Ooh. I'll take this to mean that if we can find this place again we get access to the site, but we'll probably need to level up a bit before that's feasible.

Hmm. I was thinking consumables more than artifacts/etc. but that's not what I said, so I'll let it apply this time and update the turn options to reflect the change.

Thinking further on it. DEJ should have applied to the Dao eating roll. It doesn't change the results, but I've edited it in anyways.
 
Looks like you put the major Dream affinity bonus under affinity situational bonuses in the character sheet, should that be under talent situational bonuses instead? Because it gives a bonus to talent.
 
When we need a high roll, we had a high roll. A Major Affinity with Dream? Good. Very good. Raising DEJ will be a lot more easier than before... A shame that SGS is just Slumber. Well, it is even more possible to have a Art and a Technique to level 3 before our breakthrough so lets go.
 
So, while that upgrade to talent doesn't affect SGS, it is fantastic for DEG. This is really what we need if we want to make significant progress with it since before it was only boosted by our Gyre. And it is very slow going.

That +1 talent for Dream essentially means that we can get to phase two for DEJ comfortably with two pill enhanced actions. Whereas before it was a maybe. Using two other actions on a pill enhanced turn for SEG means we can get about 40 successes on that to bring us up to the Second Dune, and within striking distance of two regular actions to get to the Third Dune. Which is fantastic.

Longer-term, this will make DEJ easier to cultivate and makes me want to consider getting an offensive technique that is also based around Slumber and Dreams. Putting people to sleep and ensconcing them in dreams while we pound them sounds hilarious.

Library exploration the turn after next sounds like a fun idea. And I'm hella down to get even more Sandwomany.

Yeah. The 3rd level of DEJ is still probably a pipe dream until Quartz Soul, but this does save us a couple of actions on our arts/techniques, and makes it so we can get the next boost to our luck rolls even earlier.

It says 21 in the character sheet so yeah probably
Second Path: A fractured mirror yet reveals truths unseen. A cultivator of the Second Path once again takes their first steps along the twisted paths of Dream and refines their ability to tell true from false.

Mastery of the Second Path grants a +5 (stacks with previous bonus) bonus to random event, exploration, and loot rolls

@dmclain2 - if we find a route back to the Ascent, do we get to use this bonus again? or did we 'eat' the whole bonus, so returning won't stack.

Quan Jia wouldn't bet on it stacking, but Dao aren't something anyone can speak about with much certainty.

Mechanically, folks can vote for a turn option to send a letter home and specify the type of benefit they would prefer (art, technique, talisman, resources, etc.), I will roll a 1d100 (with any applicable bonuses re: cultivation arts), and based on the results Quan Jia will get cool things in the mail.
Here's hoping we get to send a letter for ourselves next month. We could use a fancy offensive technique

People usually want to wake up from those though.
I suppose it'll depend on what we're trying to accomplish at a given moment.

If we sneak into a place we probably want a guard to dream that he's still awake and that nothing has happened.
Hmm, yeah...
I'm not even sure what kind of conflict we're going to face in the future, besides "violence"...but something that we could use on sleeping enemys could go a long way, no?
We don't have to beat them in open combat, where they can use their strengths - as long as we beat them, we win.

So, yeah, setting some Nightmare on an enemy that harms them while they sleep could be a viable strategy, I guess?
(Would require us to know who we're going to fight ahead of time, though.)

Other than that: Something else that requires prep-time, crafting Nightmares/Creatures of Dream during our own Slumber, which we then call forth into the waking world to do battle for us?
