@Karf should we not have one more ship? We got the Excelsior, the newly bought ship, and the pirate ship we sized. One personnel transport fitted with basic improvised weaponry. The Excelsior.
One personnel transport.
(Proud owner of a second vessel capable of interplanetary flight, as described above.)
About that, sir. I've checked with Hailey and Hiragi, and they both assure me that the pirate ship is, for all intents and purposes, legal salvage. I wouldn't take it out to any publicity missions, let alone a trip to Earth, but a simple milk run over to Prismdust is well within its capabilities. Well, once the engineers declare it safe, but we've got that much time
The rule of thumb I have for whether something is an important ship, with the assosciated complexities, is if it can make the trip to Earth. The pirate ship, although larger than most such models, can not. Anything from its engine being too fuel-inefficient to the crew needing iodine boosters due to bad shielding to lacking sufficient signals boosting for proper comms to constantly leaking tiny amounts of atmospheric gas, etc. Think of it as ships and lifeboats: the latter don't get names (maybe they do, IDK, but you get the point).@Karf should we not have one more ship? Yes, but there's no overflow, you'll just be getting the best of two rolls in that case, the other effectively gets discarded.
A DC of 70 is still high. I'd rather lower it further with mag shield, which will also unlock other things since it seems kind of like an opening tech
And doubling down on an action will rarely be as valuable as doing two things at once, since we always have a lot on our plate.
Sports team should help a bit, otherwise the next conference will be coming up soon. Lets see what they want and if we can throw them a bone there. If they want diplomatic grants again that would not be the worst thing for us. Other than that? See if we can buy anything from them. We can export food and air to them and if they have something we can use setting up a trade route would at least give us stronger ties and help us both.Yeah, that's a good point. I agree, we should do something to mollify them in the near future. Any ideas? Could that sports team thing help?

Wait, then what is Skookum from the last turn? The rule of thumb I have for whether something is an important ship, with the assosciated complexities, is if it can make the trip to Earth. Isn't that the pirate ship? It's not the new ship, that one didn't have a name at that point. With the Excelsior serving as a reliable backup and the newly rechristened Skookum bouncing back and forth between Prismdust and the resort, none of your own schedules are adversely impacted either.
One of the things that we could do is try to push New Ireland as the heart of the local and EU diplomatic efforts, whilst we end up being the 'neutral ground' of the sector. It does take away some of the more prestigious events from them, but also the more risky ones. And it's not like all the international diplomacy running through this sector will need neutral ground.
Could we start a colony on the direct opposite side of the asteroid from us and expand out from there as well? We could even dig a tunnel for a direct tram line to it for easier expansion.
That's because the EU was the only one who we interacted with. I imagine if it had been the US we probably would have also gotten grants, if perhaps for different stuff.more tangible benefits to cooperating with the EU such as the Hospital concessions and more grants (The extra action grants came from EU funding).
Yeah, a pretty predictable outcome, but it's still a quest and this is an important choice. When you say decrypted comms, which ones do you mean? Encryption is an ever-evolving race, not one-and-done. The communications between Lena and her sister remain encrypted, although mostly it was either private talk or they're forwarding publications that caught their eye to the other.[X] Host the talks
don't think this is much of a vote honestly nobody's voted to not take the talks and weed be silly not too, also did we ever get anything from those partially decrypted coms ?
Yes, I should specify: it made the text flow better to give the pirate ship a (nick)name, but you shouldn't consider it a strategic and reliable asset. It'll work in the background to make some of the deliveries, but you won't take it to battle or some important meeting (most likely, who knows what the IRL future will bring).Wait, then what is Skookum from the last turn?
