So wait, Nima dreamt about a critical rumour the Jedi Master directly interested in liberating Ryloth had trouble learning about.

In a dream about a planet she might not have even been born on. About people she never met or has any relation too other than being of the same species.

In an actually clear, usable way. When even Yoda has trouble getting visions that aren't metaphors or vague feelings.

....

Huh.
Best guess is she force bonded to her mom way back when and has been seeing through her eyes in the Nightmares.

Star Wars: Shatterpoint is a standalone Clone Wars novel starring Mace Windu which revolves around him tracking down his former padawan on his homeworld Haruun Kal after she falls to the darkside.

Man, all this talk of Shatterpoints and here I'm just as clueless as poor little Nima.
As said above, Shatterpoint's a Clone Wars-era novel focusing on Mace Windu. In the opinion of many people I've interacted with on this site and elsewhere, it's one of the three best books the Star Wars EU ever produced that are set in the prequels, the others being Yoda: Dark Rendezvous and the ROTS novelization.

[X] This… plan of his. Why is he being so mysterious? Why is Master Windu's departure important. Master Bell, though, sometimes likes to be mysterious. Or at least… careful in one way, but not in others.

"Recently… she was attacked, in a minor way…" but as she spoke, she began to realize, what if it was too unimportant? After all, it was only a single incident, really. But she tried to say it anyways, "It was in Master Jin'sh's class, he was hitting her with his rubber ball. And telling her that she wasn't any good and that she shouldn't be here, that she didn't deserve to be a Jedi. That she wasn't… any good." The words were forced out. "I stopped him and talked to her, but I think he's going to do it again? He confronted Ayguin, you know she works in the Halls of Healing?"

Yoda nodded, his face passive. "Know her, I do. Many healers, this war will need, before it ends."

"That's what she said, and he backed off." Nima frowned. "But it feels like it might just be an excuse. He needed someone who he could feel justified in attacking."

Yoda frowned. "Talk to him, I should."
Oh, just something I noticed but forgot to comment on - Aydan isn't actually mentioned here, just kind of alluded to in the conversation. Yoda being Yoda it wouldn't be odd to think that he'd know who we were talking about there but it's still a bit wonky to read.

[X] Nima's Mother. Master Bell hasn't ever told Nima any more about her, but perhaps now is the time to press a little more. Surely, even if Nima's never going to see her again, he could tell Nima more than that she's 'okay.'

I wasn't too happy philosophy won before but... damn. If Nima continues to own debates like that in the future I will be very happy :D

Nice to know, thanks.

Hmm, this talk of teleportation has me intrigued. Even if we can't spam it, it would sure to be useful to gain the upper hand in a fight, and even more useful in getting into and out of places, which is going to be useful both for the war and what comes after.

Yoda seemed to have gotten to him, at least for the moment.
Yoda: "Bitch, fuck with my shit do not. Murder you in your fucking sleep, I will!"

"Because for each planet sacked and slaughtered by the Separatists, what people learn is not that they are monsters, but that we are failures, that we are too weak to do anything, and that if they wish not to suffer, they should surrender, or stay out of the war. Ryloth has greater importance than you think, and there is a duty to save those who suffer, but even if it was a backwater it wouldn't matter to me. It shouldn't matter to us. That's what it means to be a Republic, that's what it means to try to govern the galaxy. And as Jedi, we are part of it and this war. So you said it, and I'll say it again. Of course I would think that! Anyone who cares to think about it would!" Nima looked around the room. She'd risen out of her seat, and almost strode up towards the middle of the room. "This is only practical, this is only moral. This is the Republic that we're fighting for, and if it's not then we shouldn't be fighting."
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Revan the enigmatic?

Btw TL, just thought of something. You say you've not seen much of TCW?

It's probably worth checking out the Ryloth episodes in the first season (Storm Over Ryloth, Innocents of Ryloth and Liberty on Ryloth), as well as Supply Lines, a prequel to it in season 3.

If you wanna get a sense of Ahsoka and Barriss, then Weapons Factory and Brain Invaders are where to look.

And lastly, though probably most relevant to the quest, make sure to watch The Gathering if you haven't already, which centres round younglings on Ilum retrieving their lightsaber crystals.

[X] Write-in: Master Bell himself. The war is hard on any sapient. How is he holding up? How are his anti-slavery plans proceeding with this all in mind?

That is most excellent

The Masters spend a lot of time making sure the kids don't worry. Who sees to them?

yas. I believe.

Ok, mostly I'm just really hoping he talks a bit more, instead of brushing off her inquiries. Seems like an interesting guy who might die soon-ish, and I wanna see more about him in the meantime.

It admittedly is slightly cheating. I think it kinda combines one and a half options?

Though from what I can tell, the Bariss in the Clone Wars is actually in some ways very different than the Bariss-the-Healer in Legends/EU. Sorta like how in Legends Depa is, you know, Shatterpointed, whereas in the Disney Canon she isn't.

But I probably will check them out today. Though I actually am sorta-kinda doing my own thing with Bariss to a small extent, as you might have noticed. Or might not have? But I will check those episodes out, as soon as I finish watching Coco (bought it last night.)

[X] The war. He retook an entire system. What was it like, what did he do, how did it happen? Who was with him? It's hard, being so far away from it, listening in… so why not an up-close story.

A surprise challenger! And the vote count is a bit lower than last time, so some people haven't chosen yet, I think?

I mean, Bell is nice, interesting person and something of a father figure to Nima.
Talking to him about how is he doing and how his usual inclinations - the anti-slavery activities and so on - are affected by the galaxy-wide war is quite reasonable in my eyes. It is interesting to know how he deals with the whole business of war weariness, given that he is...probably a bit of a role model for Nima? Given that he saved her and her mother from slavery, he is at least to some degree.

edit: and yes, not only I feel caring about him as a father-figure and as a mentor-esque figure would be a nice touch on Nima's character, I also think he kinda...needs someone to care about him in this way? Well, not needs exactly, he is an old Master, he knows how to take care of himself, but it'd certainly help him.
