[X]Mesmerism: the ability to influence and cloud the mind, affecting memories and perception.
[X] Shapeshifting (fog): no door is barred against you.
[X]Ritual sorcery: magic, the ability to bend the rules of the world like a cheap fork.
[X]Resistance to hunger: the only way to earn this is to have been very, very hungry. Not a pleasant power.
[X]Telepathy: the ability to speak mind-to-mind over distances and read thoughts and memories.

Question: Can we feed on animal blood and if so are there any major limitations or drawbacks?
As for write-ins:
[] Obfuscate: You can hide your presence from mortals, making yourself practically invisible and not showing up in mirrors or cameras.
[] Vegetarian: You won't bite beast or man, cause you're a vegetarian. Due to a prior botched reanimation, you must feed by consuming vegetable juice. On the plus side you have no fear of garlic.

Yes, consuming only animal blood has consequences. It can be okay as a supplement, but you think only idiots who want to die young consume only animal blood.
Obfuscate is great, vegetarian as written is delightfully silly.
Also, animal blood drawbacks: only mildly helps with hunger. Tastes mostly awful.

It's an apocalypse: Flight to get out of dead ends (pun slightly intended), resistance to hunger because apocalypse, and sorcery to bend the world to our will so those mortals will hopefully see reason and ensure we don't starve.

Morgan. You'll call yourself Morgan, in this lifetime. It's a good name.
It's too bad you don't have any overt, flashy powers – being able to fly might look faintly silly, in your opinion, but shapeshifting would be handy. As it is, you have to walk, sticking to the shadows, the grass cool on your bare feet. The evening is warm, still more dusk than night, though the sun has gone.
Daywalking is, of course, a rare and flashy power, but since other vampires can't see you do it, you don't accumulate many followers that way.
You come to the road, repaved in black with yellow and white lines, full of metal carriages with bright lights. You stare at them, hypnotized. To be honest, you want to chase them down like a dog, rip them open and get to the people inside-
You shake yourself, and catch the eye of a group of teenagers staring at you. You are still wearing a groundcloth. A nudge to their minds suggests it is fashion. They shrug and move on. Fashion, after all, is always strange. You move on quickly.
As you are crossing the two-lane bridge over the narrow river, running your hand over old sandstone, only worn down a little since last you were crossing this bridge, a woman brushes by you. She is a young woman, perhaps twenty-five, in a hurry, speaking to thin air. How mildly worrisome. She is wearing a black and white polka-dotted dress, has yellow hair, and wears a boxy blue clip in one ear.
You catch her eye. You smile. She pauses, and says, "I'll have to call you back."
"Hello, I'm Morgan."
"Lisa. Are you okay?" Her brow wrinkles, and you wonder at someone who shows honest concern for a stranger.
What a charming girl. You are not okay. You are hungry. But the sweet scent of her is not your priority, information is, you have already decided.
With a twist of intent and power, you are within her mind. You ignore her personal memories.
The date is May 11, 2001. You have missed the entirety of the 20th Century, which seems to have been a sequence of atrocity in any case. The metal carriages are cars. She is using a Bluetooth. You may need to adjust your relationship with your family of human servants, as racism is bad now.
Homosexuality is very nearly acceptable. You will have to think about that in more detail, later, it doesn't quite apply to you, in your humble opinion, but it is certainly… interesting.
She has heard nothing of the dead walking. Magic and mysticism are still believed to be nothing but old wives' tales. You will have to look elsewhere than the local population for news of your necromancy.
She sways, and you catch her arm, gently bracing her against the stone of the bridge railing. You have to be close to her to catch her. You find yourself watching her pulse.
It will cost you something to break away from weakened prey, but it will cost you something to take without consent from someone who was kind to you. In her condition, she cannot consent.
[]Walk away. You still need to go home, and you have enough willpower for this. She'll be fine, eventually. Your touch on her mind was not a butcher's work.
[]Feed lightly. In its way, this is more difficult than just leaving her be.
[]Feed heavily. You have work to do, and you will be no use to anyone if you fall over from hunger.
[]Kill her. There is no risk of discovery, not to you. Any who see will not remember, and it is still too early in the evening for any but the strongest vampires to be stirring. You will feel so much better, afterwards.
[]Write-in
Your thoughts are clouded, so you will have to rely on instinct.

It's harder to stop once you've had a taste. Better to deny ourselves entirely than risk killing someone who did nothing but stop and show us honest concern.
For the record, that's more of a comment on the mentality I'm going for than real worry that feeding on her at all risks killing her. I'm inclined to think the vote does what the vote narratively implies until shown otherwise.
Huh, is that viable even though our thoughts are clouded right now? May consider switching if so. No guarantee she'll consent, though, and isn't that basically admitting we're a vampire to a complete stranger?

Things you are aware of, even if your thoughts are clouded: it could work. There's various ways it could go horribly wrong, but it's not impossible. You could probably give it a percentage if you weren't busy thinking about being hungry.
Given our skillset, admitting we're a vampire to complete strangers is not something we consider risky.

Hm, that's tempting, then, despite the risks. Is there a reasonable chance something could happen to her if we simply walk away and leave her to her own devices, in her current state (like being left alone while very drunk)? It seems like a good compromise, if so, since our actions indirectly endangered her.

Good question! For asking a good question, you get a hint: you're not the only dead thing that's rising. The world is about to get very dangerous for your average nice human.
