[X] Clam up, follow Grayson's lead even if the Saturnians don't like it

Seems to me like Grayson probably has the right read of it-if we tell them the bad guys learn exactly where to go to score a propagandic victory, if not something more important by descending upon our weary heads. I don't like making an enemy of what could be an ally, but it only takes one to get us sunk

On top of the risk we put everyone in by potentially giving up OPSEC, talking gives away valuable information for free that could be used as a bribe to help ensure they do their responsibilities to their full ability. There's also the fact that we're a soldier and actively subverting our leader without a truly dire matter on hand is a terrible idea.

Yep. This is not a case where our commanding officer missed an opportunity. They were asked. Thrice, what the damage was about.
Their stance on the information is clear.

yeah... let's not weaken our officers's negotiation position like that. they will probably inform them in a more secure place.

Op Sec has its place, but we're also in a situation where keeping everyone calm is a potential matterbof life and death. If something happens, these guys are likely going to shoot first and ask questions later. Some openness, even if it's not a direct answer, will go a good ways to seeing that we -and everyone else- come out of this alive and intact.

We are in a hallway right now, so even if Grayson's terseness is partially due to the somewhat shady goings-on here, probably not the best place to have such a conversation. Especially since we're headed to a (potentially) more secure location where the subject of what happened would have to come up as part of the negotiations, considering we'd need to bring up what kind of damages we need repaired. Only way I can see keeping quiet for now being a noticeable problem is if something drastic happens before negotiations even start.

Bit too early to be playing that sort of game, as useful as it can be. We should be informing our superiors of the things we've caught so far (like that there's definitely illegal stuff going on here, stuff they didn't want us Imperials to see.) before anything else.

As an aside, if this was an anime you could bet your bottom dollar that North would be my favorite girl. It's plain as the nose on my face...

The situation where we should even consider breaking OpSec here is if we believe we know, IC or OOC, something Grayson doesn't know (or doesn't acknowledge). That doesn't seem to be the case here.

Changing my vote. Started getting a bad feeling about not sticking to the plan. Plus we already halfway-disobeyed orders with cracking that code, probably shouldn't be making a habit of stuff like that.
e: lol somehow I missed that whole page, guess explaining that reasoning was a bit redundant

For operational security, but mostly because I've developed an intense dislike for Lee from just reading the update, which is surprising.

I don't remember names, I remember faces. He's acting like a hardass, so I assumed he's the hardass.
He's a stickler for following the law, but he's not in any way a "hardass" usually. It's even noted in this update that him acting this way is unusual. He's usually the approachable and likable officer, like he was when he first appeared.
Despite his inexperience, he's a sturdy, reliable presence that the crew has responded well to, in addition to being a much more approachable officer than the Captain, for all her other qualities.

I think captain sent us along to play personable Imperial to Grayson's stick up the ass Imperial, since his prejudices against Shadow Ringers prevent him from being his usual personable self.

The fact that we got our ass shot up and we're hauling refugees is something that we can't hide from them, if they're going to be working on our ship, and the captain already called it wartime conditions. We're not revealing some top secret intel, when it's something anyone with firing neurons can put together on their own.

I also feel like getting a friendly rapport here is important. These people aren't committed to either side, so PR work is needed to keep them on ours.

Edit: Minor edits.

On the one hand, our ship being mostly engine means reaching safe harbour faster. On the other I cannot help but feel that were we in the frigate we wouldn't have a hole through the hull.

The joys of IT. Whether it is a desktop, a mobile or a mech the software is never going to work as well as you wish it did.

So how it is we have excess marines but still have civilians getting into sensitive areas?

Lee is clearly a smuggler at best and possibly a pirate. And he has a major chip on his shoulder regarding Imperials. Best not give him anything we don't need to. Shame for the rest of the people on the station but we have limited options.

I'd say it's because those guys haven't been integrated into the chain of command just yet. Those guys survived a pretty harrowing situation. (Also, plot! Plot guides that wee waif's footsteps...)

Hard decisions, I want to play along with the flirt to get more info from that Lee guy but I think he is more of a schemer than his looks.

We don't know what kind of Saturnian in the station, are they smugglers, spies, or just civilians? I think giving them veiled hints to them will not work if they are a shady or clever bunch.

They already have two major hints to make their own conclusions about what will happen:
-Refugees from a destroyed outpost
-A damaged military spacecraft in need of a quick repair
there is no need to give them more hints.
