Even after the reboot, I'm still trapped in the wrong anime!

You're going to have to explain this one.
Edit: If you are talking about some sort of finishing move, then you are lacking on. Momentum style doesn't really have those, as it's more in the province of Alpha Strike style (that is, making a single really big hit).
As we are I was thinking of it being more like this

Just not as flashy. This is just a Proto Rider Kick.

[X] Pump those pistons! (continue Punching)

Let's be introduced to the locals as "that crazy kid who punched an undead bear back to death." Establish a reputation early, and all that.

[X] Add some wheels! (equip Combat Yo-Yo)
-[X] Ask Dusk to figure out where the music is coming from.

Alright, gonna call it now.

Can you hear?
Add some wheels! (equip Combat Yo-Yo)

As much fun as punching an undead dancing bear might be, you decide to take things up a notch as you pull out your weapon.

Unlike most toys, it isn't made of string and plastic or wood. No, you had a heavy metal weight attached to a ring with high tensile wire. Months spent gaining proficiency with this weapon of choice, months of learning how to compensate for the moving weight and its odd paths, of having your teacher laugh themselves sick when you inevitably smashed your own face with it.

Sure you could do the usual tricks, walk the dog and such, but you had a few other tricks that you preferred, such as Wreck This Bear's Shit.
Argus attack: 1,2,6,6,7,9,9,10 = 4 successes
Bear's defense: 3,3,4,4,5 = fail
Damage: 4 (successes) + 1 (Weapon) + 1 (Boost) = 6 Damage
The heavy weight circles your form, gaining momentum before smashing the bear's side, jolting it for a moment
Needle throw: 4,6,7,9,10,10 = 6 Successes
Bear: 2,3,3,4,10 = 2 Successes
Dusk's Net Successes: 4
Damage: 4 (Successes) + 1 Weapon = 5 Damage
Boost used for style points
It's only your long association with Dusk that lets you see the shadow needle that pierces the bear.

It freezes for a moment, no longer bound by the song, then collapses on the ground. You have enough time to breath a sigh of relief, before it explodes like an overripe melon in the summer sun.

You have no idea why.

Looking around, it seems as if the bystanders that had previously been around have danced their way out of the area. Which, you know, good for them, but does kind of leave you bereft of anyone to ask what the hell, so you instead focus on the music...

That's when you hear what can best be described as a Funk band getting bum-rushed by a 100 piece orchestra. You aren't entirely sure how you can identify it as such, but there you go. There's a ringing silence left behind, and you try to make your way to wear the music came from...
Perception + Travel: 2,2,3,5,5,6 = fail.
You just barely avoid getting lost and have no idea where to even look anymore.

Welp, that happened. With a sigh, you decide to head back to your camp, and get washed up.
Though...
Dusk (Perception + Intuition): 2,3,5,6,8
Argus (Perception + Intuition): 6,6,7,7,9,10
"Argus..."

Yeah, you know. It seems like you've caught someone's attention...

[Roll the credits!]
[Episode 1 End!]
Gain 14 Exp!
[ ][Points] Save
[ ][Points] Spend
-Write in plan

[X][Points] Spend
-[X] Improve Momentum (5 Exp)
-[X] Improve Combat Flow (5 Exp)
-[X] Save 4 Exp

This would put Momentum to Rank 4 which will let us either upgrade Building Steam from basic to Advanced, or learn a new Momentum technique. Meanwhile, Combat Flow would only be one rank away from doing the same, making it low-hanging fruit for next time. And we'll still have 4 Exp left over for future spending.
