[X] Stay local

Personally I think it'd be a better idea to gain some more of the local capital since we may need to pay to get Metatron repaired and with Perral able to vouch for us that will make things easier to do. Also we should try to advance our understanding of the Belkan language to the point we can read and write it ourselves to give our cover story more weight. We may need to if we can't get our client to leave us alone for a bit so Metatron can work his magic.

[x] Bloodthorn Estate

I think Meteor is still damaged, but i can't resist the (obvious) hook and potential to get good technologies.

[X] Port Recontis

I like dimensional freighters, but I am curious what's in there or if we can even access the place.

Edit: Convinced to change vote.

If any of our parents were royalty of this dimension we would be really lucky as that would open a huge amount of opportunities for us. But I don't hold much hope.

Going to Bloodthorn right now seems like a waste, we are basically a homeless person who has chump change, what are we going to do in a rich estate community? Don't forget we have pretty much no combat power right now.

Let me list things I want to buy so that you guys can get give me some feedback and we can add or take stuff from the list.

In descending order of priority:-
- Something to do preliminary repairs on Metatron (I doubt we can fully repair him without near lost logia level tech)
- A ton of blank mana cards or a method to make them(its permanent mana storage that can be used in an emergency, so we can stockpile it in our offtime to make sure we do not run out of mana at a bad time)
- Compact automated minding drone production facility(for our empty worlds so that we can get use out of them) (AKA Mobile Shell)
- A single person foldable solar/mana power off road bike(We have been wasting so much time waking everywhere)
- A small silent wireless drone swarm with a really good camera(for scouting)
- Medical healing pod(for our personal health, I doubt we can go to a hospital after a fight so we need something like this instead)
- A high tech personal computer that is not Metatron(As a backup and alternative)

Feel free to recommend stuff that could be useful!

Can I convince you to switch your vote, its tied 4/4 right now. We can't really buy anything in Bloodthorn because we have no money and we cannot steal anything because we have no combat power. Whereas in the trade hub we will likely find a wide range of goods and tech even if its not the peak of this world. It will also have less surveillance which will let us blend in for a while longer.

But I thought that we'd get loot we could use to hold our own at this Blood place.

Wait. I'll switch my vote if yours lets us repair Meteor. Can we get him fixed?

That's my first priority, the main reason I want to go to the trade hub is to repair Metatron. We have enough stuff(our AI has) that we can probably do repairs and buy some stuff at the trade hub but I doubt the people at Bloodthorn will happily trade in low-level stuff from our world that Metatron has. And I don't think we will be able to get any loot because we do not have enough combat power to steal or raid this place.

Fine. Put me down for your vote. The trading hub thing or whatever. Long as we get him fixed.

I can't on my side, simply edit your original vote.

Its my hope we can repair Metatron asap, he is literally the lifeline for all our magic for now and he is the one that makes patterns that help us world walk in the first place. Its prudent that we repair him.

Hmm. In that case I'm super down for Port Recontis.

[x] Port Recontis.

Trek tha real MVP of the quest. Politicking his votes and shit man.

You know I am seriously afraid of our mom's side of the family, we should distance ourselves and stay hidden. Our mom was from a medieval world who world walked to the modern earth. She was only able to escape her family because our dad who was from the Noona dimension.

Our world waking is definitely a genetic trait, our mom's letter said it was recessive in the family but our dad somehow awakened it in us. What a weird ability, it uses knotwork diagrams
to somehow target worlds and cross the blind eternities. Just imagine a mafia family that can walk worlds to get techs and magic might be capable of. Who has had who knows how many years to exploit this ability no less? I hope they do not find us any time soon.

Btw we should take some time to test to see if we can carry living things along our world walks. Maybe test it on a rabbit or mice. Maybe we can task Metatron with figuring out the theory and a method of targeting specific types of worlds by making specific knotworks.

Also If we know where our mom and dad are buried we might one day be able to resurrect them using magic.

I'm liking this quest a lot so far (and I usually hate even the SLIGHTEST element of fandom in quests), but as much as I'm liking it, I'm liking Trek's speculations. Sometimes, that's the fuel that keeps the QM writing. Even if it isn't in this case, it's honestly enjoyable and refreshing watching him (her?) go. Then again, I come from a questing community where expansion on votes and investment in the world/lore is very uncommon (and even when they do it it's toxic).

Someone make Trek Speculation Quest! Do it now!

I'm a guy btw.
Speculation and planning is the heartblood of the quests I usually read, plus the mcs power really makes my blood boil, it has so much potential.

Multiverse fiction is seemingly rare in the novel world. The quests are a dime a dozen here and on SB. I agree. That's why I'm having a lot of trouble with my multiverse setting. I need to make it different.

Going to keep following this quest.

22. Port Recontis
The best apparent way forward is to travel to the coast. From your information the seaport is a hub for wet water ships and sometimes gets visits from void ships as a result.

You inform Perrel of your decision and quickly gives you directions to the local bus stop. He seems relieved you are getting out of his hair. According to him there is a regional bus service that runs once a day. It takes a fairly direct route to Port Recontis. Stepping off into the bus station you say your goodbyes.

"Fare the well."

"Bye," the farmer turns the other way and hurries away.

That was a bit rude. You ask Metatron why the man was behaving that way. What was up with him?

He thinks you are someone of high status poorly pretending to be mundane by dressing rough.

How did he come to that conclusion?

Speaking in a very formal manner with archaic Belkan words and phrases strewn across was a giveaway.

Why didn't you tell me?
You didn't realise you were slipping up, you were told this!

I was only sure after we entered the house and he hide his family.

You understand the emotions he was showing through the whole interaction. Fear and deference.

Didn't that feel good? To be respected and taken seriously?

You do not answer, moving to buy a ticket with the small sum you have.

There is a bus arrives after an hour, and the trip itself three more, during which you take a nap.

Your first impression of Port Recontis is that the small city is not the greatest port you have seen. There are numerous cargo ships in the distance, towards the horizon but the city itself is small by your standards. It is no metropolitan.

Would this place be suitable to repair you? You have to ask since urban areas seem developed.

No Alice, this world is not advanced enough. I have some destinations picked out but you must find a way offworld.

To do that we need more money.

This world is sparely inhabited but there should be a market to sell the music and art.

Right so that means selling some of these goods Metatron claims to have for more funds.

You walk around the coastal city; the architecture is alien and unfamiliar. Metatron informs you that the next void ship is due to arrive in three days. So, finding a place to stay needs to be added to the list of issues.

But first you need to see if the stuff you have is worth anything.

Who do you approach to sell the cultural goods from Earth? (Pick one or multiple)
[] A shady looking pawnbroker
[] An oily looking agent for artwork
[] The wily manager of a local radio station equivalent
[] The sly representative of a local music store chain
[] A haughty art gallery director

What character do you play with your speech and behaviour?
[] Keep up the appearance of an obvious noble pretending otherwise
[] Try to adopt the persona of a more normal person
[] Appear to be an isolated and desperate traveller
[] Multiple (mix and match)

50 Cordamar currency spent

QM Note: I will try out plan voting with this update. Vote for the plan you like most.

One for visual art, one for music, I think pretending to be a noble works out best in our interest and it'll have Metatron be most cooperative out of all options.

[X]Plan Totally a Noble

Hopefully, we can get some good money off this. I would have preferred simply selling it online without meeting anyone but it seems that not an option. Too bad we can't repair Metraton here. I thought we wouldn't be able to do full repairs but was hoping at least some low-level systems could be patched up. Oh well, let's hope we can find a higher tech world soon.
