We dont pay rent!(Haunting Riot Quest)

Question, for the teenagers in the intro, is the Sage their deceased grandmother? Also, is the family living there or are they just renting it out?

Horror Movie Trailer

I felt inspired, so I decided to write a script for a horror movie trailer based on this quest. This is my first time writing something like this, so I hope you all like it!

THIS HALLOWEEN SEASON...BROUGHT TO YOU BY GHOST IN THE SUN PRODUCTIONS

"Welcome to our new home, kids!"

"It looks terrible."

"Now, now, don't be like that. Look, the lights are so welcoming."

"...What does that even mean?"

A FAMILY INHERITS A NEW HOME...

Ominous music begins playing

"...Where is that music coming from?"

"...That's weird...it just started playing from my phone..."

Girl pulls out a letter from her pocket and screams as the letter suddenly turns to glass. The letter falls onto the ground and shatters.

BUT THEY'RE ABOUT TO REALIZE THEY'RE FAR FROM ALONE...

Scene of the mother wearing a Victorian dress as she faces away from the camera.

"Mom...are you alright?"

The mother turns around, her eyes clearly mesmerized, and smiles. "Oh, I feel just wonderful, dear. It's so nice to have company again...

Scene changes to teenager wandering around in the dark basement.

"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty. Where are you?"

Basement Bob emerges from the shadows, looming threateningly behind them.

Scene changes to a 12 year old boy at the end of a dark hallway who seems to patting the air. As the lights flicker, a large black dog appears for just a second before vanishing.

"Would you like to play with us, miss?"

AND FAR FROM SAFE

Ominous music becomes even more louder and frightening as it reaches a crescendo. A rapid montage of scenes appears onscreen.

Scene of a teenager with a knife slowly approaching Apartment 4. The door slowly moves open on its own as a faint red light appears from within...

Scene of the Lord of the Basement screaming as it lashes out at its magical constraints.

Scene of a poker game, but all of the players are obscured in shadow. Their hands are visible though and it's very clear that they're not human...

Scene of Soldier Ghost aggressively dancing the Carlton as rock music plays.

Scene of the basement in flames as someone offscreen screams in agony.

Scene of someone with blood dripping from their hands as they hold an ancient pot in their hands while chanting in a strange language.

Music stops abruptly.

Scene plays of a person trapped in a closet as they furiously struggle with the doorknob.

"Somebody, let me out!"

The light flickers out. Person begins whimpering in panic as multiple glowing eyes emerge from the darkness. A loud scream is heard.

WELCOME TO THE APARTMENT

Final scene is that of the poker players, still obscured in shadow.

"Well, then..."

Camera pans up to reveal the person talking, a red devil grinning as he stares into the camera.

"Let's make this game a little more interesting, shall we?"

I feel like we need to build this apartment in some way, maybe Sims or Minecraft games could help...

I was thinking about giving the apartment some image or model to work with. It sounded like a cool idea in my head.

Maybe I will write faster If I use a notebook to write then pass it on the computer...

One a different thing. I am surprised that one asked what country this story is set on. No that I would have answered.
Edit: On a second thought I can see why date might matter more than location.

I was assuming it was a made-up nation instead of a RL one.

Either way with the ghosts lacking context for the modern world it checks out that we don't really know the where or when.

Well, we know for sure there was some war, revolution and probably other things. We would be fine, craft something as things go on. it is not like we need some very detailed and elaborative world for this quest. Just basic framework should be enough.

Edit: Let's go with something familiar from my place history...

There was the Great War at some point. And this weakened the already lagging behind and dilapidated system of the country in which the quest is taking place. The tension between the nobility, the royal family and rich families of industry was already huge. The war brought the conflicts into a hot phase. However, in the end, an unexpected dictatorship seized power, then there was a short civil war and almost three decades of totalitarianism.

Does it sound like a good sketch?

Maybe after the Great War there were even more reasons for magic to go into hiding. Something like combination of necromancy arts and chemical weapons sounds like a nightmare. Poisonous gas possessed by evil spirits of every person it killed, which only seeks to find new victims, murder them and use thier organic vessels as material to propagate, create more gas and use harvested spitrits to better manipulate such a massive abomination.

Edit: They thought, they had a key to diactivate it after its job done. However, they didn't think about it would propagate using chemicals taken from corpses and this cloud became so dirty with other stuff, that thier destructive counter-spell couldn't work anymore. Even now, sealed cavities are occasionally found containing a dormant cloud of these cursed gases. Therefore, some cities and lands were never rebuilt and repopulated, because it is too dangerous to stumble upon this gas. And it is too expensive to conduct complex operations to explore and clean up the area. Parts of this monstrous agglomeration can survive in an inactive state for decades, maintaining their chemical integrity through the consumption of spiritual energy and very slow starvation.

Would this be considered a valid vote if it gathered enough votes? I wanted to add some cosmic horror into this setting.

[] Create a black pool deep under the apartment that can not be destroyed by conventional means. Occasionally, it will send people visions of the future if they unknowingly drink from it.

Long ago, before Basement Bob, before the Closet God, before the Red Room, before the Igari and before even the Spirit of the Unknown, there was a day when God looked upon the Earth and marveled upon its beauty. The forests, the mountains, the seas, they were all amazing to behold. Yet, as he took a closer look, he saw something that displeased him. A strange black pool of ooze sat in the middle of a field of wildflowers. The area around the pool was completely barren and littered with the corpses of dead animals. Displeased with this blight upon his creation, God willed the black pool to disappear. Yet, to his astonishment, nothing happened. He tried again with greater concentration, but again, nothing happened. Confusion turned to unease. This should not be possible. Everything in the cosmos should be his to control. So, God sent down a great pillar of fire to remove the pool from existence. When the smoke cleared, everything within ten thousand feet had been utterly burnt to a crisp. Everything except for the pool, which had not been disturbed in the least.

Furious, God finally descended from the heavens to deal with the problem himself. He reached out to the pool to destroy it once and for all. The second he made contact with the black pool though, a burning sensation erupted throughout every drop of his essence. God screamed as he recoiled in shock. Never in his existence had he felt such agony. Terror stirred within him as an unthinkable thought occurred to him. If this thing could hurt him, God, master of all, could it kill him?

"What are you?" God whispered. Upon hearing this, the black pool rippled as an eldritch voice answered back. What did the pool say? Only God knows and he fled back to the heavens, never to step foot near the black pool again. Centuries passed and eventually the black pool was buried deep underground. After a long period of time, an apartment came to be built on the land on top of it. Yet, the pool is still active. It leaks into the building's water supply and those that drink from it occasionally have strange visions of the future. But, the pool is clever. It only shows visions that it wants to share, so that it might bring about the future it desires...
