On the Wings of Victory (A Percy Jackson Quest)

Im thinking something along the lines of we stay near the flag to make sure its safe and if we get into a fight we let Sam draw their attention while we get them from the side or back we are not that good of a fighter yet so no reason to fight honourably. Who ever got hurt will probably live no need to risk our neck and possibly lose the flag.

So just ignore the fire and lightning?

What if we split up? One goes to check on the lighting (us probably) on a "wide defensive perimeter" while the other continues guarding the flag.

If we're lucky, we can get back either before or during opponents attempt to take our flag and come from behind to take them out.

I don't know it seems that Sam knows what's causing the lightning and its bad enough that he doesn't think he can take it so I doubt we will be able to do anything.

If we go to do anything we should probably first ask Sam about the what's causes all the mayhem than go check on the person who rolled down the hill best case scenario its a team mate and we get another person to help worst case its a enemy and they will hopefully be injured enough for us to take them.

Added two new voting options + Write in

Here so you don't need to flick back to the update

[] There might be someone in danger above you, you should help.
[] Stay where you are, protect the flag for as long as you can
[] Write-In

[x] Stay where you are, protect the flag for as long as you can

We're greener than grass but no sense losing it uncontested

[X] Stay where you are, protect the flag for as long as you can

can we also ask Sam more about what we might be facing

[X] Stay where you are, protect the flag for as long as you can

Choosing to be the final line of defense for the flag and then leaving the flag seems ... unwise lol

It was your first time playing, and you'd just wanted to see how the game was played. Get a gist of what your fellow campers did. So you told Kyle and Amos that you'd help out with the defence and get your bearings. What you forgot when you said that was that Tina doesn't like you and when you went up to her, she said that she had better things to do than. "Cater to some new kid that thinks he can just ruin a whole week of preparation."

Relationship Established – Tina Cossack (-2)
Well fuck you as well. It's such a shame we are a newbie.
"Some stupid Apollo kid dropped his sword and almost sheared someone's toes off during patrol last week. I told him if he couldn't hold a sword properly, he could fuck off back to the Camp and go write some poetry while we did the actual work." He tells you. "The Apollo leader got pissed and decided to join the Athena cabin for the week, so Kyle's pissed as well because he might lose Capture the Flag for the first time in a month."
Pussy.
"Well Hector," He says eyeing you up and down. "Are you going to be as useless with those weapons as I expect you to be or are you the second coming of Achilles?"

Either he's trying to piss you off, or he's just blunt as hell and in your limited experience the best way to deal with these people is blunt honesty in return. "Probably useless," You reply cheerily. "Got any tips?"
I like this guy. And seeing how he wasn't the one who initiated the conversation nor he seems interested in making it last more than necessary, probably the latter.
"It's not like we're playing with kids toys here," He tells you. "You fool around you'll get hurt, and if you get hurt it'll probably be nasty. The Apollo kids think they can just heal anything by humming a few notes, so fuckheads like that kid last week are common. But there's no Apollo kids on our team today, so you get hurt you'll be dealing with that shit until someone wins and you can get one of them to take a look at you. You wanted a tip? Get a shield and you might get to keep an arm."

He lifts the spear off your shoulder and lowers it so the head is facing the ground. He then keeps walking while you rub your shoulder through your shirt tenderly.

"Feel like there were about three different ways you could have got your point across." You call out to him as he starts walking his perimeter again.

"Probably," He says. "But you'll remember that one."
If you interacted with a child of Ares and you weren't punched or stabbed within the first five minutes, you may as well consider that a win and the start of a beautiful relationship of camaderie and bloodshed.

[X] There might be someone in danger above you, you should help.

Next time we get a shield.

Killing or maiming is NOT allowed. The punishment for breaking this rule is loss of dessert (for one week).

Well, I forgot how...loose their rules were. I know no one died in the books, but seriously, kill someone and all they do is take away cake for a week? Just a tad bit disproportionate.

Team camaraderie is temporary; having someone's back is how to get a solid friend.

Very much so. In the first book, Clarisse and her friends actually tried to murder Percy because they were willing to accept such a mild punishment

Really, given this is supposed to just be practice for the real world, it makes no sense not to just use blunted weapons. Sparring with live weapons is insane.

If both of us survive this we have a friend to help us with combat training and monster slaying.
No better friend to have as a Demi god.

Meh, not like we can do much to help out the team. At least we can protect the flag as the last line-of-defense. :V

Oh, and thanks for the amazing updates and keep up the good work! It's quite nice to see this Quest back in action!
