Huh, interesting random thing I was thinking about. nWoD (or CoD if you really want to call it that) doesn't do anything with reincarnation/past-lives, does it?
Banishers get it.

You said mixed-groupness could be a problem, right? That still implies that there is something more wrong when the events of a campaign involve players of Sex B instead of Sex A; the interpretation of 'adding males to a group creates problems' seemed less likely, but it still seems discriminatory.Let me clarify to bit less Victorian.
Never said women being the problem.
Ashwood Abby, as written, can descend into sexual harassment really fast.
You mean in the book I haven't read that everybody says is hilariously unbalanced?
Only the character generation, the rest should be fine if I remember correctly.
Yyyeah, but my point was that Changelings don't have nearly as many passive protections as other supernaturals. If I shoot a Vampire, they can just soak the bullet with their dead flesh. If I threaten to shoot a Werewolf, they can flip out into Crinos, fast-heal the damage and rend me limb from limb. If I threaten to shoot a Mage, well, either they can rapidly raise their mystic armour or, if they're played like MJ12 Commando, they've already got a slew of probability alterations and other protection. No, because it first demands that you identify them as a Changeling, which is presented as essentially impossible for any non-Changeling. Assuming you can identify them as a Changeling, you are very unlikely to be able to threaten them, because they have superpowers, a free place to dump your body where it will never be found, and probably a small community of protective and somewhat crazy superpowered friends.
Why not? It seems all of a piece to me. Changeling's aren't fairies, so for this story to work, it almost has to downplay the fairy elements and play up the more general "look at this twisted freak!" aspect, which an iron weakness doesn't really help with.I don't think you get to say "this story isn't very fairy" mere moments after dismissing another story by pointing out that Changelings aren't fairies.
Well, some of the rotes also have problems. In that they read like they were written by someone who only knew the oMage magic system.
In fact, as I recall, basically every rote written for the Translators group was trash, and had things like "Use Spirit 3 to teleport someone into space" and "Some kind of Mind rote that locked someone in their own mind and asked for rolls that didn't make sense in the nWoD system".
I also recall being disgruntled with it for having a "detect Banisher" spell in Prime which can only be used by Banishers (which is stupid for so many reasons), and a merit that gave bonuses to improvised casting equal to the number of dots you had in it (because balance is for suckers).Well, some of the rotes also have problems. *coughs*
Uh, *points above to my post that suggested just that.*
Summoning Data Beasts as minion is just "being a Virtual Adept of any sort who picked up Spirit, then cutting a deal with the program-spirit". Or being a Dreamspeaker or Hermetic spirit-binder or something who really likes the Digital Web. Or picking up Familiar and saying they're a Data Beast. Basically, it's trivially easy to decide "I'm going to play a Digimon Adventure character" and then just do that. So, I've finally managed to trudge my way through M20 to p315,(I'm deeply regretting buying it, Idunno if it get's better later on but right now it's just plain boring) which mostly concerns itself with the Familiar background.
And I've learned that Data-Beasts are a thing.
How viable would it be for a Paradigm based around summoning Mons?
>hasn't gotten to the sphere's bit yet.

Wouldn't it also be a very good focus for Mind? Tell people that there is a rare pokemon nearby and watch as a mob spontaneously stampede in.Just remember, Pokemon Go is now a super good focus/disguise for Spirit 1 as a Technomage.
"Yes. I am holding up my phone to see if there are any spi... Pokemon nearby. There's one. Hold still. I just need to capture it."

The only difference is that Adventure is mostly in the Digital Web.
Yes, but then you get the troll-casting Technocrats who go "you do know that people playing Pokemon Go tend to get run over by cars right" and use that as a focus for a direct Forces attack on you involving a car screaming down the road and running you over.
I've proposed this idea many times before but never got around to doing it. I figured I'd ask the WoD fans here as well as the people in Grand Strategy Roleplaying.
Would any of you guys like the idea of a Vampire: The Masquerade Grand Strategy RP where players play as vampire princes and elders, and try to expand their realms of influence. I can do Medieval settings (like in Dark Ages: Vampire), as well as Renaissance (right after the Camarilla and Sabbat have just formed), Victorian, or even Modern settings as well.
The NWO publicizing their "hit people with cars" rote led to 1.25 million deaths yearly! Bring the Technocracy to justice!Damn cheating NWO, allowing their rotes to be used by the Masses like that.

Personally, I'd be all over that one. Hell, I've made characters for similar games about three times now, just off the top of my head, but none of the games ever actually went anywhere because the GM up and vanished.
But yeah, if you were looking for someone to play in a proper political maneuvering game, I'd be more than happy to take a shot at it. If it's Masquerade, probably as a Malkavian, because I rather enjoy them as a character archetype. It's quite fun working out how to balance someone who has different priorities and perspectives to most people without veering straight off into 'lol random'.
(One of my previous characters was called Jonathan Graves, and the description another PC gave when we were planning things was 'he has about fifty different split personalities, and every last one of them is a new and interesting flavour of bastard.)
One book is absolutely essential for a proper Elders vampire game.I've proposed this idea many times before but never got around to doing it. I figured I'd ask the WoD fans here as well as the people in Grand Strategy Roleplaying.

Elysium: The Elder Wars (1995)
I must be only person on internet owning a copy.
Outside retailers I can't seem to find any information.
Fluff about having global influence dots perfectly captures feeling of being a one-man-conspiracy.
Better still detailing how ancient beings of incredible power might possibly get along with each other!
