Your birth is tumultuous, coruscating ripples of colorful energy coalescing in stark contrast to the plane of infinite grey and black. A process that you are aware of from the very instant it begins, as much a part in your own creation as whatever sparked it, something that you even now in your unfinished state can feel tickling the edges of your senses, calling to you from beyond this bleak existence.

You can hear the voice but you cannot give it context yet. It is not of you, and you are not of this place. Filled with the corpses of worlds that were never meant to be, creations left unfinished, aborted gods smothered in their cradles. All melding together to form this lurid non-existence in which you are being born. A bright star woven from nothing but your own prodigious will, shaping new thought processes as you even create your own mind in a paradoxical display of self-creation. Yet, for all this you can feel energy coming from somewhere, your newly formed mental faculties connecting the strangely insistent voice to the energy feeding your creation.

It grows louder even as it grows fainter. A prayer, some process involved in your creation tells you, a pure, desperate prayer giving birth to yourself, a god. But it is fading, the supplicant losing strength, the desperate plea for help giving you life seeming to quiver in response to whatever is happening as if though about to disappear. Something you cannot abide.
You cast your newly formed senses outwards, turning your vast yet simultaneously insignificant (Compared to what it could be) cognition towards piercing the veil between this un-reality and the material realm that the prayer stems from.

You can not let your first and only worshipper die, you will NOT become another stillborn deity lost for all of time in this bleak void. You know you will not have the full powers you should have afforded to a deity of your status, but you still abort the last bits of your own creation process, sacrificing the energy to tear open a hole through the void between worlds, forcing your nascent body through the portal through a raw effort of your divine will. A screaming, tearing noise not heard since the creation of the universe heralds your coming into this reality, joined moments later by a blazing flame lighting half the worlds hemisphere as your raw divinity descends upon the world of your worshipper. You suspect whatever passes for astronomers among the societies of this planet will speak of this event for years to come, but that is an irrelevant thought. Nothing else matters right now but reaching your sole worshipper in time to save them from the fate that awaits them without your intervention.

First off, this is not B&W completely, more like B&W inspired. Which is to say that this is not an empire building quest but will instead focus on one character or a small group of characters primarily. This also means mechanics from B&W are not all going to be imported, but rather inspired by them.
Secondly, updates will always have voting open for at least 24hrs before a new chapter is posted, but may go on for longer should a chapter take longer to write or if a choice is of vital importance to the quest.
Thirdly, despite deities and divinity being a central theme of this quest, please do not derail it into any discussions about real life religions. Mention of them or using them as examples is fine, but let's not have any 12-page arguments about religion X or Y please.

General mechanics:
The rules of this quest are light, it will focus more on your choices and their consequences/impact than resource management. Mana is your only true resource, and if any option costs mana to perform, it will be listed next to the option. Write-ins may be assigned a mana cost if applicable. This is to prevent every problem from being blasted away with the equivalent of a divine sandblaster and to encourage you to let your mortals think and act for themselves under your guidance, rather than having you solve all their problems for them.
Rolls will come up periodically during the quest, particularly for confrontations between mortals.
The quest is not designed to have "AHA, GOT YOU" moments wherein any given option leads to failure and death. The only way for the quest to end in failure is if all your mortal worshippers die, something that will not happen without warning or chance to interfere.
XP is awarded for progression, be it personal progression for your worshippers, story progression or you managing to progress in your goals (whatever they may be).
Omakes are allowed and very welcome, with well written/thought out ones earning themselves canon status. Regardless, an omake of non-insignificant length rewards a small amount of XP.

The lowest level of avatar does not allow for it to deliver any harm to mortals, be it direct or indirect. A single appearance is also chosen on purchase for the avatars appearance. Further upgrade lessens and eventually removes the restriction on violence, and each upgrade grants another appearance to be chosen on purchase.
Miracles 2 20xp: Unlocks all tier 2 miracles for purchase Miracles bypass your usual restriction of not interacting with mortals. So long as you continue acting in a benevolent manner, all miracles related to healing and protection will be at half price, while all miracles related to destruction and killing will be double price.
Hand of God 2 20xp: Increases the duration of Hand of God to two minutes, and doubles the weight allowance to 100kg.
Prophecy 1 10xp: Allows you to spend 5 mana to get a short glimpse into the future to get a hint to the outcome of any action, additionally you will receive a forewarning shortly before calamitous events are about to befall your worshippers. Can be passed on to a mortal worshipper through miracle sharing.
Minor Miracles 5xp: The result of patching together parts of the divinity you lost in aborting your creation, this allows you to bequeath a mortal with one or more minor miracles, too small in scale for you to safely be able to use them and similarly small in effect. The bright side is they do not drain your mana. Each time this is purchased, 3 more minor miracles will be rolled and added to the character sheet.
Create Quirk 20xp: At the cost of spending 1 maximum mana permanently, you can create a brand new quirk in a mortal. The quirk can be anything, but cannot do anything you could not achieve with miracles.

Divine Aegis (1mp) 5xp: imposes a shimmering, golden shield of your divinity in a shape you desire anywhere in a 10M radius, it can cover the whole area if desired. Lasts for 10 minutes.
Inspiring Presence (2mp) 10xp: A mortal of your choosing within range of a worshipper is imbued with a spark of divine radiance, making them seem larger than life for 24H. Increases targeted mortals social checks to inspire, command and lead other mortals.
Matter Creation (5mp) 15xp: Allows you to magically conjure up to 10kg of non-living matter. The matter does not need to be contiguously connected, but cannot be spread out in a space larger than 1 cubic meter. Only chemically stable matter can be created this way.

Divine Aegis (1mp) 5xp: imposes a shimmering, golden shield of your divinity in a shape you desire anywhere in a 10M radius, it can cover the whole area if desired. Lasts for 10 minutes.
Inspiring Presence (2mp) 10xp: A mortal of your choosing within range of a worshipper is imbued with a spark of divine radiance, making them seem larger than life for 24H. Increases targeted mortals social checks to inspire, command and lead other mortals.
Matter Creation (5mp) 15xp: Allows you to magically conjure up to 10kg of non-living matter. The matter does not need to be contiguously connected, but cannot be spread out in a space larger than 1 cubic meter. Only chemically stable matter can be created this way.

General mechanics:
The rules of this quest are light, it will focus more on your choices and their consequences/impact than resource management. Mana is your only true resource, and if any option costs mana to perform, it will be listed next to the option. Write-ins may be assigned a mana cost if applicable. This is to prevent every problem from being blasted away with the equivalent of a divine sandblaster and to encourage you to let your mortals think and act for themselves under your guidance, rather than having you solve all their problems for them.
Rolls will come up periodically during the quest, particularly for confrontations between mortals.
The quest is not designed to have "AHA, GOT YOU" moments wherein any given option leads to failure and death. The only way for the quest to end in failure is if all your mortal worshippers die, something that will not happen without warning or chance to interfere.
XP is awarded for progression, be it personal progression for your worshippers, story progression or you managing to progress in your goals (whatever they may be).
Omakes are allowed and very welcome, with well written/thought out ones earning themselves canon status. Regardless, an omake of non-insignificant length rewards a small amount of XP.
