You're in luck, I just posted the first part of a three-part update.
Out of curiosity, why do you prefer using d8's in your RPGs?

It's not for all of them. Hardboiled uses d10s and most of my small games use d6s. The fact is that larger ranges allow a better gradient when assigning floating targets, but you rarely need more than 10. Six-sided dice only allow for two degrees of shifted target, which isn't always enough. d8s and d10s are a nice happy medium.

I started using d8s specifically in 5 Across the Heart for symbolism reasons; started to become a recurring number in the rules, so I turned it into the "Magic Number" in-verse. By contrast, Steel Titans uses d8s simply because I wanted to contract my ranges from Hardboiled slightly and make crits a bit more likely.
    Who?

    Thanks for answering.
Just heard your name mentioned on the Video Game Awards held in Vegas. Congratulations!

(Unless that wasn't you. Then I'll just say I really liked Cherno Quest.)
I just want to say that 5 Across the Heart looks totally awesome. Both the game itself and the universe you created for it.
Admit it already, Sketch. You're a weak meatbag that needs eight hours of downtime every 24-hour cycle, unlike all of the post-bots on this forum.
