Eh, that will happen later in debriefing but I think it's not enough to embarrass Mazlo. High command will be more likely to focus on - the intel about the enemy and preparation to mobilize their forces - than petty officer shenanigans.

We're also talking about comm records that are inconvenient/embarrassing to the ship's chief comms officers, so you have to wonder whether those particular ones got properly retained if they actually were something that would be embarrassing to him.

That's really not why I'm voting for this option. It's not about "risk of getting in trouble," or at least that isn't the only thing. If we get caught having covered up Faiza's work, we do get in trouble, and that likely carries very tangible consequences that could be avoided by having Faiza be official. She is also doing what I think is good work and I want her to keep doing it. If she gets caught after doing illegal work, we get in trouble, she gets in trouble, and her fixes have to get removed. I'm afraid that this will happen when I think it could all be avoided.

And as for going around our chain of command, anyone in that chain of command that is willing to turn down capable help should be sacked, especially when people are trying to make that happen within the rules, rather than continuing to operate outside of them. I guess I'm confused as to what your concern is, and I would like some clarification.

I will point out this vote will be basically keeping the status quo, accepting the responsibility (good or bad), while punishing Nowak with paperwork she hasn't been filing and will either make it easier to make the inevitable reversals or to understand why some of the changes work better.

It also keeps Faiza and North separated since they don't get along.

Other than Mazlow no. With the pretend we didn't see her, I am worried about high command giving us stink for it some point down the line. With the write-in, I'm worried about insulting and embarrassing people we care about.

I don't think we actually have any pull to request something of someone attached to Royalty. This works much better.

Thinking it through I think my hot take was too hasty. Overall I underestimated the benefits of having somebody else to assist with changes, and overall i think that my choice is relatively suboptimal. While it is still risky and dependent upon various variables that are at the moment undefinable, I stand by that, this isn't really as much of a detriment as I was claiming it was, I think. Overall what's important is not the fact that there are uncontrollable variables, but whether or not there is anyway to maximize benefit so that going through the risk of dealing with those uncontrolled variables is worth it, and at the end of the day I think it is here; there's a lot of benefit to be found in the more leading choices, and while there is risk, it's risk that is probably worth it, and given that we aren't currently in a battlefield, this is the perfect opportunity to maximize reward for the sake of taking a risk or two, like I was saying earlier.

(I've flip-flopped on my vote a lot this time.)
