[X] You. You are the one in charge, and Mateo was right, you're gonna have to be holding a gun at some point, you may as well get used to it now when you know you're not shooting it. Hopefully.
[X] Plan A Thief Does A Thief's Job
-[X] Mateo keeps the getaway vehicle warm and ready to go.
-[X] Rafael goes up the fire escape and takes care of the security system(alarms, cameras) as he sees best from the roof entry. Once thats done he can go ahead and ransack the place for valuables.
-[X] Once Rafael got what he can find, you approach from the front, smash the door open, smash the windows, mirrors(its a barbershop, theres huge mirrors), grab whatever loot is left and haul ass to the car.
-[X] If an alarm goes off or otherwise loud unmistakable attention is drawn, cease the looting, just make sure every large and visible piece of glass has at least a nice fracture in the middle, and leave immediately once Rafael is out(smashing the door helps)
-[X] If you run across anyone, just threaten them with the gun to shut up and sit right. Talk as little as possible, you don't want anyone recognizing your voice. Shoot only if someone is coming at you with a weapon.

Given more time I think we'd have wanted to case the place in daylight to get a look at the inside, but given what we have to work with...good enough

Have our thief deal with stealing, and then start smashing. Might also want to slash the seats if they're leather (or really anything but plastic). They either have to replace them or make ugly patches. And the former is often not cheep.

Chapter 1 Update 11
Sorry for the delay and for the spelling errors. My laptop has been acting up so I updated from my phone. I'll go back through this and fix it up when I get back home.
~~~~~~~~~
"Sounds good to me." Mateo said after listening to your plan. "We should probably exchange numbers just so we can keep each other posted on what's going on."
You all exchanged phone numbers and headed back out to the barbershop.
"It looks like the place is still closed." You said, the three of you still in the car. All of the lights in the barber were out. As you squinted at the front doors you could see the sign read 10:30 - 7:30 pm. It was currently 9:15 right now. You had a decent window of time to get in and out, maybe less if this Hugo guy likes to show up early.
Hopefully not.
Hugo sleeping in: Roll 40 + 20 (Lucky bastard) = 60 Success
Mateo pulled up to the back lot. Rafael put on his ski mask and opened the door.
"Good luck." You wished him as he got up.
"Fortuna? This is child's play to me bambino." He scoffed before closing the door.
"Hey kid, you nervous?" Mateo asked as he watched Rafael climb the fire escape.
"Not really." You lied. Maybe a little bit. Or a lot. You haven't been able to stop your legs from shaking the whole ride. The cold steel of the pistol tucked in between your briefs and jeans wasn't helping either.
"You don't have to lie to me." He muttered. "I'm sitting right in front of you, you've been shaking my seat this whole fucking time."
"Sorry."
"Don't sweat it. Everyone's nervous their first job." He admitted. "My hands were so sweaty my first job I almost swerved into a parked car."
"Rafael will be fine though, right?"
"Kid if anything, the only thing that goof knows how to do is steal. I'm not worried about him at all." He laughed. "You'll be fine too. All you have to do is just smash a bunch of stuff. Just go let off some of that pent up misunderstood adolescent anger that you see in sitcoms."
You laughed and felt yourself ease up a bit.
"Are you and Rafael friends?" You asked. "You seem to be on good terms."
"Eh, not really." Mateo yawned. "More like close acquaintances. Due to our particular skill-sets I usually end up working with Rafael for most of our jobs. I wouldn't say we're friends or anything but I definitely get along with him better than any of the other psychos in the group."
"Is it really that bad?" You sighed, thinking about your uncles constant jokes about the division.
"All I'll say is that this bunch definitely has some... characters to say the least." He responded, leaning back in his seat.
Beep
You looked down at your phone to a text from Rafael.
Rafael's Infiltration: Roll 95 + 40 (Master Thief bonus) = 135 Artificial Crit
Shop is all good! Alarms and cameras taken care of! Some pesky ones in there but easy to me!
Good job. Is it my turn to head inside?
Not yet bambino. Tell Mateo to open up the trunk. I got some goodies to bring back.
Rafael had easily disconnected the security cameras and alarms. He even managed to break into the security room upstairs and steal the security tape for the day so there was no footage of Mateo's car pulling in. He then brought in about four 35' inch flat-screen TVs from inside. He also broke into a safe in the boss's office that held about $1000.
"You're up bambino." Rafael grunted as he hauled the last TV inside the trunk.
Brownsville Police Arrival: 27 + 20 (Lucky Charms) = 47 Success
"Y-yup." You stuttered as you donned your ski mask and picked up the metal bat next to you. It was a bit difficult to get out of the car with the pistol in your pants. You gained a new respect for all of the criminals that you had seen casually walk around with one like it was no big deal.
"Hurry up. We'll be in the front." Mateo said as Rafael got in the car and they pulled out of the back lot. You walked in through the back door that Rafael had already picked open. You figured it made more sense to go through the back instead of walking out in the open in front of the store with a ski mask and metal bat in your hand.
Coming through the back you saw a small office to your right, a staircase to your left which you assumed led to the security room, and a hallway directly in front of you leading you to the barber. It was a rather nice barbershop but it was rather barren now that Rafael had stolen the TVs. There was your typical barbershop stuff like leather chairs, mirrors, and barber equipment on the counter but other than that nothing of significant value. There was a gumball machine in the corner of but you doubted it was really worth anything.
Well, it's time to break shit.
Smashing all of the glassware inside of the shop was way more fulfilling than you had initially thought. There was just an indescribable primal thrill that coursed through your body as you swung the bat aimlessly at the glass doors and windows. You moved on to the mirrors with glee, almost getting cut in the process. You finally headed up to the gumball machine and with your best A-Rod impersonation, took a mighty swing at the glass dome, leading to a wonderful burst of glass and gumballs. You picked up a scattered gumball from the counter, satisfied with your work.
Neighbors showing up: 4 + 20 (not so lucky) = 24 Failure
Right as you were about to leave you saw a balding middle age man walk up to the front, examining the broken windows. He was on the heavier side and definitely didn't seem like any kind of threat.
"Hey Hugo." He mumbled, still looking down. "What the hell is going on here! I was making myself a cup of joe before I opened up shop and all I could hear was this ruckus next door. It's too early in the morni-"
By the time he lifted his head up, you had already placed the bat on the ground. Your pistol was drawn on the fat man.
"W-wait!" The man cried out. "Please don't shoot me! I have a wife and kids! I won't say anything! I swear!"
Your heart was racing at this point. Not just from the smashing spree you'd just went on but the adrenaline of holding the gun with purpose. Just the feeling of it in your hands gave you a sense of power. You had the leverage for how you want to handle this situation. You should try to be quick though....
What should you do?
[] Just run to the car and get the hell out of here. This guy seemed too freaked out to do anything.
[] Take whatever valuable possessions he has on him and get out of here.
[] Try to lock him inside Hugo's office. He shouldn't be able to do anything until Hugo gets here.
[] This adrenaline rush... there's nothing like it... you wonder what it would feel like to shoot him...
[] Write-in.
  • [X] Tell him to go home and say that he did not see anything, and if he feels like talking we know where his shop/home is.
    -[X] Grab what you brought and book it
The only thing I am worried about with the current running away option is that the guy might be able to describe the car we're using to the police. Perhaps we should have him running back into his store, might make it harder for him to catch certain details.
Edit: I have been convinced of taking this plan.
Did we have gloves on? Might want to take the bat with us if we didn't. The cops probably won't care to get prints off it if we didn't, but better safe than sorry.
I'd say get his cellphone out of his pocket and smash it, but the guy might not have walked over with it.
If we tell him to get on his knees and not fucking move or do anything stupid if he wants to see his family again, then book it we should be fine.
Pretty sure the car is out front, so he might be running past it if he leaves.
He should work up the courage to move a bit after we leave, so this should be fine
We're supposed to be robing the store, it would be better if we still him too, so that nobody can say we destroyed the store for no reason.
