If Reed and co. are all we get [we've already won] we have plenty of opportunities for Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four to cross paths, from the Venom arc to Spider-Man and his Amazing friends, or even potential employment opportunities in the Baxter Building. In addition, since their powers correlate to the elements [Fire- Johnny, one could say they utilize abnormal Conduit
If Dr. Doom is all we can get our hands on, his story meshes
really well with Ghost Rider's [Mephisto taking his mother's soul]
and Iron Fist's [mystical monk training], not to mention Silver Sable's revolution [
he's the dictator she must face].
Galactus is pretty much an End Boss...pretty good way to end a franchise if there's nowhere else to go.
The Beyonder nets us Secret Wars, which pretty much gives us the canonical route for acquiring Venom.
X-Men First Class (Classic): Plenty of stories here to mine about being other, especially their early stories. Scott provides us with storylines of adapting to familial trauma and the journey to overcome them, Jean comes with storylines of overcoming personal trauma and how to survive with an abuser (if you wanted to take it that route), Bobby's come out of the closet in recent years, giving us the chance to explore the first openly gay superhero on the big screen [not to mention Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, one of Peter's roommates and best friends?], Beast with storylines of struggling with one's identity and coming to terms with oneself, and Angel about rising above his position, his family legacy to grow into his own.
Wolverine: While the first super soldier in 616 was John Steele, Ultimates and Wolverine Origins (at least, the opening) establishes him firmly in that category instead, so there's potential there to have him be the
source of the genetic arms race towards a viable super soldier, connecting him to the wider Spider-Man mythos through that alone.[..could tie it into Adriana Soria, her being the first female super soldier and the Spider-Queen besides.] Doesn't hurt that, due to his age, he's been everywhere and done everything, not to mention the fact he was friends with Peter's parents in 616, and the first to congratulate them on Peter, is one of Peter's good friends and stays civil in Aunt May's presence.
Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver: The iconic twin duo, they've faced and seen a lot of shit, and way too may impressive deeds to list out, they're a potential goldmine in regards to Wanda's abilities alone, anywhere from her being an impressive ally for Silver Sable to having our own version of M-Day [soft-reboot potential] that (could) connect us to the rest of Marvel; if we manage Dr. Doom as well, there's narrative potential having Wanda take Valeria's place as his first friend and first love, where she stays by his side as he suffers after the loss of his mother to Mephisto, learning the same arcane arts as he.
Mr. Sinister: A master of genetic manipulation, there's a lot of potential here come Clone Saga, such as Miles Warren being an alias he goes under during this time period. However, and I need to reiterate this because even the writers have forgotten/overlooked/tried to retcon this key detail, the man
joined the Nazis and was fundamentally
in charge of Auschwitz...among other things, this means his story and Swarm's are connected.
Madelyne Pryor: The Goblin Queen was
never been connected to the Osbournes and their own Goblinhood despite all the storylines lining up near perfect to allow it to happen: pact with a demon, Goblin identity, clone, I could go on. Not to mention, there's a lot of narrative potential here for her to be our Mary Jane.
Magik: Mephisto's Realm becomes Limbo, with Magik becoming our version of Dr. Strange, the key to defeating Mephisto in her palm. Could tie her into Mephisto's canonical fear of Spidey, playing with the idea that it matters not if Peter or his descendants defeat the demon, but rather the life of somebody they've saved.
Shadowcat: What started off as the X-Men's little sister has grown into an impressive character in their own right, from computer genius and guerrilla warfare expert to an intergalactic bounty hunter [stint as Star Lord] and Red Queen during her time at the Hellfire Club; while pairing her with Peter (ala Ultimates) is unlikely in this scenario, there's always the chance Ben or Jessica (she's canonically bi) joins up with her. And I don't know about you, but I kinda want to see Space-Pirate Queen Pryde at the helm of her own ship, a spidey-clone as her lieutenant, sallying ho and to space away we go! [Think of the
Space Shanties space-Spidey will belt out.]
Rogue: There's a great many number of storylines, from her southern charm (
inFamous Season 2: New Orleans?] to struggling with embracing an unexpected identity, not to mention her Survivor's Guilt over what's essentially either Aggravated Assault (unintentional) or Manslaughter.
Deadpool: Spidey's number one fan, the merc with a mouth is honestly the action/horror-comedy we've all been waiting for.
ForgetMeNot: A horror movie from his perspective, where nothing he does will ever matter because nobody will ever remember his deeds...and yet, throughout the movie, the man grows into one of the most optimistic people in the setting, his very deeds becoming every Deus Ex Machina that our franchise has ever had.
