[X] Tricking The Lonely Ancestor Into Giving A Secret Name - The hunters named Valley Trick, River Secret and Mountain Greatness went to the lonely ancestor, clad like wolves with fur of bloody red and tricked him to believe they had returned from a great hunt. They asked of him that he give them a name so that the other wolves would know of them, and he named them to be Kin to Air for their swiftness, but found the wolves to laugh at him before they ran and gave their people the name he had given them.

[X] Take All Of Them

[X] A Name Carried From An Old Home - The ancestors of the ancestors had been carried across the Greatest Water by the boatsman named Wind, who had named them to be like his sister Air in their virtue, and she kissed them all once, before they went to lie with the sisters River, Valley and Mountains who begat their children. Then they were the Kin to Air, for they had kissed with Air and thus became her beloved under the open, starlit sky.

[X] Take One Of Them - Pillars of stone are heavy, but the blessing of a spirit is a powerful thing, and to deny even one would be foolish. However foreign they are, the people are no fools, and should they be malicious, they are sure that the matrons can fight them with the backing of the ancestors and their ancestors.

[X] Take All Of Them - No matter the weight of icons, this triat of spirits is proposing their aid at the cost of carrying them. While they are foreign, the power of them to have such a sanctuary like this, must be very great, and denying them could only be the move of a fool.

Why have ONE spirit when you can take the hard option and have ALL the spirits?

Don't like tricks being recorded as good. A spirit of strength and stamina would complement air well, what is wind but forceful and persistent?

Hmmm. This is somewhat similar to the story of Prometheus, but cutting away the punishment at the end and thus the martyrdom. It also says that we trick a name from Wolven Dream, since he is the lonely ancestor.

[ ] Heroes Finding A Name In Distant Lands - When the people left their old home, they were in turn beset by the Great Women named Valley Trick, River Secret and Mountain Greatness, who wished to own the people in soul and body, but the people saw through their tricks and beat their hunters, for their own wore cloaks of wolven red, which intimidated even the mighty hunters of the Great Women. The great hunting hero, who was named Triumphant Air, beat the Great Women and their hunters in turn, and the people became the Kin to Air in recognition of his deeds.
This provides pressure against the Forum our tribe is based around, but it also provides a outlet for people not in that forum after a fashion. It does change the gender of the ancestor, but most of these do.

[ ] A People Gifted A Name To Lead Them On Their Journey - When the ancestors saw the plight of the people, as the unfaithful sisters Valley, Mountain and River had spurned their children, they sought to safeguard their children from further betrayal and entreated with the brothers Air and Wind, who never betrayed and had great brotherly love for everyone, and asked them to mix their blood with them. And the two brothers saw that they were great hunters and clever thinkers, and Air mixed his blood with theirs to become their brother, and they became the Kin to Air, for Wind can never be caught and is flighty and indecisive.
A familial adoption story I think. I'm not really sure what else is going on in this story. A lot of community caring I think.

This is one gets the gender right but doesn't really talk of the reason we leave. None of them do really, except for Gifted A Name. I'm actually not really sure of what this one means either.

What Does The Elder Council Decide?
The effects of this vote are secret.
And this is a test, after a fashion. If we take one, or all, it will become a story of bearing the burden of spirits until some event happens or we travel for so long they aren't a burden any longer.

Taking all of them, we are likely going to fail in some of them by dropping them, which is fine with me because thinking about it I don't really think it'd be a thing of one. It'd be all or none.

The second option is clearly the worst. We don't want martial heroes. The first option could be good - cunning and intelligence are to be encouraged. But I like this one best. It encourages community on the one hand, and lessens the importance of blood ties on the other hand. We create a mythical family of choice. I like that.

So far we have no confirmation one way or the other that spirits don't work, and the people clearly believe they do, sooo....

I actually interpret it as a case of more focus on blood ties, in a different way than family by creating an umbrella Tribe. Which is good and bad, just look at the Qahtan and Kalb. I think.

Plus I will admit to some curiosity over what Manus will write if we plug the blood ties options.

It's definitely enough for me! :V

This is my prliminary vote, until I have slept tomorrow.

Well, in the absence of proof one way or the other - yes it is.
I'm honestly not expecting a whole lot of proof one way or the other. Not because it may or may not exist, but because of limited perspective.

We'll see how it goes. I'm actually kinda curious how far we'll wander, in other topics, with an option to settle at every Feature.

The settle option shows up in next update, when it actually becomes relevant whether the Kin to Air leave or not.
Coolio.

The impression I get from most nomadic civs is that pretty much all of them are going to be asked until they eventually find a place to call home(or evict the locals and call it home)
The question then becomes how easy it is for them to pick up sticks and go somewhere else.

My current thoughts on the matter of us staying is that we probably shouldn't stay here, because the river is still affected and it is described as livable but difficult. I've brought this up before at least a little, I'm pretty sure, I think we are somewhere near the Limit of this Region.
