Introduction
Location
The City of Big Shoulders
There are no brilliant flashes of light, momentary discomfort, or even any signs of discordance as the ship makes it way through the threshold of the wormhole leaving one system. The only notice of the event was that the captain of the yacht pinged all the crew and passengers coms with the message of the successful arrival into throneworld's orbital space. You get up from deceptively comfortable overly ornate chair in your cabin in the center of the yacht, smoothing the folds of your dress as you walk on the red fur carpeted floor towards the observation window and what you see takes your breath away.

Despite your young age, traveling the stars was commonplace for you. You were born on imperial dreadnought after-all, and you have spent more hours of your life on starships along with your guardian, your maternal grandfather as he fulfilled his duties to the Empire then even the most well traveled civilian lander. Traveling the stars was not just commonplace it was routine. Most of the time. Today was unique for variety of reasons. For one, the wormhole you traveled through itself was unusual. Wormholes being hideously expensive to construct even with the archeotech of the Starforge were still a rarity on the little less travel paths that her grandfather had taken. Wormholes, afterall were a dedicated logistic network for the fast moving of ships and commerce of the important powercenters of the empire to each other, to allow for the Emperor's reach to respond within weeks and a few months rather than almost the years it would take otherwise traveling the more conventional starways. Being artificial in nature, the wormhole was also much more conveniently located in near space to Luxor, in a tight orbit along with all the other wormholes that make up the heart of the transportation arteries of the empire, under the watchful gaze of several Imperial Navy battlegroups and fortresses the scale and size only rivaled to those on the Wall and the Lines leading to Jardin. Considering your grandfather's duties took him on the fringes of space, your path crossed them little and so this event of space travel still had novelty.

Then there was the throneworld itself. While there are richer planets and systems out there, there is none more grander the throneworld of the Empire. A brilliant blue orb, of mostly ocean, the largest and most major of the continents has been over the millennia turned into massive city, whose night-side, glows with billion lights of civilization as a torch that could be seen with the naked eye from even the wormhole staging area of you emerged from. Surrounding the planet is thousands upon thousands of craft, ranging from the smallest one person solar racer to mountain size imperial dreadnought, forming multiple rings of artificial moving constellations around the planet, catching the light of the G3V that it orbited, giving the planetary rings a gilded look of silver, bronze and gold.

In center of massive continent-size city is the Palace, itself, home to the ruler of the undisputed most powerful Empire in history of mankind for thousands of year. Your destination. You been to many planet in your short life of eight standard years, but you have not been to this one, and not as you are now. The certainty of being your grandfather 's shadow has vanished, and now you only know one thing for sure.

You are no longer merely Victoria ost Lux, you are Princess Victoria ost Lux-Zel-Phoenicia, the youngest daughter of Emperor Alzonio II, acknowledged at last, and now 10th in line for the throne of the immortal Phoenix Empire and your story starts now.

Character Sheet and Glossary
Victoria is a Charming sixteen year old who could wrap most adult around her finger with just the right words and smiles and whose grandfather in his duties to the Starforce took him across the Vasudan Grand Duchy. Already at young age, Victoria has the eye and pulse on fashion, and is more trusted to dress herself then her servants whose job is it to pick out her outfits. As a result of spending so much time in space tagging along with her Grandfather, she has a wide network of fans of the new imperial royal who no doubt in the future will be chuffed when she arrives to ask them a favor.

----Glossary----
Empire: The Phoenix Empire is the oldest of the three major powers of the galaxy. It has seen many ups and down during its five thousand years of history. A massive sprawling Empire, it is feudalistic state as a result of the aftermath of the great Crisis it had during the Third Millennium
Starforge: The archeaotech hulk of the Great Ark (one of three) that brought the first human colonists to this galaxy, now since turned into wormhole factory
Starways: A complex series of connecting tunnels that are formed by major gravity wells in resonance to each other, allowing for quick travel between the stars.
Luxor: The capital planet of the Empire
Wall: The series of Autoforts built in the aftermath of the great Rifter incursions, two thousand years ago
The LIne: The two narrow starways passages that are the only economical and practical way to enter either Imperial space or Jardin, heavily fortified and constantly fought over, they are graveyards of fleets and home to massive fortifications
Jardin: The second of the greatest powers of the galaxy, the République Jardin is large interstellar republic, though no without its trouble of internal corruption and the stresses caused by the never ending war with the Empire.
Drive: Reactionless drives standard for space use the past seven millennia
Drive Kernals: The advance supercomputer plus mechanisms that allow for the local warping of spacetime to create a drive field
Guilter: Jean-Baptiste Guilter, Admiral of the 7th Fleet, universally considered by friends and foe the greatest living military mind alive, it was his leadership that took the last major flare up of the war from a cataclysmic defeat for the Republic to near invasion of Imperial space proper, only stopped at tremendous cost of lives and ships and timely reinforcement from the Starforce at the battle of Passerelle.
Blue Line
: The smaller of the two passages between the Empire and the Republic.
Krill: A small march of worlds that was settled to cover a possible Rifter passage past the Wall as settlement on both sides side expanded.
Bastion: The fortress system and the hub of the wormhole network. The wormholes connecting the various frontiers of the Empire route through this system and it is the official home of the Imperial Navy. An uninhabited system it is filled with bounty of rich asteroid fields and rocky planets and moons for mining, and is also one of the primer shipyards systems of known space as well.
Black Brethren: Infamous loose alliance of pirates who are based across known space, but homebase out of the Rift. Often hideous cyborgs and rumored to employ even forbidden AIs, they are scourge of the starways and implacable enemy against the major powers of the galaxy.
Backroads: Unstable and unsafe starways that the Black Brethren pirates use. It has been arms race between the Republic and the Empire to try and make these routes safer for proper military travel to bypass the bottleneck on the Lines.
Taboo: When capitalized it means the galaxy wide standard revulsion and rejection of use of Artificial Intelligence to their full capabilities. The exodus to this galaxy was caused by AI, though the stories of that conflict or crisis are lost to the mists of time, but its testament to the scars to the human race that its never been breached by a major power in the galaxy.
Knights of the Seventh Seal: A "holy" order of independent knights based around their traditional battle-fortress in Luxor orbit, an elite collection of third sons of nobility. Directly reports and swears loyalty to the Empire, is one of the constellation of independent knighthoods in orbit that had helps maintains the Imperial family's hegemony over the feudal lords. Often derisively referred to as the Imperial Guard with Starforce quality. The Seventh Seals knights are known to very blunt instruments.
Marshal's Colony: A world within the Grand Duchy of Starholm, sitting on important starway nexus it has been home to a cadet branch of the ruling Revilla clan, but erupted into insurgency against Earl Jostic zel-Revilla.
Angel Sariathel: the legendary and most holy figure of the Church of the Phoenix, an Angel set by God to lead His People across the intergalactic void to escape the Abominable Intelligence that took over the Milky Way
La'Vienne: The La'Vienne clan is a Jardini clan that controls La'Vienne Interstellar a mega-corporation that dates back to before the founding of the modern Republic and instrumental in ship building and the arcane art of drive kernel design. 90% of all vessels have drives based on LaVi (as its common called) pattern drives. Powerful politically in the Republic, its been a voice for peace between the Empire and the Republic and has extensive interests in the Free Star League
Le'Reinne: The ruling political dynasty of the Republic of Jardin, through massive political machine built up over centuries, the last two centuries has been under the shadowy thumb of the Le'Reinne. While the Presidency of the Republic is not a Le'Reinne, the all important First Minister Spot, the High Admiral, and several other positions within the National Assembly is controlled by them or their clients.

What type of child is Victoria till now.
Will set the tenor of Victoria interactions as we start
[ ]Rebellious: A little terror, you did what you want regardless of talks and punishments that may follow.
[ ]Wilful: While not being a total terror, your nannies had a certain look of fear when you said something in declarative tone of voice
[ ]Dutiful: Obedient and pliant, you were brought along with your Grandfather as he did business far more so then other children in similar situations
[ ]Charming: A pleasure to be around, you were often the certain of attention to sometimes the detriment of serious business, but nobody had the heart to say no to you
[ ]Introverted: People rarely interested you, and you were often give monikers like "the gloomy child"

Your Grandfather's Profession
Will help determine your default skills and starting connections

[ ]Imperial Guard Inspector:
The paramilitary wing of the Imperial Guard was feared for being the chief among the secrecy and not so secret police and security services. An Inspector while holding no military command of his own directly, could sentence entire cities to flame for rebellion. While your grandfather was not one of the bloodthirsty ones, he did root out treason against the Empire.

[ ]Imperial Navy OPFOR Admiral
The Imperial Navy maintains a squadron of captured Jardin warships that it uses to regularly train against. However, the scarcity of these ships, the widespread deployment of the navy, sees the OPFOR squadrons constantly moving to new posts to shakes distant garrison units out of complicity. You would have spent more time on a Jardin built warship with Imperial crews then on anything else.

[ ]Imperial Starforce Deputy-Marshal
The Imperial Starforce (the collective term used for the privately raised but in the Emperor's service military forces) is by far the largest military organization in the galaxy, full of non-standardized units. The rule of your grandfather was to inspect the units to make sure there was no creative accounting of supplying forces on the Emperor's dime and keeping an eye on the vast amount of ambitious nobility armed with star-ships that the Empire housed. Which meant in practicality long hours at noble social gatherings and longer nights looking over their books.

What Part of the Galaxy Did He Operate in?
[ ]The Rifter March: A frontier of hard scrabbled world and fortress planets settled in the aftermath of the Great Rifter invasions of the techno barbarians. Tends to be more conservative about Galactic rules of transhuman and AI bans as a result

[ ] The Osakan Reach: The Reach was back in the prehistory of the Empire one of the major components that was brought into fold by marriage rather by conquest, and still maintains itself as a constituent kingdom (if even titled Arch-Duchy) and borders with the vast expanse of wild worlds that used to be part of the fading League of Free Stars. The current Arch-Duchess is currently the Empress-Consort.

[ ]Grand Duchy of Vasudan: The front lines of the war with the Jardin. For a state of over-militarized as the Empire, this is the over-militarized area, over thousand years of being the front lines of the war has seen them determined to burn Jardin to the ground.

[ ]Grand Duchy of Starholm: The new worlds, settled by knights, third daughters and adventurers, away from the front lines and away from any other civilization of consequence, just a never ending expanse of recently settled colonies worlds, increasingly distant from even the limited central authority of the Empire.

Quirks and traits [2]
What is unique about Victoria, one could be Ruthless to Fashionista, to Eidetic Memory, more will come and be earned as the quest progresses as Victoria maneuvers her way through the palace and the greater galaxy. Suggest them, its freeform at this point.

Friend in Every Port: Being able to pick up a phone and ring up someone at any time for a relevant favor is a superpower.

The Starforce is where the heart of the empire, its most powerful nobles, gather and also the majority of its military strength. There's no way to be better intimated with the potential movers and shakers of the Empire on friendly terms than through the Starforce. Starholm is away from the more prestigious duchies but the young cadet branches that have settled there represent a cross-section of all the Imperial Nobility without any of the overriding influence and deference due to our elder siblings with regional connections and traditional liege lords. Also it was relatively neglected of the Grand Duchies in terms of screentime in previous iterations of SP, so I want to see what's up there.

To counter point Lurker, the Rift is the frontier which allows greater chances for glory and riches. Plus it adds that highly desirable exotic air to our character.

You do realize that going by our track record every meter closer to the Rift this princess gets, the chance she is successfully assassinated approaches 100%.
