Mind explaining to those of us slower than Anja?
Thanks, but I think we've had enough of that.[X] As a personal favour, ask J6 to please let Owusu be the one to bring the report forward.
Because I want to continue the trend of Amani doing what is to the best of her knowledge the right thing and unknowingly making things worse.

Someone leaked the report, yes, but Owusu submitted that report to station authorities years ago:
"I did," he says, mildly. "Two years ago. I was first sent to this posting in order to evaluate the security of the station and draft a report on improvements. They fixed the really egregious problems, but some things got lost in the bureaucratic shuffle, or weren't deemed economical. I checked this morning -- still hasn't been fixed." He smiles sardonically.
Privacy is fine with Mosi. And the corner of the atrium she's sitting in does allow that. It's a video deadzone, helpfully located for her by the leaked SRI report provided to them by the mysterious Anchiale spy has leaked to them. Everytime Mosi reads it, clicking through countess admonishments of "STRICT CONFIDENTIALITY", "STATE LEVEL SECURITY" and "DISSEMINATION AN ACT OF TREASON UNDER--" never fails to impart a twinge of sympathy for the SRI operative who had to painstakingly write it. Considering that the people M. Owusu had handed the report to either didn't take the warnings at all seriously… or had never been on his side to begin with. It would be easy to take instances like this and assume that the enemy is, as a whole, stupid. Mosi makes very certain to remember that this is too dangerous a mindset to let herself fall into.
It shouldn't take long to rope in Owusu, and there's no reason to think the attack will happen in the next couple hours (which would be too little time to prepare, anyway).[X] Let J6 tell the princess first.
I don't think we neccesarily have the time to let Owusu make the report himself. At least there should be enough debriefings that we can make the truth clear when the time comes.
... Though our name not being the one who discovered the attack would undoubtably make things easier for Mosi. Hopefully their source isn't all encompassing enough to catch this.
That, and she would be familiar with them enough to know that Mosi's indentations were from a state-of-the-art suit like the one Ito showed. Not ones that came from civillian models.Amani asked Lori what the painful-looking indentations on her arms were, and she commented that it was from her pilot suit and it's machine interface. Anja, as someone whose almost brother was a pilot and also had those marks, would undoubtedly be familiar with them.
In Amani's thoughts about reaching out to Owusu she notes that she has "no doubt [J6 will] call the princess regardless". Owusu will also undoubtedly want to contact Princess Daystar via J6 too, as he previously mentioned he lacks the means to contact the Princess privately:[X] Let J6 tell the princess first.
I ... think letting us have primary credit along with J6 is better for us here. Owusu is already set both politically and for his career. As long as Amani doesn't pull a Mazlo and leave him out of the credit entirely Owusu.
Owusu sighs, scratching the back of his head as he considers how to respond. "I could, but I don't actually know where the leak is, internally. I don't have enough information yet to be able to act decisively enough to disregard it." He smiles again a little ruefully. "Unless you know how to get a secure message to Princess Daystar that you know she'll listen to."
You stare. "The princess?"
"Yes," he says, "I'd at least know she's trustworthy in all this. It's her head up on the block if her great uncle ever takes over the system, and I can even somewhat reliably expect she'd keep it to herself while she's here. She and the local administration do not precisely see eye to eye -- she's a little too enthusiastic about certain reforms for their taste."
In my case isn't a question about keeping Owusu in the loop, its the question of who gets primary credit. If Owusu presents it Owusu will get primary credit, even if he is completely honest about how much work Amani did. If J6 presents it right now, Amani will be the one whose name is in the forefront of those who see whom is responsibility. If Amani wants to be more then a junior scanner tech in the foreseeable future she needs the clout that bringing this to the attention of her superiors. In Amani's thoughts about reaching out to Owusu she notes that she has "no doubt [J6 will] call the princess regardless". There's no doubt Amani will receive credit. Her name is sure to come up during J6's briefing, if Amani isn't physically present herself. The question is whether Owusu will be cut out of the decision loop, at least in the initial stages of the response, which will deprive us of his advice and expertise.
I think it's well worth keeping Owusu in the loop if it means we may have a better chance of thwarting Mosi's infiltrator team.
J6 is the primary point of contact with the Princess so it will be up to her to present anything we find, and J6 has much more to speak of Amani than of Owusu, whom she's never met. Even if Amani weren't there in person J6 would naturally emphasize Amani's role due to sheer familiarity. Neither Amani's thoughts nor the prompts express any doubt as to whether Amani will get her share of the credit, only whether Owusus will.In my case isn't a question about keeping Owusu in the loop, its the question of who gets primary credit. And why wouldn't Roth be afraid? Beyond the fate of his team, the invasion can't afford to falter or stall for any amount of time. They have to crush the pretender's forces on schedule. There are no supply lines past the edge of Saturn's orbit. No second fleet on its way from Jupiter. The sheer amount of resources it takes to field such an invasion over those distances isn't a trick that can be made twice in a hurry. If the initial thrust of the invasion is turned aside, they're very likely all dead.
"The invasion they're making reference to," J6 explains. "It doesn't say anything about how they're going to handle the defence platforms. They make anything like a simple frontal assault too costly to be worthwhile." She stares into space again for a moment, as if running through the data for anything you might have missed. Not finding it, she reaches up, braces herself and removes the cable snaking its way into her temple. She winces as she does so, gritting her teeth against whatever pain and disorientation this always seems to cause her. "Still," she says, speaking more slowly than usual, eyes squeezed shut as if to combat a sudden vertigo, "we should report this." Seemingly, the aftereffects were hitting her a lot harder than last time.
The leak almost certainly lies with the administration onboard the station, though. Exactly the sort of people Princess Daystar is probably meeting with. Also, liable to leak any emergency call for reinforcements the Princess makes if not handled with discretion.[X] Let J6 tell the princess first.
1. There is a potential leak
2. It is too important to wait with this info
I think mistakenot makes a good point here. J6 has identified that the plans that we have identified do not show any means of dealing with the defense platforms. Owusu knows what the security vulnerabilities are on this station. He literally wrote the book on them that the infiltrators are using. The princess is going to have to call other people in on this anyway to help deal with the problem and that will potentially expose any plans that are made to the spies on station. Bringing an intel operative in from the start may allow us to minimize operational exposure and Owusu's specific experience with station security holes would be useful in directing efforts in the most optimal fashion.Princess Daystar can call for reinforcements, but would she know how to counter espionage? Given all that's at stake, I think gaining Owusu's expertise is well worth sharing a little well-deserved credit.
