Winds of Change
An African Decolonization Adventure

The year is 1960, and the African colonies of European empires clamor for independence. Take the helm of one of these prospective nations and guide their fates to independence or doom. Players will have the freedom to determine the actions of their nations within reason, from having a local warlord rise to power, installing a presidential dictatorship, declaring an empire, or staying loyal to the European patriarchy like a spineless coward. All players will have opportunities to interact with NPC foreign powers to cater to their geopolitical interests in exchange for concessions, and important individuals may interact with the independence movements across Africa to their benefit or to their dismay.

Players may only be allowed to participate as African nations, and may only select from the list below. All players will only have one general order per turn, and one war plan. Players will be encouraged to be creative with their national development and order submissions. Generally, players will have a lot of leeway and freedom with the development of their nations, so as always with me, the sky's the limit, just keep things sensible.

The game begins on January 1, 1960, at the beginning of the year when the most nations in the history of the world would be born, such as Mali Senegal, Benin, Niger, Burkina Faso, and Ivory Coast from the colony of French West Africa, Chad, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, and Gabon from French Equatorial Africa, Madagascar, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Somalia, and Nigeria. Players may choose to avert, subvert, or divert these developments at will.

This thread is for OOC posting by players and moderation. For a more informal discussion, go to the GSRP Discord.

Many thanks to @Kerensky for developing the concept with me and creating the map. @etranger01 will be assisting me in the editing process.

Sudan or Tunisia. Eritrea which is currently federated to Ethiopia would work too.
