[X] Host the talks

We kind of have to. Or else WW3 breaks out. Also we will get a major legitimacy boost if this goes well.

So guys we need to. First we need to know their blood type and have their blood type on hand. we should request from both sides to at least have one medical professor or professional owned and by near their person just in case second thing we should make sure we know what they're allergic to last thing we want if we serve them food and one of them is allergic to it and either a die b throw up or something very bad happens.

I think that will be done automatically when we decide to host the talks.

Also, seems I was right and the grants are getting cut-off. Guess the superpowers are cutting down their non-military spending.

The current apartments are adequate, but not luxurious. Expand the existing ones by including more floors and extra amenities. DC 30
@Karf is it too much of a spoiler to know if this succeeds or not?

I'd prefer not to house visiting diplomats in basic cramped living spaces.

There's also the drones to consider as well.

Just imagining combat inside a spaceship gives you the chills. Information is worth more than bullets in many cases and a tiny camera can't be too hard to stick on some legs. The classic flying approach from Earth doesn't work without an atmosphere, but some skittering spiderbots should be within your means of development and production. Now if only you could get them to work at reflex speeds, supplementing and improving the awareness of a soldier instead of distracting them. In fact, by now its personal. You will get the SPIDERs operational, come hell or high water. DC 15
They'd be extremely useful as an ad-hoc surveillance system.

We could survey the area around the two delegations at all times, and ensure no assassinations "accidents" happen.

Say hello international recognition! If everything goes well we may even not be know as the place The first system wide war started.

One thing to keep in mind is that this will upset New Ireland. They have been angling themselves as the mediator and trade/service/diplomatic hub of the region. Us taking on this job from them is going to upset them. We may want to figure out something next turn to help smooth relations with them.

I'm guessing that the black site isn't a human installation at all.

Also is there anything at all we can do to get extra actions? Set up support staff for our councilors or something?

They won't be staying for long, barring incredible success beyond your wildest dreams. If they do end up staying for even a day, they'll probably stay on their own ships, regardless of what you had to offer due to security concerns. There's also a few hotel rooms built into the dome right next to your office, which would serve for the admirals. Ultimately though, you're glad they'll be staying on the ships.

Your base has a pretty comprehensive surveillance suite installed since turn 7, so unless they went poking where they're not supposed to (private quarters), they'll already be under cameras.

Will and Amanda are pretty optimistic about having the drones operational, but they're unnecessary in this situation. You're not willing to bug the ships, too risky. As for the living quarters improvements, there's still plenty of work to be done, although there's also time until the end of the year, so who can really say.

And since you've asked, the stadium is on schedule, although it's more of a fitness center than the grand spectacle you might have envisioned at some early concept stage, Ragnar has been otherwise occupied with digging up what amounts to military secrets to have much on Ken, and Lena was definitely not kidding when she said that the solar wind capture project is a multi-year one.

We should do magnetic shield research next turn to reduce the DC.

And failing Ken really throws a wrench in the works since I wanted to do the school or a census. Also leaves the poor guy in what seems to be an abusive relationship.

'Not much' info on Ken, is still some info.
So not a complete failure.

Though that's info on Ken.
We might have more info on Ken's wife.

Failing an action lowers the DC, well... Drones did at least.
So Solar Wind Capture should be (slightly?) easier now.

Also, we can undertake 2 research tasks in the same turn.
It may be possible to take the Solar Wind Capture task twice, if we want to focus heavily on it.
@Karf can we do that? (i.e. roll a 2d100 for 1 task?)

A DC of 70 is still high. I'd rather lower it further with mag shield, which will also unlock other things since it seems kind of like an opening tech.
And doubling down on an action will rarely be as valuable as doing two things at once, since we always have a lot on our plate.
