  • Hey! Question for you, who might know medical stuff. If a hospital receives a delirious or unconscious person who soon wakes up with dissociative localised amnesia (memory loss of a recent, specific time period associated with a fugue state). How would the hospital discover that the character is missing memories, and how would they respond?
Hi @Nuts! I am making a story so could I ask you about some technical things related to medical issues for the story?

Okay. In my story spaceships will have hospitals treating soldiers for their trauma and also diseases.

So how big of a hospital in terms of staff would be needed to roughly treat a spaceship with a crew of 6000 in all sorts of ways like tumour treatments, gunshot wounds, infections, etc...?

    Is 400 enough?

    Ummm...???
Where do you ask to contest mod decisions? Because I wasn't aware it was heated. No swears on my side yet and we had actually cooled down at the final page where you posted.
I was trying to reply before it closed.

I had misread it as people not reviewing or looking just because they did not like a particular work or part of this forum. Which i why I was asking. I did not understand the post in the first place, and the thread is cl

that is what I was trying to post.

and did I accidentally double post or something after it was closed and got an infraction?
If there is one thing that really gets on my nerves, it's super disruptive behaviour that ruins the fun for everyone in the thread.
is there a thread to disagee with the suspention of a fic thtead?
    N
    Nuts!
SOP for raising a disagreement would be:

    1. Asking the staff about the issue via PM or the Questions&Review subforum.
    2. Starting a new thread in the News&Management subforum about the issue.
    N
    Nuts!
In the case I assume you're talking about, for instance, the thread is due to be reopened later today once the staff has finished discussing the issue. You're free to make a thread in the News subforum if you want to have a broader discussion about the topic, though.
In regards to the link to rules you posted here "If you're going to post a news article on a potentially-inflammatory topic, please provide more context and description to it than "everyone go read this article and comment." (per the 'No Two Minutes Hate' rule detailed here)"

Shouldn't that be merged with the community compact?
Thanks for the help there. I'm probably going to stock up on some Epipen when I get the chance to.
What do you call the care someone receives in the hospital when they're recovering from a disease or a surgery or while they're being ravaged but not killed by a condition? There's a word for it right? Amel-something?

One of the things I read about Ebola underlined the lack of this kind of care as one of the reasons why it was proving so fatal in West Africa.
How many opressowatts does the SV modship produce on an average day? And how might we harness it?
Have you considered making a thread about the things you encounter in your line of work? Your posts in the Unfortunate Work Stories thread have been hilarious.
Would "I would advocate the use of military force against them" or somesuch be acceptable language?

I would like that to be acceptable.
