Playing up the demon bit would terrify them and it'd be like "GET THEE OUT" attitude maybe
I don't think Naoko (for a lack of anything else to call her) has it in her to commit to the level of ham that would be required to make playing a Demon worth it.
Mostly what I was saying was that I think going the "why yes, I am a Demon" route would be best with a degree of ham that I don't see Naoko, as she has been presented so far, managing to pull off. Admittedly, there's still plenty of room for Naoko's character to be expanded upon so her managing it is plausible. You are projecting as a hologram, so if you really wanted to channel some over the top cyberdrama you can. Special effects are certainly an option, and even if you can't sculpt a lifelike model you can draw "runes" or something floating around and do glows?
It's not really how Naoko usually acted, of course, but does that have to stop you?

If you're gonna pretend to be a demon/god/spirit, go hammy or go home.
