[X] Take him with you back to the Dawn.

I like to think of this as Ken starting to grow beyond killing pirates as Mercy. Perhaps he can give a chance for redemption for once.

[X] Slay him. Put him out of his misery.

I do think we should try to find Mercy at some point, but I'd rather not start with a usurper.

Launcel was the only member of the crew who was broken.

Or, more to the point, he was the only one who had to be broken. When given the opportunity to indulge his basest desires, when given total immunity from consequences, and when given the backing of a Celestial Dragons, he chose instead - in the face of torture - to resist.

That
is worthy of respect.

Launcel was also absolutely correct that Uthyr was an illegitimate king (and since Nimue and her mother were both aware of that fact, Uthyr must have known he was illegitimate, making him fully a usurper), and when the legitimate authority presented himself, Launcel immediately stood down.

In short, Launcel has not only shown courage and moral fiber, he actually hasn't done anything wrong.

There are more forms of mercy than just those which can be found in a sharp and swift blade.
