[X] They are Interesting
You listen hard in your cell hearing the glimpses of the alien voices from distant machines, you find it intriguing. Despite your visceral reaction to them, they have an allure that draws you closer. You again try to say one of the alien words it doesn't work but you want to know more about them. You fall asleep in your cot dreaming of alien worlds and distant stars.
When you are awoken you are taken down to the interview room and then asked a thousand completely random questions. At first, you just answer what is your favorite ice cream and color. But by the time the question comes up for the sixth time you are bored and not really interested in the questions anymore. "Can we do anything else?" The woman on the other side of the table looked up from her tablet.
"What would you suggest? This is an important test." You look around shifting from side to side.
"But it's boring." You resist the urge to pout and the woman sighs.
"We should have enough data points for now but if you join the wards it's going to be important for you to be able to do tests and training like this for long periods of time." You shudder at the thought. "We have some more power testing we can do though."
[X]Test the Whispers
Finally you are before a workbench with many little devices of varying complexity. The man in the lab coat looks at you and smiles.
"Now please attempt to get as many of the machines as possible to react in any obvious way." You frown and look between the machines and the researchers.
Half the machines on the table are too primitive lacking enough parts for your abilities to make them think, or just lacking the complexity to have a mind of there own. So you ignore them. Then you consider the rest a single command? There were at least 50 and only a few were the same as any other. Ring would get all the phones and clocks going. Not the microwave, toaster, or their ilk.
Hmm you listen to the whispers and take a deep breath moving over then you say a single word. "Panic." Your voice echoes slightly metallic as you speak in the way of machines the table comes to like the phones make ringing, the toaster pops up and down, the microwave turns on, the projector flashes red and yellow light on the wall.
Then you take another breath in the chaos. "Calm." Most of the machines stop instantly though the projector keeps sending out red light with gumbles about you being so odd. The researchers take their notes.
By the time you return to your cell you are given paperwork and told because of your situation you do not need to get a parent or guardian to sign off on your wards membership.
They go over the benifits and how many resources and tools you would have access to.
