agree with everyone saying that securing Ganthel will improve the odds for Black Fire.

Ganthel might be good for Black and I certainly think there's space for a debate between it and fleet exercises however I can't imagine anything worse than someone defecting during an ambush and spilling the beans to their new allies.

I can see the logic, but it's clear that Operation Black Fire, while promising, is a relatively complicated plan to pull off that requires our fleet to get several things right.

Hence my doubling down on fleet cohesion.

I don't think an explicitly idelogical purge is a good thing to do on the eve of battle - it'll hurt coordination more than inspections will, and it'll make it harder to keep the imperial Core off our backs in the future. We don't have to be too hostile now, simply demonstrate that the Navy is not to be fucked with, and we need to be taken seriously.

I want Ganthel and would take that if we'd not ignored morale/loyalty too long already.

You all keep voting to ensure that the Fleet is loyal to the ideals of the Imperial navy without ensuring that it's loyal to Vaere personally. Which wouldn't be a problem except that Vaere's going to defect from the Empire.

I favor Blue Sky over Black Fire, mainly because I think Black Fire has more potential failure points.

I'd urge that we focus our strike efforts on hindering our enemy and recce; likewise I would urge that we focus on making sure the fleet is at its best coordination - so inspections rather than purges.

I Love The Navy.

The rest of the options are in support of the offensive plan which is the only good plan. We only have one fleet and we can't afford to get into a slugging match. Raids and spoiling attacks, that's the way to a non-pyrrhic victory!
