You are Chapter Master Hiawatha Ghostbear, chosen leader of the Storm Crows Astartes Chapter , the assigned protectors of Subsector Thaumiel. However, you are not exactly having the best of days. The death of the previous Chapter Master, and your good friend, Dasan Trivius, and your subsequent promotion from captain of the 1st Company to the leader of the Chapter has left you with big shoes to fill, though thankfully it seems that the rest of your chapter is largely supportive of your leadership, even if there appear to be some murmurings as to whether or not the new Primaris recruits qualify as "real" members of the chapter, as most of them have not been tested in battle yet and even fewer have undergone most of the trials and rituels expected of your chapter.
However, there are still a number of issues facing the subsector as a whole. In addition to being one of It was recently ravaged by a savage WAAAGH of Orks, and although thankfully it's leadership is currently splintering after Chapter Master Dasan gave his life slaying the warboss leading it, the greenskins are still a force that could pose a threat, especially if a new warboss manages to take control of the horde. However, more threats than just them are brewing. Unrest caused by the aftermath of the greenskins seems to be bubbling up on several places, and to make matters even more complicated it seems that for whatever reason there is not only one, but two Inquisitors sticking their heads in the sector, no doubt each with their own agendas. And then there's the Great Rift itself, which not only makes it more likely that you may face attacks from renegade and Chaos forces in the future, it has also largely cut your chapter off from the Astronomicon, making reinforcements and outside aid extremely rare. As it is, you were extremely lucky to get aid from the Indominus Crusade as it is, but the ships delivering your new Primaris reinforcements have since left, leaving you alone to try and manage your chapter and the threats that may turn their attention on the subsector.
To that end, there are still several courses of action your chapter could undertake at the moment, though unfortunately, due to one of your three Battle Barges being lost in the Warp during the opening of the Great Rift, and another one being destroyed during the Ork invasion, you're only able to answer one offworld call for assistance at a time.
[] Belshir: Belshir is an Agri-World that was hit hard by the rampaging Ork WAAAGH and is still recovering from the attacks, and is also the world where Chapter Master Dasan fell, slaying the warboss of the WAAAGH. Although Ork "leadership" is currently splintering as a result, there is still a heavy greenskin presence on the planet and nearby airspace, and they could use assistance, especially since as one of the main Agri-Worlds in the subsector, several planets depend on it for food.
[] Antion: Similar to Belshir, Antion was also hit hard by the Orks, though where Belshir is an Agri-World, Antion is a Forgeworld, producing tools, habitats, and vehicles for the neighboring systems, as well as weapons for the local PDF forces. As such it's survival is critical, and the Mechanicus are requesting assistance, as their Skitarii legions were decimated by the Orks.
[] Ossus: Ossus is the name of a belt of asteroids and dwarf planets that orbit the main star of subsector Thaumiel. The mining facilities there were mostly abandoned during the Ork attacks as defending them was initially too difficult, but you are getting a call for assistance from one Inquisitor Tigor Duke, an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos that your chapter has had a number of… less than cordial run ins with. By the sound of things he is requesting extraction from one of the larger mining stations, but did not mention why he was there in the first place…
[] Space Hulk Terminus: Near the edges of the subsector, it seems that a Space Hulk has been spat out of the Warp. Your chapter has received a communication from Inquisitor Alana Elgev of the Ordo Hereticus asking for help exploring the Hulk, as her normal backup of Grey Knights is currently unavailable thanks to the Great Rift. Space Hulks are notoriously dangerous things, filled with all sorts of xeno and chaos related horrors, but at the same time, they can be filled with treasures as well...
