There's three levels of attachment in naming - pet, none, and familial. It's been clearly demonstrated that now that the personality is online some degree of socialization/attachment is required - which means we either give ourselves an outlet or have one made for us by circumstance.
That can be done by naming the drone and growing more attached to it, or through reconstituting ISHTAR and getting attached to her. This drone is gonna die. It is definitely gonna die. Like most drones. Let's not get attached to it, even as a dog. Yes there's the risk-need for contact and socialization, but this is *really* not the way to mitigate it.
Printers and Fabricators go together like TALONs and HELL-class. Having the two will allow us to replace our exploration drone when it inevitably explodes, as well as fabricate a force of combat drones and other devices so we can start acting like a real voidcruiser again. Having the two will allow us to replace our exploration drone when it inevitably explodes, as well as fabricate a force of combat drones and other devices so we can start acting like a real voidcruiser again. We don't need to be poking our mauled nose into things when we can send redshirts to do it.
