[X] Hold off on the Exam and go report for your checkup with the Elf.
[X] Give two experience to the Rabbit.
[X] Give two experience to the Rabbit.
I think there's a word missing here about how many times we can fail the Advancement Exam before being unable to ever advance.Of course, if you fail to pass an Advancement Exam then you will lose all ability to advance your rank in the Guild.
I'm guessing it should be "crown" instead of "brown".Once again you find yourself in that lifeless void within which the flame remains, it's existence sputtering as the golden brown drifts drunkenly around it.
That's our Vicious Rabbit's ability, and we'd need to set aside rabbit meat for her if we want her to heal up from it. Soul Linked is from feeding her XP, and is the power to do precisely that. We might be able to upgrade that power into a link that's beneficial for both sides, but given the nature of our powers I half-expect it to turn into something more like powering us up, or the ability to extract XP from our victims...We shall see, I imagine that's down to how we build upon/augment our abilities going forward. It's okay if we're injured. We can just eat human flesh to heal now!
I'm not sure what "Your residents" is supposed to be. "You process" maybe?Your residents that and you let out a short sigh before shaking your head,
His torso is "caved" in?His torso is faced in, and his face is a mangled mess yet he still looks at her with a smile.
Golden light that reminds you of the sun radiates from her and that fascinating voice echoes throughout the room.
Oddly that instinctual terror fades as some of the golden light envelops you, safety and comfort filling your mind.
You feel fear from your companion and try your best to comfort it even as sleep takes you...
I really want the MC to learn how to fight soon. I'm not sure about the effects of using Dominate Writing while having an injured soul, or I'd suggest using it to learn how to wield the hand-axe. Maybe if the MC takes it easy for a day, he'd recover faster? Just downgrading the Severe Headache (-5 to all rolls) would help a lot.In the case of a crisis that could lead to large scale damage in a region such as the uprising of a beast horde, sudden invasion of those fucking Savage Elves, or similar instance will result in an Emergency Quest. When one of those arrives then the Adventurers' Guild in a region is guaranteed to take a massive hit for they are bound by Royal law to order all Adventurers (with the base rank determined by the crisis) to take action, those who refuse will be kicked out and charged with treason. Countless accounts have been recorded of such high-level crises that even Wood Rank Adventurers were forced to enter the field resulting in tens of thousands of casualties.
Two things here - First, I think there are multiple lines for receptionists, and yet the MC always gets the same one. I know it's been mentioned that she's always there, no matter what time it is, but I think she might be EVERY receptionist as well. I wonder if the MC would still get the same receptionist if he went to a guild hall in a different town.'Why in the name of the Gods is it this lady AGAIN!? Either this a series of coincidences for the century, or this lady is just a creepy stalker. No, you know what? I'm just going to ignore it, don't give her attention and it won't escalate... maybe.'
After pausing for what was probably too long in the doorway you head towards the counter, concerned that no one else is actually here even though it honestly makes sense given few people are willing to work at night. You barely reach the counter before she extends her hand towards you, her charming voice filling your ears as you desperately try not to think about the possibly creepy lady.
"Excellent work Mr. Stitch, we have already received confirmation of your work from the requester as well as his wish to increase your monetary reward. In total that will mean your final payment is two silvers, fifty guild points, and another point to your rank advancement. If you will give me a moment to add that onto your card please."
While I still think we were right to skip the Advancement Exam, considering the penalties the MC is currently under, it sounds like it might be breaking the rules to refuse to try it once the MC is better. I wasn't in any hurry to try to advance with how much the MC still has to learn, but I think we'll need to get as much done as we can before the MC is recovered and then go for it.Reading those words seems to trigger something in the memories left in your own mind as you suddenly come to understand a few simple rules.
- A Heroic Spirit's vessel must forever strive towards greater heights, a Hero is never created from nothing.
Ok, I'm about convinced that the receptionist is actually the Guild hall's AI. I'm not sure who else the MC has met that this could be.However, before you can really enjoy the sensation a vaguely recognizable voice echoes in the room with no noticeable source.
"Copying the books in this section is permissible, your use of those copies is entirely up to you as well, but be warned. Use that power on one of the books kept here and you will be immediately expelled from the Guild."
It looks like we can choose to practice Evasion on our own instead of having to spar with someone. Once the penalty to the MC's rolls isn't so bad, he can use Dominate Writing to learn how to use the hand-axe or shield and then practice with it and Evasion.A moment after your card is slotted in a small window appears in front of you asking whether you're here to spar, practice, or partake in one of your purchased courses.
I had forgotten about this, but the MC should be training to get in shape. We just have a lot to do already with all of our questions and the MC's need to earn money to support himself. Maybe training Evasion will help?"Horrific work, you made the right choice to ignore flashy moves and focus on avoiding any hits possible, but you started out on a bad foot. Maintain mobility if at all possible, going to the ground should be a last resort. Also, your physique? Horrendous. Take some time to train. Low stamina will kill you faster than a knife.
While rereading the quest, I found a couple of mentions that part of the appeal of being an adventurer is that adventurers decide their own schedule. However, if they go a month without taking a job, they drop a rank unless they previously applied for special leave.I wonder if there's a standard sort of schedule people take, like six days of work and one day off, or twenty nine days of work and one day off.
Maybe we could start a pattern of training in the morning and working in the afternoon or something?
Maybe we could take the morning off. Shocking idea, I know. A half day of work is still working, right?
I'm wondering what exactly they did. Are the Heroic Spirits actually the remnants of the Three Saviors? It's been stated that people possess a Heroic Spirit or are possessed by them. Maybe the voice talking to the MC in the latest chapter is actually the "ghost" of one of the Saviors?Identification. Most people will live their entire lives without knowing what exactly it is, but understanding that high class Identifiers can receive stipends that would bankrupt small towns and receive recognition on par with some of the top Noble Houses. Identification is a facet of the System we all have, but rather than an automatic aid it is more akin to a form of magic utilizing the System. As most know the System is a creation of the Three Saviors who severed much of their connection to the mortal realm in order to grant the Free Realm the power to resist against the Demonic Incursion.
I can't find it right now, but I think I read something about how people can learn a skill to see their stats. Considering the Domination ability, maybe one of the stats is Will? If we manage to keep the crown after being affected by the healing tree, then we might want to figure out how to increase it so the MC isn't affected so frequently by various entities. You close the cover of the second book as a hand goes to rub your temples, your head hurting at the sheer oddity of this weird power called Identification. You of course know about the System, it is a gift from the Gods that lets one observe their own growth and more efficiently strengthen themselves as they grow in a manner that doesn't conflict with the Laws of the world. Of course, the reason your head hurts isn't the information about the System, but rather the potentially hidden features within if Identification also stems from it.
This is a neat aspect of the Guild card that I had forgotten about. If we ever do the Vicious Rabbits quest, then this might be useful for selling the furs and whatever meat we don't feed our minion.'Many Adventurers will fail to notice, or discovery some of the most fascinating and useful aspects of the Guild Card we were given when we enrolled even well into past Iron Rank. Of course, I am only here to describe one aspect of the Card in particular, the Guild Trade Adviser. Simply put if an Adventurer holds their Card in hand and says "Trade Menu" an interface similar to the Guild Stores and many other facilities will appear in front of them.
This menu plays host to two very important functions. The first of them is the Market Value Listings which shows the current market values of a variety of items, materials, herbs, and the like for your region (if a Town Level Guild is functioning there) allowing you to get an accurate judgement of the pricing in your area.
Second, and perhaps most important, is the Guild Trade Hall menu where Adventurers can put items, materials, and more up for sale and other members of the Guild can then purchase them. Any purchases will be shipped to the nearest Guild Hall from where you order the item, and any sells will require you to give the item to the Guild until it is sold or your listing runs out.
