He has only your word on that. Broken-Shell told him you might raid them on your own, just to prove your power.
I dearly want that man dead. We'll never manage it, though, so I will settle for burning Great Hearth to the ground.

@Azel, are we allowed to spend the time making sure absolutely everything gets burned to the ground?

Hey now, we could always be one of the first nations to invent assassins! His skull would look nice amongst our ancestors.

[X] Take the deal, but don't try to win this bet. Your life is a small price for the safe return of all your warriors.

I'd rather the Makar's warriors die than our own.

I really hope that he swears to never teach anyone his skills or tactics...fucking hell...

edit: also the fact our civilization is probably dead by now because of the damn plains people are destroying every other village besides the temple and our main village...

Let's see where this will take us.

@Azel, so if we take the deal and make no attempt to try to keep ourselves from losing the bet, are we allowed to have Sparrow groom a second-in-command to take his place as leader when he's inevitably taken away by Makar?

Sparrow noooooooo!

[X] You will take his bet. Your warriors have taken twice their number against the River People, so what are the lowlanders before their might?

*sighs*

we also lose our best commander, who could have given his wisdom to the ancestors within our halls as well as trained the next generation of commanders for our troops...so this is a triple blow.

frankly I'm getting tired of seeing constant super competent enemies...and for once...

JUST ONCE...

face a enemy who is just as bad at managing things and doing stuff as we are. because its getting very annoying to see that everything we do goes to hell when we try to play nice with others. Frankly that's why I'm seeing us eventually either finding out about bronze and going on a slow and steady conquering spree, or gearing up for digging into the mountains and becoming dwarves...

I support both options if you don't mind, especially the dwarven one.

Problem there is incompetent people just don't survive, they get swallowed up by their neighbors. I would love incompetent enemies. We're probably never getting them, though. Not at this stage.

Our best bet is to hope for a culture that gets terrible cultural values. They rot from within, and then we can pillage them.

We may loose Sparrow, but he's just one step above our average commander.
Meanwhile the experience our troops gain can't be taken from us for a generation or two.

Besides, I suspect Bushcrest will loose the war long term.
Both we and the Makarites have crazy boni too keeping up our morale and willingness to make war, while they are propably hurt on the morale and practical side by each loss, so ultimatly they have less staying power over the generations.

There's far too little time to do something like that.
Yeah, but someone is going to have to command the army when Sparrow is going. And he's going to be gone soon. Can we assume Sparrow is going to use what little time he does have to groom his successor as much as he can?

What I found most interesting is that the Makarites also seem to practice blood rites. Figures.

No. He will just grab someone he trusts and tell him to march everyone back to Greenvalley.

Makar himself was a really lovely guy and hat a penchant for drinking the blood of those he had slain. This is where the whole "Blood for Makar!" thing is coming from. Also, skinning people is a big thing for them.

They didn't draw the Terror Ideal from a hat.

Do they have people cloaks like ancient Boltons once did?
