Let's find out whats going on with Sakura and Shinji in this universe.
[X] The House of Kaslana has only met Shirou recently, and its youngest daughter is wandering the world, unlikely to remain in Fuyuki for all that long. The house may be more of a tent, to be honest. But by coincidence, they met, and the girl's lonely road brought her into contact with Shirou. It wasn't a fateful meeting, nor was it one rich in meaning, but it was a fun one. She doesn't expect to see him again, but she enjoyed it while she had it.
[X] The House of Tohsaka never revolved around Shirou, but it certainly paid attention to him. Rin misses him a bit, but she's got her own things going on, and honestly, she's never bored. She'd kinda like to be bored, honestly.
Fen Chao has some low key Ishigami vibes to me... A-rank though? Shirou has gotten himself quite the roommate. Seomin seems cute. And talkative. I like how you write Shirou's trains of thought getting out of control because he makes a big deal out of small details. Though yes Shirou, surrender to Fu Hua in a tux.

I'm curious what exactly the Matou option can tell us, but I'm partial to Kiana and Rin so.

The cashier - a small-framed girl of around sixteen, with a slender build, elegantly ladylike features, and long dark hair tied into low-resting twintails - paused as her slim fingers took the card, and looked up at Shirou with a curious expression. "Oh hey, are you the new student that was coming in this semester?" The girl hummed a musical note, and a strange, floral scent filled his nose for a moment, before it vanished.
"You felt my ping a minute ago, I saw you reacting. Means you've got high honkai sensitivity, like I do. And that means my niche is getting nosed in on," she stuck out her tongue, handing over the bags.
Makes sense for Shirou. He has that whole thing in FSN where he's particularly sensitive to weird shit, iirc. There's also, well, Archer, and his whole thing ultimately being long-range bombardment.
Though they may actually fit one another better than the surface image, Shirou realized as he walked back to the academy, bags dangling in his hands. Fu Hua's grace and dignity were different from Tohsaka's - more like a perfect knight than a lady. But Seomin did give off a bit of an air of refinement, underneath the bubbly attitude. She didn't feel like a minimum-wage grocery clerk, even if she was working it, it felt like she was some kind of wealthy ojou-sama. Like Tohsaka, and more in Tohsaka's way than Fu Hua was. Fu Hua gave off a similar impression, Seomin's attitude just felt more approachable, while Fu Hua's unimpeachable dignity left her standing out and leaving people (well, Shirou) feeling a bit like a clod around her.
Neither of them really fit the background. But Shirou sort of felt like they fit the same background. When he pictured Fu Hua, Seomin, and Tohsaka at a high-society ball in generically-elegant gowns and with wineglasses in hand, the image felt right. Though his traitorous brain couldn't decide whether to put Fu Hua in a gown or a tuxedo. That aside, though, yeah, he could picture them as roommates now.
Fen Chao gave a quick, sharp shake of the head, reddish-brown hair fluttering in the motion. "I... really don't like being out in the city. I can afford it."
Shirou had more or less expected this - it had, in fact, been the actual topic that had caught his concern and attention. He'd just needed Fen Chao to bring it up directly so that he could touch on it without being intrusive. "Is there a problem with the city? Anything I should worry about?"
"... no. Just with me." Fen Chao stood, heading back into the kitchen to work on his dessert. He didn't elaborate, and Shirou didn't really think he could or should press further. No way to do it without being hurtful.
Shirou eyed the boy, a little dubious. That had sounded more like he was trying to convince himself than a dry recitation of facts. Fen's cheeks reddened in direct proportion to the amount of time Shirou silently stared at him - must not be great with attention, before too long he whipped his head around and turned his attention more wholly on his cooking.
"Usually around ten." It was a bit later than he'd like, but it gave him a good chunk of time after dinner to socialize, wrangle tigers, and study or train.
Fen Chao eyed Shirou with an expression of faint horror on his face.
He also wakes up like - 4-5ish, iirc? Shirou does not have healthy sleep habits.

Tsk tsk, you were foolish, overconfident, and above all else, naive, young Emiya. Do not let the same mistake repeat itself.

Shirou had secured his lead, and he was confident. But he still had to be on guard. Fen Chao still had the dessert, another quick and simple recipe to even out the workload. If Shirou's lead wasn't strong enough, he could still lose.

Damn you for making me choose between more tuna or more rin.

Let's find out whats going on with Sakura and Shinji in this universe.
He has. St Freya has a total of three A-ranks among its students right now, you should meet the third before too desperately long since she's on-campus and didn't go home for the holidays. (Well, she did, but the campus is her home because dysfunctional family situations) Ruan Fen Chao is around the middle of that group - Fu Hua is the academy's toppest student in all sectors, the third one has absurd potential and not fully put it together yet, Fen Chao is basically the most 'normal' A-rank student (to the extent that any student that makes A-rank is or can be normal).
Other than Fu Hua they're all kinda neurotic though.
This is a good opportunity to talk about St Freya students as deployable Valkyries, though (you'll see where it comes together).
St Freya classes are also operational squads that are deployed on missions for Schicksal's Far East Division. But not all of them. B-rank and above only for active work. C-rankers are capable of operating in mission environments, if not very well, and are brought into the field if they have a necessary specialty that cannot be provided by someone of B-rank or higher. Otherwise C-ranks are second-line, operating technical equipment and performing cleanup duties and similar 'we need people who can survive the Honkai radiation but they shouldn't have to plunge into the fighting' tasks. Anyone below C flat-out doesn't come, and observes via transmission and recording.
However, when SFE has big duties to deal with, crisis situations that require their best, the more balanced squad structure isn't useful, so they use secondary squads to concentrate heavy hitters into teams appropriate for Serious Bad Mojo. St Freya is mostly a school, but it has enough heavy hitters to be worth it, so there is one St Freya Secondary Squad, Ether Squad. Ether Squad's composition varies a bit by situation, but the three A-rankers are the primary anchor of Ether, plus a sensor specialist (there are two at St Freya, both are only C-rank so it's not preferred to field them, but their detection ability is valuable enough that they are considered worthwhile in a lot of Ether's missions). If anyone is unavailable, the Janvier Twins are added to reach the minimum 3-hand team - they're both B-rank, but they work extremely well together and can exceed the expectations of their rank while partnered up. Fu Hua is the normal commander of Ether Squad, but if she's unavailable, it goes to Laeticia Janvier, none of the other members are any good at leadership.
No, Seomin is an OC. Her look, if my description didn't suffice:
Makes sense for Shirou. He has that whole thing in FSN where he's particularly sensitive to weird shit, iirc. There's also, well, Archer, and his whole thing ultimately being long-range bombardment.
Pretty much, yeah. Shirou's senses in general are really sharp.
It manifests as scent for him - humans don't really naturally have senses that detect honkai, so sensitivity is semisynaesthetic, and is processed by the brain as if it were part of the normal package. (Seomin's manifests as hearing, which is why she does musical notes and such - she's actually sending out a tiny amount of honkai energy to bounce off a thing and return to her with further information, but because of how her brain processes it, the action of doing so is tied to the action of 'actually making a sound'. The floral scent was Shirou detecting her, because she sent out about as much information as she got back, though Shirou had no idea how to interpret it - but someone without their level of sensitivity just flat-out wouldn't notice receiving it)
St Freya is the freaky-ass hybrid of a high school, a military base, and a refugee camp. Everyone has a story and there is a very high complement of completely neurotic screwballs. The ones who stayed on-campus for the holidays have an even higher SQ (Screwball Quotient) since most of the ones who didn't go home didn't have one to go to. There are like three students on-campus right now that have a functional off-campus home life, and one of those is Shirou.
Frankly Shirou would have gone straight there if Kiritsugu hadn't adopted him - St Freya specializes in orphans (particularly of honkai incidents) that would otherwise be considered Worth Exploiting by someone unethical, and Shirou is on that list, though fortunately civilian-level examinations didn't reveal it. (Or unfortunately. He'd probably be less of a psychological disaster zone if he'd had some counselling Ever In His Life)
Yeah, Shirou. He's just shy. Zero chance he was gawping at your biceps.
Yyyeeaaaaah, Nasu is a strange little man when it comes to sleep. In Shirou's defence he does end up having to get to sleep pretty late because he has to do all his magical practice after Taiga & Sakura stop bumming around his house and go to the places they actually live, but there is absolutely no excuse for fucking 5 AM wtf does he even do with all that time
Since this is an AU and he doesn't need to hide any of his practice and such, he gets to sleep at a sane, reasonable hour, and he wakes up at a time I find disgustingly early as a woman whose natural wake time is around noon, but is just 'a bit on the early side' rather than 'it's still fucking dark'.
I regret to inform you that her full name is not Fujoshi Hua, and that the roommate assignment was neither trolling nor shipping. Not that admin really cares if shipping happens. It's not like either of them can get pregnant enough to interfere with operations.
The thing with Shirou is that he notices girls (and pretty enough boys), and also has a self-valuation of like zero. So he notices, and then he inherently assumes that his attention is troubling them and he must stop that at once. He does not come up with the thought of 'maybe they like me and would like to go out with me?' on his own initiative (he literally has a girl coming over to his house every day to help him cook and clean she is a walk-in wife and he never once considered 'uh, is she into me?'), and he doesn't accept small desires from himself either and is generally horrifically strict with himself.
Shirou expects himself to live a life without desire, without troubling anyone, and helping and saving anyone he can. He's quiet about it so it can be hard to tell, he thinks he's often the only sane man around, and it's a disorder that makes him pretty pleasant to be around, but it's not a functional, healthy, or sustainable way to live.
Cooking With The Emiya Family, if it was a shonen anime?
This is unironically how Shirou interacts with basically every cook other than Sakura. FSN Fate Route is quietly hiding this escalating shounen cooking battle between Rin and Shirou as they trade off cooking duties for the house while living together.

Unfortunately Tuna isn't at her bubbliest, but she's not in the worst place either. The time with Shirou was fun and even if it's over, it didn't really end badly either.
