The Terran Empire rules most of known space, with the indomitable Royal Navy standing as a bulwark against foreign powers and perfidious pirates that lurk in the many asteroid islands of the Etherium. Legends are whispered of a ship - the Black Star - that sails through space with sails that reflect no photon and blow on invisible breeze. Crewed by the damned and captained by a man so evil hell itself spat him out...
These are, of course, just legends.

If there was a constant in the story of mankind, was that wherever there was sea trade, there was piracy. Thousands of years have passed. Humanity now crosses the void propelled by fission and plasma instead of the ocean with sail and oar. It shares, reluctantly, the galaxy with other species, when before she was alone.
