[] Assassin will reveal herself. She will make an independent decision and request an alliance with Lancer's Master

Assassin hesitated upon hearing those words. Was she truly found out? She grimaced at the prospect of being discovered already and sighed. It would seem that she let her Master down on that one. But the situation could still be salvaged.

Lancer looked around and turned her back on Assassin to investigate the room, however Chiyome chose to rise up from the shadows. If she cannot slip away, then she could do something for her Master to make this trip worthwhile.

"I'm here, Lancer," Assassin said as she narrowed her gaze.

Lancer perked up before slowly turning around, "Ho... I never expected you to actually show yourself. This makes things easier."

Before Assassin could speak another word, Lancer opened her eyes and with a flash, Chiyome found herself frozen in place. This was followed by Lancer slashing her scythe and taking a chunk out of Assassin's stomach.

Blood splattered on the wall as Assassin fell down her knees.

"Shallow... You have some good protection," Lancer said as she smirked while Assassin grit her teeth. A protective rune had dulled Lancer's blow and kept Assassin from being sliced apart.

"You... Lied?" Assassin hissed as she held her stomach.

"Of course I did. Now die, idiot," Lancer raised her scythe and slashed it down.

Assassin forced her body to move and drew her sword, she gasped from the pain as her knees buckled. Strong... Assassin could feel her body growing heavy, that scythe had been laced in poison and her muscles hadn't recovered from being struck by those eyes.

She smacked aside Lancer's scythe and held her bleeding wound. She was losing blood fast...

"Don't make this hard on yourself," Lancer said as she swung her scythe and forced Assassin to block. Assassin flew through the room and smashed into a wall.

Chiyome breathed lightly as she recalled her Master's face. Lancer stalked the fallen Servant and dragged her bloody scythe on the ground.

"It's a shame, Assassin. Good night," Lancer declared as she raised her a scythe.

As the scythe fell, Assassin made a split second decision.

Ugh. I thought so. Assassin should just stay and do Assassin stuff. Frontal combat is not her forte.

I really don't know what you guys expected.

Welp, this could very well kill the run. Let's see what happens!

Edit: No matter the age, Medusa gonna Meduse

We need to try and eliminate Lancer, injuries inflicted by Harpe cannot heal magically, only through time, so even if we get away, we'll be injured for a long time.

Hmm, if we die here, do you think we'll go back 1 decision or 2 decisions (back to this vote, or to the "reveal" vote)?

I feel like I should comment about this

As an Assassin servant, I feel like sometimes we have to accept that development is going to be slow for the sake of being cautious and proceeding to the next step. Yes we missed an opportunity last time but that's just how it goes, gotta learn when opportunity seems right.

tbf I did consider about the alliance for a bit and how interesting it would be, at the same time I feel like it makes more sense for both Assassin and Hans' trust towards other potential allied masters and servants to be slow, which ultimately led me to go the hiding option.

Welp it already happened anyways so whining about it doesn't matter now.

What makes you think we'll go back at all?

We've already made I've stupid decision, don't make a second one out of some cavalier belief that we can load a save.

Firstly I had no intentions of making an intentionally stupid decision, just as I'm pretty sure no one intentionally meant to do so last time.

Secondly, when we died in past Rabbit quests, we were sent back a decision or two (heck that happened to us once in the prequel quest).

If we make a bad but non-fatal mistake Rabbit just punishes us for it. If we die, we tend to restart before the decision that killed us.

I'm surprised so many got baited by the fact that it's Medusa, not Sakura, that suggested the alliance. Servants don't conduct alliances without input from their Masters unless they've high levels of Independent Action.

Also, imagine this from Medusa's perspective; why would you make an alliance with an Assassin servant that may or may not stab Sakura when they've the chance?

Unfortunately the votes closed and that boat has sailed, so we're in this pickle.

I'll be honest, I rather Chiyome call Hans and bail her out with a Command Seal. Fighting is out of the table because of poison, and pulling a Noble Phantasm right now means casting a big spotlight over Chiyome and her current condition, as well as affecting any future alliances or relationships because attacking with a NP now means future Masters know we used up a lot of energy on it and therefore weaker on the short term, or that Assassin and her master are ruthless enough to use an NP this early to get rid of the competition, neither of which are good implications. Bailing Chiyome out with a Command Seal would be the safest option because it gives more ambiguity to the situation at hand i.e Assassin may not have come to assassinate Sakura.

The problem with just running is that I'm quite certain the blade that injured Chiyome is Harpe so we can't heal the injury magically. Leaving now not only spends a command seal it basically ensures that the next period of time that we're fairly badly injured. Which is better than dead certainly but if possible I'd like to pick neither at this point.

So that's what it was, I didn't consciously know it but there was something about the situation that meant I couldn't trust the snek.

Using a command seal to bail Chiyome out might work but there's also a good chance that she's dead before hans can trigger it, least we forget the fatal blow is already mid-swing.

I view the NP as our only viable option we already weaker in the short term if we're lucky it takes lancer out of the war, is it really ruthless for a cornered injured servant to pop her NP?

Medusa already knows we didn't come to assassinate Sakura since she mentioned that we already had ample opportunity to do so.

Either way, standing and fighting without the NP is not a viable option.

This is a betrayal, snake-bro.
I will not forget, and I will not forgive.

Focusing on the good things, imagine how this mirrors Gudao: extending trust to someone you have an esoteric connection with only to get grievously injured. Bonding moment!
