A New Colonial Company

Hey had this on my mind for a while basically the premise is it's 1836 and a group of ambitious men come together to form a colonial company for the second rate power of a country that they live in. You the players will act as the ruling body of the company and all its colonies. Without further ado enjoy.

You are the men that run the newest colonial/trade company in existence. It was a hard fought battle to even convince your countries government to approve your charter. Eventually though with some carefully placed bribes you got the government to see things your way.
So if we look at your status you have three Ships and 1 million bank notes in your country's currency.
Speaking of which to what country do you belong to and swear loyalty to..Oh yes its....
[] Belgium- A newly independent country strongly under British influence within the heart of Europe. Having borders with France, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Prussia.

[] Denmark- Denmark is a small but old kingdom in Scandinavia, just north of Prussia and the German Confederation. Geographic location allows Denmark to control trade from the Baltic Sea to the North Sea.
[] Mexico- Mexico is a Latin American nation and the third most powerful nation on the North American continent bordered by Guatemala and The United States.
[] The Netherlands- The Netherlands long a merchant power is in the heart of Europe bordered by Prussia, Belgium and other small German States.
[] Portugal- The historically dominant member of the Great Powers Portugal has declined left with only a modest sized empire.
[] Two Sicilies- A poor Italian nation also the Largest Italian Nation owning all of South Italy.

You're Company needs a base in the local area of you're operations so Africa and Asia. But there is a debate if the company should buy a town from a local nation or colonize the area just to keep the money. But ultimately the Company decided

Best to have a nation that won't experience too much political or economical problems for a good century or two, plus this will give us better trade with France, Prussia, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Prussia via land, while using the sea to trade with England, Denmark-Norway, and etc.

For the longest time, our nation were powers in the big game, first when our ancestors traveled the waves. Than when Sweden ruled the Baltics. It has become clear that we only can stand together to face the future as well, that we need a new angle to become a player again on the international stage. The RCC will help us do just that, with our new colonies in the overseas we will gain prestige for our King and our Nation. It will give our people a goal to work towards.
Let us be the lion again! Let us remember the longships of old!
To new coasts and new treasures!

After the establishment of there Company The Crimson Cog sent messages to different governments from Oman to Vietnam. Most Governments were not interested in selling a Port to the Crimson Cog. But Vietnam was willing to deal at a price for there generosity.
Vietnam wanted to formally be declared under Crimson Cog protection therefore indirectly Belgian protection. They wanted 200,000 for the port and that the Crimson Cog would be allowed to garrison no more than 10,000 soldiers and 50 military ships. But Vietnam gave the Crimson Cog two options for Ports to buy the Vietnamese government has also informed the Crimson Cog they can buy both Ports for 400,000. But the Crimson Cog ultimately chose...

A port town with a long trading history, this town has been shaped by different cultures and influences. We have 1 million dollars and three trade ships buying just one town costs 200,000 buying both costs 400,000 but we will also need to set up an administration and raise some troops with at least Belgian officers.

In my admittedly amateur opinion, these two places do two different things for us: one is good for exporting to Vietnam, and the other is good for exporting goods to the fatherland.
- Hoi An is apparently a large-ish port closer to whatever it is counts as "urban" Vietnam. We'd probably have a better chance of selling manufactured goods from the fatherland here, because farmers don't have much buying power.
- Ben Tre is a good place to get a bunch of foodstuffs and raw materials to sell to Belgium. We're right up against the farmlands et cetera, and can probably buy shit off of them directly, cutting down on costs because we aren't shuffling goods around within the interior of 'nam.
