Star Wars: The Chosen One (An Anakin Skywalker Quest)

Keeping the ambition should we manage to leave would be ridiculous to the extreme since I thought we're supposed to pass the Knighthood trials to consider the ambition complete and the likelihood of that happening with Dooku are slim to none, since there are other ambitions we might like completed.
As has been discussed before, you don't need to be a member of the Jedi Order to be a Jedi. It helps, but it isn't required. Kanan Jarrus became a Jedi Knight after the Order was destroyed. If Anakin lives up to the tenets of the Jedi, and passes all five of the Trials, then he'll be a Jedi Knight. The Trial of Spirit is likely to be the most difficult one given the situation he'd be in outside the Order, but it's still doable.

The entire quest so far is us just jumping from path to path without a plan or any commitment.

From what I gather, going with Dooku would be like taking a master in the Jedi and thus, unless something really shakes us on his teachings (which would probably take a lot), much more likely to be stable for a while if it is taken and passes.

It'd basically be like committing ourselves to going on the path of Jedi Knight (or the equivalent whatever) under the count.

So, ironically going off now would probably help tone down the sorta scattershot a bunch of the voters seem to want towards their goals by narrowing the actual possibilities.

Kanan Jarrus would have stayed with the order, but the Order got destroyed so he didn't have much of a chance. Anakin is choosing to leave, spur of the moment or not. There's a difference.

edit: At least to me, there is.

Kanan Jarrus also spent the better part of two decades on the run doing his best not to be a Jedi. He was a scoundrel, a smuggler, and a tramp freighter pilot, not a Jedi. It is explicitly mentioned in his story that he could have tried to live as a Jedi if he'd chosen to, it just would have been difficult and possibly fatal. It was a conscious choice on his part to bury that part of him and turn from the path of the Jedi.

Now, Anakin's situation isn't the same obviously, but he's also not forsaking the way of the Jedi as he sees it, I don't think. So, it is up to GM Discretion, and he has said multiple times that we can still fulfill the ambition outside of the Coruscanti Jedi Order.

[X] [Reward] To Do all he can to free the slaves in the Outer Rim?
[X] [meetings] Accepted. This would be a great opportunity to hangout with someone who wasn't a Jedi and expand your horizons. The fact that Bail was the CHancellor just made it better!
[X] [Dooku] Please stay with the Order?
[X] [Sith] Suspicious: The woman appeared harmless. Perhaps that was the danger?
[X] [Failure] Seriously: Yoda was the teacher, and apparently you'd been doing it the wrong way. You needed to figure out the right way
[X] [Dreams] Frowned in worry and left. You would meditate to determine if this is a message from the Force or merely a bad dream.

Your chance of actually leaving is slim
Even if it is slim, this really is not only a character vote as much as it is one that could decide the direction of the quest. There IS a real chance that we leave if the leave vote wins, and I thought that chance was about 20%? DC 34, with a bonus of 18, so a 16 is required.

Also, even framing it as a character reaction vote, I do not want Anakin's character to be one where he turns his back on the Jedi as soon as he realises they are not the perfect paragons he expected. We just made friends, I do not want to abandon them.

I am also surprised that there hasn't been any discussion about the fact that leaving the Jedi will leave us stuck with an ambition to make friends that is now impossible to complete. It will propably also postpone the "Become a Jedi"-ambition massively, since we will have to find another Jedi sect to complete it. Unless Dooku training us in the ways of the force counts?

In character Anakin doesn't know about the other sects, we do because of meta-knowledge but he doesn't and while he might discover them later on, by then we could have chosen to discard the Jedi ambition for something else if we do manage to leave. It's not that we don't want to complete his ambition if this happens, as what exactly this means to the character and how our voting shapes him. Dooku could still teach us Force abilities and lightsaber combat, but it won't necessarily mean that would go towards fulfilling the ambition of becoming a Jedi.

Aren't those two options totally contradictory?

1. Agree to report to the CHANCELLOR about the order
2. Leave order
3.?
4. Profit

[X] [Dooku] Please stay with the Order?

Urgh.

[X] [Sith] Curious: The Sith Code was different than that of the Jedi. Did not make either code right, but you wanted to learn more.

1. To become a Jedi Knight: You've heard stories of the powerful Jedi. It would be so cool to become a Jedi Knight (30,000 Experience Points. 10 Chosen Points)
2. To Master Teras Kasi: Your training has opened your eyes to your physical capabilities and potential. (25,000 XP, +5 Chosen Points)
3. To Make Friends in your new Jedi Clan! (500 XP)
4. To Complete the Initiate Trials! (+3,000XP, +3 CP)
5.To Avenge Qui-Gon and Obi-wan. (+30,000XP, +5 CP.)

Going with Dooku helps only number 5 and hurts every other ambition. IC speaking that means that Anakin is so overfilled with hate that he doesn't really care about anything else. It is definitely not the road I want to take even if we fail the charisma check.

I get the feeling that we'll join the Sith next because diplomacy is boring or something.
I would think that people would sooner join it to gain insight into the plans of Sith lords so they can bring the voters' enemies into an Ackbar Trap™. Because Sith killed Bro-biwan.

Non-fighting stuff is great! It builds anticipation. Good whether it is, or isn't a sideline to actual combat.

Maneuver yourself into the moral high ground (don't overestimate your power and lose your legs) Trash opponents in politics! Destroy them legitimately, and through underhanded means. Enemies of CIS aren't going away just because Dooku and Ani get there. There are political rivals like Hutts from the bordering territories, Nute Gunray, General Jar Jar, the Jedi Anakin may have left behind at the temple, Genosians Zerg...Lots of variety.

Diplomacy is outwardly smiles and sunshine. Kiss a baby on the cheek in front of galactic holonet and hope it's not poisoned, see if the force can vanquish paperwork, open a hunting preserve so you can go on a hunt with Mandalore...

Backroom deals, intrigue, training, and Sith hunting will keep Anakin busy. I see this as comparatively more freedom compared to the Jedi Temple, even if Anakin is forced to present a public face more rigorously. Corelians were great at beating back the Sith until the Clone Wars. They were much more diverse too. But, diversity isn't always good. The Green Jedi had silly dresses. Did someone give them dress-dongs on purpose? Hope nobility isn't much worse.

I've held off on voting because I really wasn't sure what I wanted. Pity that the write-in didn't get more votes -- that'd be the best choice in-character and fit perfectly with our new dark-side ambition. 'Take me with you' has a ton of story potential, but a) now is definitely not the right time and b) I really don't think it's a good reaction for Anakin's own moral development/characterization. 'Stay with the Order' is lesser of two evils, but it keeps us in the Jedi Order -- really, now that we're in, we shouldn't leave until we become a Knight, not just for the Ambition's sake, but so we have an excuse to freely travel the galaxy like Fay or some of the pre-Ruusan Jedi. More significantly, asking Dooku to 'stay with the Order' has an honest-to-goodness chance of working (!) which could be fascinating, especially since Dooku could provide an impetus for reforming the Jedi Order from within.

Also, for our reaction to the Sith holocron, I'm all for curiosity as a general matter, but this isn't some generic dark-side holocron, it's a Sith holocron, and caution is absolutely the called-for reaction.

This is part of the reason I don't want to leave with Dooku. The entire quest so far is us just jumping from path to path without a plan or any commitment. We trained with Arden Lyn but didn't continue to train with her because everyone wanted to be Jedi. Then we go to the Jedi and everyone wants to leave with Dooku because the Jedi suck. I get the feeling that we'll join the Sith next because diplomacy is boring or something.

I would just like to settle down and actually let the story continue without us constantly switching focus. We barely let anything get started before abandoning it.
Considering some voters are already planning on leaving Dooku to join the Corellian Jedi or some other Order.... Man, it's almost like Anakin has a fear of commitment or something. :p

Which, ironically, wouldn't be a bad thing for a Jedi since he wouldn't get too attached to any love interest. People complain that the Jedi don't allow marriage, but Annie will never get a waifu if he acts like this towards every girl that's interested in him. :V

Was catching up and just lost stamina at all the pages from the update but something.

Our patience rolls suck. Dammit Ani he literally told you what those rocks are when he came in.

Also to continue. Ploo Koon literally told us an answer.

Use your agression, bleed the hate off in the force, and then move it. The force moves and then doesn't fry your brain with bad juju.

Can we write in Remember Plo Koon.

And on the holocron. We've had balance dreams were good thing and bad things all went busted can we write in maybe we zhould find middle ground between them.

Guys, really don't leave the Jedi order to much opportunity would be lost if we do.

I will consider leaving the order after we have attained knighthood, not before. Going with Dooku (if it even happens) suggests an emotional, impulsive Anakin, one who does not consider the consequences of his actions. Moreover we will be closing off many altenate paths and two of our current ambitions.

Hmm... I hesitate to switch my vote for "[] [Dooku] Ask Dooku to keep in contact. Tell him that your dream is to be a Jedi Knight, but as soon as you are, you want to come help him hunt down the Sith"

But I think it's to late now. Alea Jacta Est
