Valkyrie Quest (Honkai Impact 3rd)

The Oath of Judas is its own justification for that, lets be honest.
And it seems like apple (Melee giant laser cannon) didn't fell too far from tree (Giant cross). At least it's easy to see where MC get her inspiration.
I would also note that it's quit possible that MC decided to go to Otto because of Theresa's good influence, because she feels undeserving of kindness or something. So she want to become strong faster so she could defend Humanity as a sort of gratitude for her own survival. Motivation like that wouldn't be out of place in Honkai Impact.
She is also 12-year old teenager at a moment, so yeah. Stupid things are expected.
I think Theresa would understand even if she didn't approve.

I assumed it was just what it said on the tin rather than any fancy melee technology: It's just a big heavy laser cannon that we beat Honkai beasts with, occasionally weaving a shot into our combos at ranges varying between "medium-close" and "jam the muzzle into them and pull the trigger." Especially since we don't have to maintain a beam to deal useful laser damage and the need to moderate our fire rate.

It isn't fancy melee tech or anything, it's just designed to survive being used as a club / tank incoming blows if it has to. It's a laser cannon that has been very structurally reinforced, to the point it can also go bonk.

Except with the moderated fire rate being slow and Valks often having to kill fast, in practise it winds up going bonk a lot of the time.

So...does that mean that it's just like Black Rock Shooters energy gun, except that instead of transforming into a sword we just adjust the grip and use it like a maul whenever we get stuck into cqc but otherwise we prefer shooting our enemy from mid to long range?

Yeah, pretty much. It's the BRS cannon. Though in my mind it was always on a shoulder strap and fired from the hip.

I'm assuming that we often to the whole "jab the barrel into the target then pull the trigger" move, bonus points if we shoot through the enemy to blast the enemies behind it.

[X][FOUNDING] Theresa founds St. Freya in 2009, as a bribe to rejoin Schicksal after covering Seigfried's escape
[X][AGE] You were ~8 at the time of the Eruption and was in Theresa's care for four years before becoming a Valkyrie in 2004.

I just imagine our chibi saw how Theresa swings around her own weapon, and then decided to mimic her with all the childlike wonder and sincerity of someone with Zero social skill but tons of heart.

if we can choose gender I want the MC to be male, just so I can use Albedo pic for the MC if we're allowed that.

... If you mean romantically "shipping", I doubt that will happen. She's almost 20+ years older than us.
...And yet she's going to look at least 8-10 years younger than us.

The way I see it, she's legal and once our PC hits 18, all bets are off. We just need to spend however many years till then (how old is the PC anyway?) building up our social link with Theresa so that we can initiate the Romance route once we get past any hangups she (and the thread/forum) might have over the age difference.

Plus it's sorta canon that the age difference isn't insurmountable due to Mei and the MC/Adam going on that date in APHO.

No age hang ups on my end but fixating on wooing a single Canon major character this early and building our approach around that sounds limiting. Rather focus on building a reputation as a badass despite our melee cannon handicap and let the RO's try to woo us.

You're right. I one hundred percent agree. It's just...since our PC's backstory has us already interacting with Theresa (and canon has her having zero luck in the romance department due to her...appearance which makes me want to rectify that since she's an amazing character) I want us to use that as a springboard to ship her with our PC.

Thats cool. No RO preferences to be honest. As long as we focus on our career first and RO second initially I'm game.

Oh my god no. Bad. Theresa is twelve.

I don't mean "She's technically legal, she just looks twelve, nudge nudge". I mean she is, mentally, actually twelve. She's just really good at covering it up.

Theresa's brand of immortality didn't just arrest her aging. It also arrested her ability to grow up, and left her brain development halted at the age she appears to be. She is, mentally speaking, a twelve-year-old with thirty years of experience at being twelve. Twenty years, when we first see her. She really does have the mental faculties of an, admittedly genius, child.

Discussing this at all squicks me out, but with Theresa in particular? No.

Oh god! I didn't know that!

Oh damn I did not realize it got this bad.
Same. This changes everything. Dropping it now.

This is still more or less the design of the two games we posted rather than BRS. Rock's cannon is the term "Hand Cannon" taken as close to literally as feasible. Trying to hold something like that in an outstretched arm and fire it?

Five pound weights are tiring to hold out like that never mind what that thing weighs.

Chung and his cannon.

Yes, his. I know.

For reference, this is what the cannon from the other game looks like in it's official character design.

I left this thread for one day

Anyway, I'm in support of Chung and BRS. This way we'll also never be unable to open a door. Why fret about missing keys when you can just BASH or SMASH?
