So... if they don't stop getting stronger... They are basically Astartes Orcs? I mean... if there isn't a limit. They'll eventually make Primarchs look small right?

If we just keep this guy alive, how long before he's the size of The Beast?

dawn killing the thunder warriors must have taken a lot.
Well, that was the last thing they had to deal with. There were nations entirely populated by psykers that needed to be stamped out on Terra as well as a colony of Men of Iron lurking near the planet's core in old geothermal bore hole tunnels. They mostly died clearing those out.

After this action morale will have completely broken, the enemy will turn tail and run. To stop this place two of their fallen comrades' blades through their brain stems at the base of the skull, ensuring instantaneous death with two simple throws. By this point, at maximum two minutes will have elapsed. Eleven. Twelve.
In summation, all targets will have been neutralized in an economical manner and will allow for rapid acquirement of armor and proper weaponry to aid your brothers. No wounds will have been taken, and no mercy shall have been shown. All parameters met. Execute.
Its really weird that a superhuman fight like this would take 2 full minutes. Is the Church Fight from Kingsmen. I'm guestimating that its a similar level of skill difference. He got 47 kills in 3 minutes. Admittedly, he had a gun, but even still. 2 minutes for a superhuman? That seems incredibly slow. I'd have expected 30 seconds tops.

Well, for one thing the Dark Eldar aren't racist human beings from the second millenium in dress clothes on a Sunday, secondly they were Wyches with their accompanying Hekatrix. The fact it only took two minutes to kill them is quite honestly amazing.

They were described as basically not having any kind of armor at all though right? And... I'm not suggesting that killing them isn't amazing, just that... 2 minutes for a fight between beings that make humans look incredibly slow seems crazy to me.

"The xenos, who formerly were moving so fast that they had become close to blurs in your eye sight came to an almost complete stop. Their movement almost glacial as they painfully move toward you." They move super fast according to your own description of them. The fight you describe just... shouldn't take that long. A fight like this, where the Legion Master appears to take more time just rushing between different enemies than finishing them off, where nearly every movement he makes brings a tactical advantage? Just... this is happening at lightning speeds, too fast for the human eye to process.

Part of that is because quite literally all of their weapons were coated in a poison that causes pain strong enough to give Astartes heart attacks. So Tyrian had to kill all of them without letting them get a single scratch in.

But, I see your point.

I get that, just... how much faster than a human are these participants? How long would this fight last in your view if this was done by Robert Downey's Sherlock, against some assassins? That's a maybe closer example. An actual fight to the death? Those are FAST. Especially when everyone involved is competent, but hell, its pretty clear Legion Master makes these people look bad comparatively. This would go through in a whirlwind of death. Fractions of a second between actions.

I see your point, I guess I'm not good at measuring the amount of time this kind of fight would take.

Edit* Fixed it so that it only takes a few seconds.

Very few authors I've seen seem to take into account superhuman speeds when they describe fights. Its very good stuff, just this is something that bugs me in so many different books and stories I've read where fights between superhumans are supposed to take minutes long, and that just doesn't make any kind of sense just due to the sheer speed the participants operate in, and this kind of thing is bloody everywhere. I honestly can't think of a single example of someone who actually recognizes how FAST fights like this happen. So like... its a criticism, and something to think about maybe, but its very much not just you, and please don't feel as though I don't find the whole fight scene totally badass, because I definitely do. Its great writing. Just... I have a bit of a pet-peeve about timekeeping in fights like this. (Mostly due to Randidly Ghosthound, GAH! but it annoys me so much, and I've still read 800+ chapters of it.)

Suggestion that may not work out because I'm certainly no accomplished author, but for any future fight like this? Act out what you see happening in your head, figure out how long that takes you to do, and then cut that time in half to get the speed of an expert human. And then cut that speed by whatever kind of factor the participants are beyond human.

I was actually trying to add realism to Warhammer, which I only just realized was a completely inane idea. Anyway, fixed it to only take a few seconds.

Tyrian's Education
we are sherlock Holmes In Astarte form I expect nothing more
Just a heads up, despite not having the temperament for it, Tyrian's education was appropriately classical. As the Emperor had actually been hoarding books and knowledge from different civilization collapses and otherwise. So Tyrian and the others of the 5000 were educated in the classics. From the Bible and Gilgamesh all the way to the modern millenium. Tyrian having been personally tutored by Emps himself due to being picked up for the stabbing incident during the Unification Wars before the Astartes program had gone into practical testing. As such, he got a good classical education before becoming an Astartes and knows when the Emperor is cribbing from history, much to the New Man's chagrin.

Just a heads up, I will not be able to regularly post here until I am finished with two important projects for college. I apologize for the delay and will do my best to shorten it as much as possible.

WHOOOOO!

I'm finally done with the project I needed to finish for college, which means I'll be working on the interlude and posting in the next couple of days.

I'm also pretty sure I just got hired to work at the local concert grounds for the summer, with a paycheck of at least 8 dollars an hour for just five hours of work. On top of that I basically get to decide my own schedule. So I'm feeling pretty good, and as such if you guys have any questions you want to ask, I might be a bit more generous than usual about answering them. :)
