She Sold Her Soul To The Company Store

[x] This whole thing is getting tiresome. Be honest and direct, explain what and who you are, and hope your bluntness is met with direct answers when you ask questions.

Playing up the demon bit would terrify them and it'd be like "GET THEE OUT" attitude maybe

To give a bit of a spoiler (since you can infer it from Ayax's attitude on coming back with a demon) it'd be more concern that you're bound properly and whether you're under control, instead of an exorcism attempt.

You can speculate about how that'll work and it's totally valid to try and avoid that scrutiny though, but I don't want people thinking acting like a demon is a trap option.

We don't need to play up the demon angle, from their perspective even with all the facts we're an ancient entity with understanding of mysteries they're scrabbling about in blindly.

...I actually don't agree with the first sentence of this option, but the rest of it fits.

[X] Take the middle ground- these bugs clearly don't understand what you are, there's no point explaining that to them. But beyond that, honesty is probably the best policy, and being blunt about the... partnership that you've entered into might give you a few more straight answers about what's going on.

Don't want to make a fuss over a narrative that could work for us but actively pretending would likely be more trouble than it's worth.

I don't think Naoko (for a lack of anything else to call her) has it in her to commit to the level of ham that would be required to make playing a Demon worth it. :V

If we're allowed to do this, then

Otherwise, I'm leaning towards jumping into questioning them.

You are projecting as a hologram, so if you really wanted to channel some over the top cyberdrama you can. Special effects are certainly an option, and even if you can't sculpt a lifelike model you can draw "runes" or something floating around and do glows?

It's not really how Naoko usually acted, of course, but does that have to stop you?

Mostly what I was saying was that I think going the "why yes, I am a Demon" route would be best with a degree of ham that I don't see Naoko, as she has been presented so far, managing to pull off. Admittedly, there's still plenty of room for Naoko's character to be expanded upon so her managing it is plausible.

If you're gonna pretend to be a demon/god/spirit, go hammy or go home. :V

Though, I'd question whether any of the options would end in, "Oh, so you're not a Demon, I agree."

Unless you think nobody has tried to explain all this stuff before, across a massive cultural and linguistic divide, to a skeptical audience.

This vote is another one of those that, besides any impact it has, also affects how Naoko acts and reacts in the future.

[x] Don't explain yourself, at least at first, and just jump into questioning them. Once you know something about their culture and how they learned NorthAm, you can figure out what story to tell.

We have far, far too little information to even guess which courses of action are self-destructive, much less if we want to assist our little chosen how we'd go about it. This shaman bug seems to have close to conversational northam, let's try and see how much information they'll give us for free.

-[X] How long have these people lived here? What do they know of your civilization? How do interactions between their people and your own usually go?

[x] Play along. You can fake this 'Demon' thing. You've seem sims, and played games, right? You'll put on a bit of a show with holo effects and make sure this Har Valiz takes you seriously.

Demons seem to be common here. We can mingle if we play our part of the performance.
