Hmm, when I come up with the dumbest and most embarrassing thing to say, I'll return and make it a vote.
Hmm. It seems when I was a teenager it was the other way around. Is this what nostalgia feels like?

Hm, too tired to put down a proper vote, but I'd say the two topics most likely to spring to mind are Cherry, if we want to go all in on the embarrasment and matching undertones, or Ley, if we want to somewhat regain composure in the conversation.

Kinda leaning to something along the lines of "Until now, I've only been spending time with Cherry, so there wasn't anything to dislike." Which I'd imagine gives Alva plenty of room for teasing (and thus amusement) without having Johanna dig herself in too far on accounts of saying embarrasing stuff.

Still not gonna make a judgement call on that until I got some hours of sleep in. For all I know that's gonna look like a terrible idea by the time tomorrow rolls around.

Hm. I kind of like that- it manages to not necessarily feel like an overdone sort of flustered joke, but can still lead to flustered times. It helps that currently (keeping my options open) I'm on the Cherry/Protag wagon[1] because the two are pretty cute together- like that domestic scene at the beginning was delightful.

So before you can wake up and regret it, I'm going to try and make it into a bandwagon. Your move, Edgedancer.

[x] "Until now, I've only been spending time with Cherry, so there wasn't anything to dislike."

1. I like how like... two updates ago I was like "Hahaha this is totally SV but let's not assume she's gay." Welp GG me.

[X] "Until now, I've only been spending time with Cherry, so there wasn't anything to dislike."

Well, don't assume she's lesbian! She can be bi :B

Binge this and I immediately start trying to think up Ley combinations. :V

Definitely an SV quest. Ganbatte Anya!

They're all revolving around Shade of course because I imagine it synergizes with our Magic.

I'm also wondering how this world works. I mean, you think these combinations would have been made before and be well known, but maybe they just never had a place like Font where they just get all the Ley and can afford to experiment until recently. Or they've been too busy with the Forces of Darknesstm.

Ley Combos?

Shade + Ice = Literally a Freezing Fog
Shade + Earth = A dense orb of raw darkness that sticks to the ground
Shade + Water = A black, oily water ley. No one wanted to try setting it on fire in the middle of the shop.
Shade + Fire = A burning fog (+something = that clings to what it touches [Not sure if Lightning, Earth, Ice, or potentially Water (with Shade acting as the buffer between the two) works better for that]).
Shade + Lightning + Air + Water = Horrible Thunderstorm in a Bottle!

I was thinking Shade + Lightning might be some kind of Black Lightning, but I'm not sure what properties that might have... maybe Lightning that follows your shadow and strikes out at those around it?

And I have no idea what the tastes would be like.

Black Lightning can simply be a "counter" lightning. After all, in many cultures and even in some games lightning is a LIGHT power, instead of air or it's own, so our Black version could simply be attunned to shade instead, bringing a moment of darkness instead of light, and silencing everything nearby instead of exploding with sound. It seems delightfull, in my mind.

[x] Do... you come here often? ...Ah! As in, uh, buying fire ley?!

Because the idea of us being off-balance enough to make a accidental comment like that both is plausible and amuses me.

I've seen a quest on here where the OP rolled a weighted d100 for the female protags sexuality. 1-5 was a lesbian, 6-15 was bi, 16-100 was hetero. The dice landed on lesbian. The thread reached the perfectly logical conclusion that the dice gods themselves have decided to enforce the stereotype and adjusted the then on-going vote (which was for a marriage arrangement) accordingly.

Well, don't assume she's lesbian! She can be bi :B

Well, the downside to that is that it increases the possibility of falling for Mr. Generiji Isekai, which is a fate we must avoid at all costs!

Ohh my, we must make HIM fall for us! And then just let him rot with dreams of having us, while we party elsewhere and fix the world! Or break it, whatever gathers our fancy at the time.

I do feel obligated to observe that such a plan is more contingent on his sexuality then ours. :V

... SV's going to go for the first girl to pop up again. Granted, Cherry's a pretty good one so far, but still.

From an objective view, first impressions are pretty important and I imagine that the being the first person we meet magnifies the impact of a good first impression. Therefore the fact that Cherry is both the first person we've met and that our first impression of her is really good has probably. It is interesting to compare this to the usual fictional genre convention, where the first girl the protag meets usually loses in a subsequent love triangle.

Humerous commentary aside, I do ultimately agree that it is a bit early to be finding Johanna's waifu (or husbando, as unlikely as that is) though.

Yeah. Having the local jesus-kun steal all of our agency would kind of suck. Or worse, steal Cherry's.

I've been a little away from SV for awhile, so remind me: why isn't people going for harem? Why must choose a single one when clearly only the protag could be better than us?

Because Harems are (usually) silly (they can work in political intrigue and settings with ancient nobles and the like where having a wife and concubines/mistresses fits). Also, they end up sexualizing the participating members at least a little whenever they are brought up, so it's best to just avoid them.

I can't speak for the rest of SV but I dislike harems on principle because they entail an inherent power imbalance, regardless of the respective sexes/genders involved. Equality is an important aspect of a healthy romantic relationship, right up there with good communication.

So if we do wind up in a triangle/dodecahedron situation focused on us, which are the most likely situations that end in a harem, I'm gonna be biased towards votes that steer us towards eventually getting together with the candidate I feel is best and letting the rest gently but firmly (or firmly but not gently if the person is gonna be violent about it).

It is, I just like the idea. Also, he's the protag, it's obvious he will be attracted to the only girl who isn't attracted to him.

Your traditional Isekai protagonist (and from all we know BlackHair McNoPersonality is one), is one of two things when it comes to romance.

Incomprehensibly, implausibly oblivious.

Or a massive pervert.

Well, any romantic setup has sexuality involved, or it wouldn't be true romance, only a imaginary one. But I do see your point.

Honestly, I'm not surprised by this. Keep in mind this advice from the Isekai Anime Survival Guide:

I liked the video, thank the Anime Pope for me xD Also, are you liing all comments on the thread? o.o

For a real relationship? Harem is ridiculous and shouldn't ever be attempted. For something fantastical, magical and unreal? It's a diferent perspective, one where we can, and should, do things we can't on our real life. Roleplaying came to be exactly because of that, we must hear of and experiment with things beyond what life gives to us, be it because the world has changed with time, we don't have the resources or the world simply don't work that way. Quests are an extension to that, and thus you choosing to not experience a little of everything is, most of the time, simply caging yourself from finding more abotu yourself. Even if you end up not liking something, trying it once in a no consequences situation will help you better understand why and what part you don't like, leading you so becoming better.

That said, I got a lil bit philosophical here... Anyway: Try new things, and don't worry if they are right or wrong in quests or rps. Roleplaying a villain for my friends campaign of rpg was one of the most enlightening situations in my life. Also, go ahead and vote against Harem, I probably will only vote for what I'm feeling lie at the time xD
