We need to get comms up asap.

[X] Colosseum? What's that?

I was considering the overdell, but that's maaaaaybe not a good idea until everyone can at least digivolve to champion and we can get ourselves out of a potentially bad situation. Don't know anything about a colosseum, but if theres some sort of tournament going on, well, we're gonna be here a few days anyway. Also, tournaments are great places to scope out information. At least, they are according to anime, which suits the situation.

Excerpts From Myotismon's Diary
It has been three months since I Digivolved from Bakemon. In that time, the others have crowned me the leader of the Overdell. They are rather simpleminded, as was I when I was amongst them, so having someone to guide them will likely do a world of good.

It is trying, however, to figure out just how much we have. Nobody ever thought to quantify our supplies of food before, the stocks constantly changing through a mix of discoveries and appetite. Even when I was Impmon, I didn't eat as much as some of these ghosts do, and yet we never seem to run out. Most perplexing.

On another note, I should probably do something about the Black Gears in the basement. While they seem inactive, it would be rather annoying to have most of my new servants randomly turn feral- or myself, for that matter.

The island has been in turmoil recently. A group of Digimon seemed to be intent on settling at the base of Infinity Mountain for a while, and it looked like they might succeed, albeit limitedly. Certainly, they were never going to get above village size.

It probably shouldn't have ended how it did, either. One of the three Ultimates in the town Digivolved to the Mega level, and wiped out all of the Digimon residing there. A freak accident, most likely. I remember Soulmon from when he lived here, after all, and he was always fairly polite, if taking a bit too much stock in the fact that his species had a higher average intellect.

Pity about what happened, really. I could see the explosions from my mansion- I never would have thought he'd have it in him, to aim for Machinedramon as his Mega form.

Still, that era is over now. Best to focus on the present.

There was a visitor at the mansion today. A human visitor, followed closely by her Digimon partner, an Agumon. The two of them were in deep discussion until they reached my doorstep, at which point the girl did all the talking, in all the formalities of our world.

Her name is Maki Himekawa, and she and her partner are the ones who defeated the being throwing this island into turmoil, though they both refuse to disclose the details. If anything, they seemed to be warning me ahead of time not to double-cross them- confident in my power though I may be, even
I am not foolish enough to challenge a VictoryGreymon.

The girl has come to me to ask for teachings. She wishes to learn about the writings of the world, and how they interact. My Digicode expertise is rusty, but I can recall enough to be useful, and they say that time will not be a problem.

In truth, I am still unsure as to why I accepted. Certainly, as ruler over the Overdell Mansion and the Bakemon that call the area their home, I should be looking out for my own above all else. Perhaps it is a desire for more intelligent company than the Bakemon, perhaps it is gratitude for their defeat of SkullGreymon all that time ago, and their more recent victory. I do not know.

What I
do know is that my life is about to become very busy.

Some time ago, Maki started bringing an old computer with her to her lessons. She would not say anything when questioned about it, and when I turned to Agumon to ask, he just said that it was something personal to her.

Perhaps I should have questioned him further, but if I've learned anything in all the time that they've been coming here, it is that the two of them never do anything without reason. The human especially. Even rebuilding File City into a place worthy of the title came about as a conscious decision, with every Digimon having a particular place and purpose, at least according to the liaison I've stationed there.

I found out the purpose for this today. Perhaps I should have tried harder to get answers from her when she started taking more of an interest in symbols related to time and health, but her general good nature was enough for me to trust in her.

The results are... certainly something, I would say. After all, it's likely not many DigiDestined who can claim to have
two Digimon partners.

Today at tea, Maki brought up the idea of research into other worlds- of portals between the two. It is not that surprising to hear- after all, it has been years, even by human standards, since she went home- but the island itself offers little beyond the space over File City that she and Agumon fell through when they first arrived.

It is an interesting idea. I would certainly enjoy seeing what kind of world could produce such intriguing company as Maki Himekawa and her Agumon. Tapirmon has never been, but he also wants to see the place that his partner comes from... or, perhaps, he misses his human friends from their time travelling with the Sovereigns.

It seems like a hopeless dream, with how long it has been since a portal last opened on its own, yet it is still something to consider.

Experimentation on the Crest of Light ended in failure. I was lucky enough to escape the explosion without a scratch. Maki twisted her ankle, Agumon was concussed, and Tapirmon was forced to revert to Tokomon in order to recover from his wounds.

The Crest has since vanished. While we are certain that it probably can't be permanently destroyed, it seems to be lost, at least for the time being.

We have also sworn off of experimenting further on the other Crest in our possession, at least until we can ensure that this will not happen again.

While I was exploring the western parts of Server today- really, parts of it are actually in Baihumon's territory- I came across an old castle. Preliminary investigation showed no signs of life, despite being in near perfect condition, so I delved deeper.

At the bottom of the castle, there was a large door with a pedestal in front of it that, no matter what I did, would not open. It reminded me of stories Maki used to tell shortly after Tapirmon's resurrection, of the castle that held the gate she used to return to her world with her friends.

This could very well be the same castle. I will send for Maki and her Digimon at once.

...I'm so sorry...

My guess is that they accidentally unsealeled the Dark Masters, or at least weakened the seal enough for something catastrophic to happen.

i don't know how i should feel about this.

Myotismon not evil! Maki (probably) alive! Tapirmon lives again! She has TWO PARTNERS!

and at the end, apparently, disaster

Well, Tapirmon lived again, so that's good!

...unfortunately, if they managed to open the door and got the wrong combination, who KNOWS what ended up happening. That door led to any number of alternate dimensions depending on the code, if I recall correctly, and if was left like that... hell, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a sudden crossover. Nothing we can do to predict that, if that is what happened.

[X] Visit the Overdell. You have an open invitation, after all.

And now that's over with...

Let's see if we can somehow avoid turning this into a- okay, let's be honest. You're going to turn this into a Tournament Arc whatever I do. Let's at least make it a fun one.

A Proper Distraction
Boredom is fast to set in with you and your friends.

You're not going anywhere without Mimi. You know this. She's an adventurous spirit, and would probably break you if you were to leave her behind. Not even on purpose, but if anyone would have their partner reach a new form for no reason other than to stop being left behind, and cause huge amounts of collateral damage, it would be her.

So you can't leave town for an extended amount of time. It's not like there's a problem getting about from day to day, but you can't just sit around the treehouse all day. If only because you're positive there must be something better to do in town.

So you take to walking the streets of File City, Biyomon close behind you just as much for protection as to satisfy her curiosity. While you're certain most of the Digimon around can be trusted, there's always the risk of a few who can't, as is normal in a town of this size. Not that you're particularly worried about that. The residents of the town seem to be hardcoded to treat humans with respect, after all.

Not that this gives you free reign or anything. The gates to the one climbable path up Infinity Mountain on this side of the island are still locked tight, and probably for good reason, if that's where most of the Gears come from.

It doesn't matter to you, though. Infinity Mountain currently holds no interest to you, although Tai thinks that the view should be something incredible. If you want pretty sights, you'll ask Birdramon to fly you, simple as that.

What currently interests you is fairly close to the base of the mountain, actually. The training facilities apparently started as a small gym, at least according to the oldest Digimon, but it now takes up a great deal of land, including a large building.

An arena, you'd call it, back in your world. The more combat-oriented Digimon in this one insist on referring to it as The Colosseum, capitals included. Comfortable seating, a floor wide enough to fit several apartment blocks, and salesmon insisting that you buy tasteless snacks. And that's just what you figure out in the first fifteen minutes- they're not very good at this whole 'subtlety' thing.

The biggest attraction of The Colosseum is apparently the tournaments. Simple combat, ranging from one-on-one to teams of three, with the doubles in particular being known for interesting competitors. Divided by level, of course, though a Digimon or team could choose to participate in a higher level if they wanted. You assume there's some sort of safety precautions there.

"No entry fee," Biyomon comments. Yes, you'd noticed that. It's actually fairly enticing, though with prizes derived from ticket and snack sales, winning likely wouldn't extend your stay in town by that much.

You're still tempted, though.

@SeekerofDreams are there bigger prizes for the team fights? Something particularly interesting in any of the different categories?

We do have Both a Greymon AND an Angemon that could help us in case
